Oh I have diff opinion here about 'not yet'. I think she did died. But the purpose of life of her or the story of her isn't completed. I read Lan Jie very differently. For me she is never a character just to be there. For me she she is more than that. I was wanting to talk about this. But I need to log in from my laptop to type as it will be long. And my phone will not allow me to do so. 😅😂 ( Hangs a lot)

But I definitely need ur reasoning there.

What to address first? My emotions or my confusion? I need someone to talk to.

Let me start with my confusion as it's easy to write. Is this drama set in future? Why Lan Jie's tomb has date of June6,2032? And did i just saw the titles translated as
'The date of passing was 2032 which is written according to the western calendar. But the month and date are written using the Earthly Branch system, which would make it June 6. So why would you have a mix of two separate calendar systems engraved on a tombstone? So why would you have a mix of two calendar engraved on your tombstone. Is this show implying some sort of calendar shift in the future? Or it is just a production error? These are some ques that I have watching long drawn out scenes like this'

Is this english translation correct? Is this drama really in future. And i guess i understood why second cp has too much screen time and why author chose to end the journey of Lan Jie. I am in my assumption phase but that's what I can infer. Also now that i see it clearly ep4 title now makes sense.

Idk where to start? What to say first? What to feel first? One emotion doesn't settle down within me and yet another arises. It's been long gone feeling while watching drama where I feel 'curiousity' when an ep is ending or at a character's death.

In ep5,Does anyone know when I will feel good in this drama? When I will get healing vibes back again from ep1? Because I am not able to watch due to heaviness and raw emotions.

So if something goes wrong Zhao ling will be doomed. Tingyun helping Northwest is not wrong. Just going with the approach i will find another way is issue.

Plus the issue i am seeing with her is that she wants Zhao ling to listen to her. If they are not in one mind. She is imposing her thoughts on this directly to him. Which is not good.

Ikr i am feeling the same. Till Ganlin arc it was so good. But now i don't even want to continue.

Ep22, and why Tingyun is like this? Why she directly go to her sister in law for the recommendation of her brother as salt censor? Why not discuss with zhao ling first? He is in charge right? Why she is acting in accordance to that without consulting? If anything goes wrong who will be responsible?

Did she lost her brain while waiting for zhao ling in those 5 years?

There was one chinese drama Flourished Peony that shows strong friendship or sisterhood who were not related. These stories involving two women is present in cdrama atleast. Even in recent Love For You same dynamics were there. They were rivals then became family.

Ep29 review. I hate zhang bin. If one has to see they are playing with their own employees life. Also the very fact that he is using zhai's close and trusted person to get back on chen yi indirectly and shifting the blame of arson and the whole logistics thing is just .....plus the way whole thing has been played out- the Linehaul part, the dolls in market going till 6 production lines but inside have 7 production lines to smuggle through 7th line via dolls. Then whole passing of checkpoints by dodging police. Then again excuse of playing pool. That man is dangerous.

Trust me as a person who can watch anything as long as plot serves me including BL. I see no issue here. If the story has never been marketed as BL or queer then isn't the queerbaiting ques is invalid here? Yes one can say if it's marketed like that. I mean males can also share a very beautiful bond which is deep and fall under category of understanding each other, friendship, healthy rivalry with each other like Lotus Mysterious Casebook is a prime example. Or Naruto with Sasuke. But it's also another fact that BL watchers have been told degrade and compared to p**n watchers. That's so wrong in so many levels.

So yeah it's coming from both the sides. Atp i wish this gets over and who wants to watch for whatever reason just peacefully enjoy and let others enjoy. Because story actually is good till now. This will be easily my one of the fav kdrama of the year if they don't mess things later.

Finally!!! Someone said on this. I was looking for this kind of comment. I think their background with arts and from idol era is helping them. That's more of the reason I think the cast is good.

Music is all about emotions. Ig Bin O was too much indulged in proving himself superior he took what's written in music score and without making that as his all he understood is that how well he incorporate those technicalities. That's why his grandfather said that and he changed to softer tone which had emotion according to me but what emotions idk 😐.

And that's the diff between him and Jeong yo. He finds beats and rhythm in daily life. He feels music
He may not be an expert in terms of technicalities but it invokes emotions. I see now.

Often they made music that turned out to be seminal and are regarded as masterpieces then and now- I do realise this. But my lack of experience and understanding in this matter don't and can't differentiate. Trying hard while watching this.

The Beatles and The Rolling Stones for popular music of the 20th century. I have heard of them. But frankly maybe due to closed worldly experience and clash of kpop era i got drawn and more connected there. So it's a miss from me that i didn't listened to Beatles. Listening one rn while typing this text to reflect on my negligence. 😊

to understand the relation between the musical pieces and the story better, then you might want to find out which specific pieces they play in the drama -- does it have a name? Who wrote it? Does it have connections to other media / events over the course of history? - yes thank you. It will help me. Unless that one "explaination0 person" enters discussion room. This is best to rely on without missing things.

Just that it will slow me down. 1 hour watch will be 2-3 hour watch and am all seated. Plus point is that this drama airs at evening in my country that too on weekends. So no work no college distractions.😊

I see. Thank you so much for explaination. It's diff from my country where instruments are always overshadowed by vocals to convey the feelings and expressions and music itself. Instruments are there for aid the vocals to make the music more good. That's why atleast in my country now i don't even see vocal songs- instrumental version..which is kind of sad for people like me. As although I love piano . I can't understand piano. I want to understand the instruments emotion . But fail on that. Like u mentioned i have to Google a lot and understand what that piece itself means.

Like when Bi O played piano in front of his grandfather to say that he indeed has music talent and showed off his skills by using fast tempo( forgive me if i am wrong am saying with my limited understanding regarding this subject) and it was indeed technical. Then his grandfather said i am not here to see ur show off. Then he immediately started playing softer tone piece.
But i am failing to understand the importance of that piece and emotion there. Again my friend google is helping.

Even there was a scene where the person who guide the orchestra( don't know what's it's called) he was kinda signalling interlude. And then orchestra stopped and thats how present story stopped and flashback of 6 months ago came. It was a dramatic yet powerful choice to do so. I am just wondering how much effort it took and I don't want to miss any chance to miss this depth of drama.

I guess like one have Romanticisation period( not romance but romanticism as a time period) it was revolutionary in its own way. Same i am guessing with this whole classic and Beethoven and Mozart influence. Most probably they are the person who took this concept into greater heights.

Like there was one time when I was watching a CBL "to my shore" it had one music pieces that took refrences of Beethoven music pieces i don't remember what was that exactly now but it was there to add the emotional heavy and deliever the pain the characters were going through. I didn't understood unless someone mentioned in comments.

But this drama reminds me of an anime " Your lie in April". I was teen that time and didn't understood what it was saying. Why there was mention of Kaiser, Chopin, Beethoven, and Kreisler. And I was scratching my head 😂. Now I think of it. Orange was beautiful song from that. And other songs also were good. Not sure if u have ever watched it. But it's songs were good.

People will continue to talk then ig i need to stop looking at comment section. Because wdym there are less discussion about story itself? It's been quite a long time I am invested in kdrama. Last was lovely runner. Am still at ep1 but there are so many things to talk about production, inclusion of a actual classic music pieces, character depth, acting but all I see is this discussion. Which i find it sad. It doesn't do justice to this drama. Because when was the last time any drama with this synopsis was made? Penthouse? It's been years.

I am just sad that people are not looking beyond even cast. They were chosen already and it serves the story. If they look and understand even 1 percent of music one will know why having art and music bg needs to be there to play those classic pieces. Not all can play.

So since the title itself has Sonata, having zero bg knowledge on music. I searched and someone needs to tell me what I found is correct or not.

A sonata is a piece of classical music played by instruments, not sung.

But my genuine doubt is that why Mozart and Beethoven are legends. I mean piano was there already. I tried to listen to their classic songs but didn't understood what made them so legendary. Also , what is 'classic' in music?

If anyone has an idea about this. Please let me know. Because I am scratching my head to understand these terms. Also considering stories like this also communicates to the audience via music i don't want to miss that connection because of my knowledge gap.

Nanyang Mystery, Mr. Kill, Wu has bromance genre. There are lots of drama which include Bromance as genre in MDL.
And I just don't know what is the problem with "Bromance" as genre. As per my understanding, bromance means two male people who goes life and death situation together or u can say they share a deep emotional bond but they never NEVER has romantic feelings for each other. They do love each other like we love our brothers and sisters, friends, family but they don't see each other like that. There can never be something between them not emotionally,not physically nothing.

But idk why this is coming up again and again in this drama. This story has been defined as friendship story. Can't two male just share a deep bond like an understanding counterpart, rivalry yet respect for each other. Since when 2 male lead centric story has became all bromance and BL stories idk.

Maybe it's marketing? Or maybe it's audience idk. If u see down in the comment section people are not giving break from this topic. Now that it's not bromance or BL. People can rant and just move on. Idk why this is stretching.

Someone who knows chinese needs to correct me if i am wrong...the native title is "Zao chun qing lang" / 早春晴朗 as written in MDL.

Zao- early chun- spring qing-sunny
Lang- clear

So, Zao chun qing lang= A Clear, Sunny Day in Early Spring

As to why they drop clear and sunny( qing lang) and only kept zao chun( early spring) idk. Maybe because it's easy to say.

Again i am not chinese so I could be wrong. Now, why the title itself is Zao chun qing lang idk. Need to watch the drama to decide. Am starting today. Or maybe novel readers can ans ur ques

And that's what chang yang can't say. I mean how to say that he love qing lang in soul level? Labels and form/shell don't define what he feels for him.

And i think that's why qing lang said " i don't think i have loved you this much in our past life. So i have to make it up in this life." After ep3, he seems to realise that they shared past and present together. Remember the century line. It was like awakening call to qing lang. That factor is there. But that's 30percent of it. He was bound to fall in love with chang yang. Even if one ignore this awakening, he still would have fallen in love with him like this. Just that awakening made the appreciation of one's presence more. The intensity of feelings more. Unwillingness to separate more. To be able to be brave despite understanding outcomes still acknowledging feelings more because the sense of importance of time of being together is felt more. 😊

Need to sleep and stop obsessing over this drama it's 5am. 😂😂.
