Rewatching Ep 27, and when XZ pulls the net back up, I spied a pearl necklace floating in the water (didn't notice this before!). My first thought was like, "Nooooo don't let that baobei get away!!!!! Too precious, I want that necklace for myself! Save it for me XZ!!!"

Ooooh exciting! Almost makes me want to finish the novel but I will hold myself back to avoid spoilers hehehehe

Hmmmmmm. 🤔 I read most of the novel (up to Ch 70) but didn't finish bc I wanted the ending to be a surprise. Why was XZ so smitten when she agreed to the two wishes? Did I miss something? Or is it bc the two wishes will come into play during the last few chapters that I haven't read yet?

Yeah, I think that is what they tried to convey through showing SL's phoenix form too, and I agree that it looked more beautiful/elegant instead of showing the pain he endured. This part where he admires her phoenix form and touches it -- it's not in the novel.

For Ep 26, the only thing that I wish was conveyed a bit better through the drama was that SL's body is actually scalding hot when XZ finds her on the beach, but he touches her and holds her tightly anyway bc he is just so happy to finally find her that he gladly tolerates the burning pain. He also continuously held her at their fisherman home. It just shows how far he's willing to go just for her. I found these scenes very romantic when I read it in the novel.

I watch them on the WeTV / Tencent app! They always have the teasers uploaded for the next 2 episodes there.

It's bc of Chinese censorship. They have to reduce scenes to fit the 40 ep requirement, plus they can't show too much blood and violence.

Yes it is humiliating, but it happens in real life too. We are stupid fools in love hehe (myself included -- when I chased a boy hard last year and got rejected, I tried at least a few times until it was clear he would never like me back, so I can relate to the FL.)

FL does warm up to ML as the episodes progress on, and ML becomes more and more direct in his pursuit of FL. I'm on Ep 18 right now and still loving it! Hope you'll give it one more try! :)
