I don't know if y'all noticed, but around 32:24 in Ep 20 when the Duke of Xue first enters the prison and sees all the Xingyu Guards fighting the rebels, there is this one Xingyu Guard that picks up a rebel onto his shoulder and then twirls around gracefully in a circle with him before throwing him off. I burst out laughing at that scene bc it looked like a romantic dance move in a ballet or something! 🤣🤣🤣

I thought it was strange too, given that they're royalty. But I haven't read the novel so I'm not sure what their personalities are supposed to be like, and whether they become stronger in the future.

I understand that baby/cutesy female leads can be annoying. I think actresses such as Zhao Lusi and Esther Yu worked hard recently to avoid being type casted into this role, so they've expanded their portfolio to include more serious female lead roles -- Zhao Lusi with WRTW and LLTG, and Esther Yu with MJTY. I would recommend checking those out if you haven't seen them yet.

Oh also, to answer your question, I think both have a similar setup with the "reverse harem" theme (i.e., multiple MLs), but I think that's where the similarity ends. LYF has a strong FL, but her personality is very different from the FL in SOKP. Also, LYF FL's actions are driven by her childhood traumas, while SOKP FL's actions are driven by her previous life's regrets.

I wholly recommend LYF regardless of which ML you prefer. The acting, production and storyline are all A+. It's been months after Season 1 ended, and many fans are still discussing LYF daily. Even I continue to watch my fav scenes with my personal fav ML (Xiang Liu) daily, and read other fans' commentary/analysis in forums. I even went on to read the novel since I really wanted to know how the story ended, and could not wait anymore until Season 2 (since we don't know when exactly that'll be released). Also, for those who've read the novel, I'm curious, did he ever call her Ning'Er in their previous life too?

Does anyone remember when exactly XW started calling JXN as Ning'Er? Was it from the very first episode, or later on when she had already entered palace? I find it sweet that he calls her Ning'Er...adds a level of intimacy hehehe!

Omggg same!! I was held captive by LYF for the past few months and could not find any other drama fascinating enough to pull me away. This drama is the first one since LYF that made me obsessed day and night waiting for the next episode!

Hi! Looking for some insight. In the scene where XY and XL send off the demon slave who was freed, and XY talked about how she wished she had been the one to save XL too:
1) Why did XL say XY was not worthy of saving him?
2) Why did XL suddenly get so angry?

Just now, I was rewatching their scenes to see if I could figure out any clues on when exactly he started having feelings. I think it started during the scene where he takes her to walk on the water and gaze at the beautiful night sky.

100% yes!! Has me entranced and obsessed. I've been rewatching every episode twice, and I don't do this often.

I was thinking something similar too! And actually, what you said just reminded me of an earlier scene where GZY said that YWS is cold but with a warm heart, and that maybe he can melt her.
