I know i am in minority here. I know i should not say this . But even after one and half week of staying away from this drama. This feeling is not going away. That's when i decided I need to say this.
I am not able to continue the series. Not because it's bad. But because it's too good in potryating raw emotions. That I have to cry a lot with each character. But one character that stood out to me is Shi Yuhao. I know he has done lot of bad things. But idk i relate to him in very bad way. This comment will be very personal to me so I don't care who agree or disagree with me. But I need this feeling to be out. And i mean it.
Shi Yuhao is a desperate person who wants to make name in this brutal entertainment industry. He is someone who ran away from his relationship without giving closure maybe it's because he don't want to face the public but want all good things from relationship. The fame, shipping, popularity and care and love Qing lang used to bring into the table. He used his position as celebrity to sleep with people. He even went as far as to get qing lang's location from his admirers. These all are bad things that he did.
But i relate to him when in ep5 it was shown that how he screamed " can't i get merit on my own? Why nobody believes in me? Everyone sags Qinglang won Best Actor on merit. Why does no one believe in me?" And i paused. I felt his anger in a very sad and painful way. Imagine being in this industry for so long still no one believe u is some huge remarks. When one get their first job they always want to prove themselves and to proof this very line wrong. We all have been there. But hearing after so long in remaining in the same industry that's painful. U start doubting urself and ur own capability and that's not a good place to be in.
And u see when he came back to home. No one was there. He was all alone. No one to show care, cheer him on or say i believe in u. Everything is gonna be alright. None. His house is not lit. No one to wait for him. Just like his life his home was dark. I feel for him. Maybe it's this loneliness is the reason that he is going deeper in making everyone as his baobei( baby/darling).
Then when his sadness took him over. His eyes having a sense of tear and out of frustration he went to the table to take out a cigarette to calm himself down and make himself better. But then a cigarette fell down and he went too frustrated that " why?" Nothing is going in his way. This feeling is so real and raw. He gave up. Then knife like truth and dare game was circling and circling. Shi yuhao went away from the table but still the knife was circling and circling. And then it stopped. At the direction where Shi Yuhao went. I see this as too intentional. I see this as death. Shi Yuhao is under depression and he needs therapy asap. This scene looked like a staged way to demonstrate that how it feels like to slowly loose every hope inside of someone. And what remains is just a person trying to live on. Live on without hope. Death of hope.
Which is why what happens later is more painful to me. This is part 1 of Shi yuhao.
Third is annoying me right now...he accused Wan of being unprofessional while himself is also very unprofessional…
I do agree that he can be little bit softer in how he approach towards people. But I like third in some things. Like him laying out facts as it is without any hidden agenda. He truly meant well for Wan. Him being rude is still ok in the sense it doesn't impact the project itself. Although i don't promote his rudeness. It's an another layer that actors who are good at their work come out as rude as they have good family backing.
But co-star pic i think Third has problem because BL fan will ship them. He wants to just act and not get shipped. He thinks Nine as his coworker and nothing else. It makes him off that oh just because I want to do romance series i have to sail my ship. That is his problem. I think he would be ok if he would have been asked to take the photo with his entire team. Plus i can't even deny that this action of taking pic with co actors will not help in popularity and promote series. So ig difference of priorities and opinions?
Also not to mention Third don't feel anything for Nine so he don't want to take this further from filming scenes. To him social media is a space to share his own thoughts and opinions which i am fine.
i would not have signed that contract under those conditions.
Actually. I think Wan just wanted to help his mom. But u know what the show actually showed how company contracts are exploitative in real world. And I liked that fact. Iykyk the famous kpop girl group never made a single money despite being popular internationally and before disbanding. This is the reality. Sigh.

U can't completely blame them. It's a fault from Wan side and his production company as well. His production company didn't highlight the importance of workshop and how to prepare well. What to do and what to not. Just enrolling into acting, dancing and singing classes with clinics are not sufficient. Dancing, singing, and clinics are cherry on top. But this is also a harsh reality that entertainment industry values visuals than acting especially in east asia. So this is bound to happen. They never checked his acting. Only visuals. His audition was passed because he was speaking and acting exactly how he feels and not him acting anything. Plus casting director was biased with Nine choices. But Wan is also at fault. I don't ques him not understanding acting and asking ques that's valid. But he should have done his research and read the script atleast. What acting coach said is not wrong. It's 100% true. I guess how events turned out is fault in everyone's part.
Now with Wan popularity rise, they can't remove him from the series. He has public support now. Which changed the talk that they can remove him because of his poor acting.
It's a pain and hard work to all now. Basically everyone has to make this work. No backout.
This drama is so good. Ep2 is so good. It has a touch of fanboy image, entertainment industry exposure and the reality of the depiction of how front camera masks away the real characterization of a person. I get Nine. This is his first lead role so ofcourse he wants to shine. He wants to get popular that's why he is putting up with Third as he want this ship to sail. As sinking this ship will harm him. But Third is also right in his place. Wan as a character has to step away from his fanboy era and start to see himself as colleague and actor. I am so happy that drama is taking time and showing all these minute things. Even renji is likable.
The only problem i have with this series is too much makeup on Save. That's it. U know some characters and actors look automatically good and cute naturally or with less makeup. But I will take it as another positive side to show how this is also a reality of entertainment industry. Whitewashing on who is already pale. Like Botox hints that casually dropped. And another week of wait.
Finally. A time when my Amazon prime sub will be fruitful. Because wdym I have to rent a drama/movie even when I am already a subscriber. 🤣 Doesn't make sense to me.
Ep3, i hate kitty. How can she do this even unintentionally this is just too much. They should have given a disclaimer at the start of the ep about serious themes. I almost cried due to fear and worry for Shanzou Zitiao.
She was sent to remote area without any accompanied person. Is this security and empathy towards her own colleague? Kitty just wanted to lead the project when she was never the incharge of. Everything Lumi, Flora, Luke did why she was there to order around. And put people in difficult situation? Was she not aware that rain is about to take place despite weather forecast warnings, landslide can happen in mountainous area and not to mention harrassment whole seeing alone girl in remote area? Thankfully Shang Zitiao saved herself and helped Luke as I was genuinely worried for both of them.
I genuinely did NOT expect to love this drama so much. Music and pianist dramas are usually not my thing, but…

About casting i am very much satisfied as they actually have background in art and music. Also it looks like they only played piano which one can't expect from young artists. Although not a fan of Song Kang. I am actually liking him here.

Also, Luke always saying that she is not suitable kinda raise ques of self doubt. In workplace coming this from boss itself and that too again and again leads to pressure and depression. I thank that in ep2 this is not present in second half. But again as much as i love Flora perseverance to learn i don't want to take it in a way that he is boosting his own superiority( he has some ego tbh) otherwise boss giving advice to his employee or trainee is no big deal.

True true true. I love that this drama doesn't turn into office romance quickly. It doesn't forget office and include only romance. Or filling office dialogue too heavy to catch up or understanding or too idealistic from real world.
