I don’t think he is being nice to her because of that, I think he WANTS her to think that. I keep saying it…
Ah I hope so. But I feel like Taekyung, in nature, is just a respectful person. I don't know how to explain it in English but in Korean, he is what we refer to as 다정남 (Da-jeong-nam). He's quite warm-hearted for a person who normally distances himself from others. If people treats him respectfully, he'll treat them the same and when someone crosses the line, that's when the inner 'lion' comes out. So while we see Sejin's intentions for 'faking' her niceness, he is somewhat on the fence about her (he knows he can't fully trust her but he's trying to give her the benefit of the doubt) so he's just treating her respectfully.

As annoying as Sejin is for trying to force herself into Taekyung’s life, I’m not worried? Because a) the previews for this show is very misleading and I think we all know this by now haha and b) Taekyung is literally no thoughts, head empty, just Oh Yeondoo right now. She’s literally all he could think of. Sejin may try but the feelings he had for her in high school is long gone. Lol.
I think the only way for Taekyung to stop being nice to Sejin is if her lies get exposed. The only reason he’s being nice is because he was being grateful to her for saving Yeondoo (which she lied about). I want anti-Sejin Taekyung back LOL.

Title The Real Has Come! Spoiler
Today’s episode is a bit of a filler episode. But I think it’s purpose is to build and show Taekyung’s growing feelings for Yeondoo. Those who guessed that Taekyung would be the one to catch feelings first, you’re absolutely right! Hahaha. When Yeondoo mentioned them ‘breaking up’ in the future, he actually seemed slightly offended by that. Lol. Also the loud pounding heart sound effect! I thought it would be from Yeondoo during the photo booth scene because of the preview but it’s actually Taekyung because he was so affected by Yeondoo sleeping beside him hahahaha. Also Junha is returning soon. Finally! Hate that Sejin is constantly trying to insert herself wherever Taekyung is but I’m glad that it’s so obvious that Taekyung do not have any leftover feelings for her. He’s treating her like an acquaintance/friend. But he’s definitely too nice to her. Girlie don’t deserve a friendship and being treated nicely.

Apparently there's gonna be 24 episodes? Oooh we're in for a treat, ya'll.

Though I don't really understand the Web 3.0 distribution part. I thought it's gonna be on Disney+?
Especially since a lot of BTS-related content (documentaries) is being distributed by Disney+ recently, I would assume it's the same for this one.

Oh and it seems knetz agrees to what you are saying here, hehhttps://www.kdramastars.com/articles/129579/20230509/cha-joo-young-acting-the-real-has-come-sparks-controversy.htm
Ah I guess I’m not the only one. Haha. I actually speak Korean and I did feel like she was mumbling her lines tbh. But it’s probably just her natural voice though it would’ve been better if she were to change it up. It made her line deliveries really flat because of how unclear and monotonous she sounds. Ahn Jaehyun may not be the best actor but I do have to commend his very clear enunciation. His line deliveries improved a lot because of that.

Like joseon granny I honestly can't take her seriously, like at all. Because SJ is like a toddler being sent to…
Yes at her ‘lack’ of expressions. It made the character feel even more boring for me. Tbh, I’d rather for her to be one of those exaggerated/caricature-like antagonist. It would’ve made watching her more fun lol. As of now, she’s just annoying and ineffective.

I feel like weekend dramas without a full-on antagonist is quite rare. But then again, I don’t really watch weekend dramas much because it takes commitment. Haha. I probably need to watch more of those slice-of-life type of weekend dramas.
On The Real Has Come! May 10, 2023
No offence to Cha Jooyoung. While I think she's a pretty good actress but so far her portrayal here as Sejin has been quite one-dimensional. Sure, some of it has to do with the writing for her character and her character motives were questionable but I can't help but to imagine if Sejin was played by, for example, Lee Yuri or Kim Soyeon. They would've made Sejin a much more interestingly complex character. Sorry to inform some of you, but the antagonists have always been the heart of every weekend dramas. It's completely unavoidable, trust me. It wouldn't be a weekend drama if there's no antagonist taking up half of the entire screentime and acting in a way that makes you want to rip your(or their) hair out. If you don't like watching antagonists like Sejin on your screens, you'd have better luck with the standard 16 ep rom com. But this is a 50 episode family weekend drama, so you need to know what you're getting yourself into XD They are makjangs for a reason and general audiences devour makjangs because the antagonists are intriguing and you just wanna see them get their comeuppance eventually. But there's a difference between having antagonists that makes you wanna continue watching because you're intrigued by them and an antagonist that makes you feel bored/annoyed and just wanna avoid seeing. Cha Jooyoung's Sejin being the latter. Lee Yuri and Kim Soyeon are actresses known for their antagonistic roles and honestly if their characters were portrayed by a lesser skilled actress, they would've felt just as flat as Sejin's character but somehow they made it work and they delivered complexity and fun to their, otherwise, one-dimensionally written evil characters. Cha Jooyoung's portrayal of Sejin is just boring and uninteresting so far. Hopefully, there will be a turn around. & if her character continues to antagonize the main characters, I hope that the character becomes an antagonist that makes hate-watching fun. I'm excited for Junha's return tbh, because I feel like he would make a much more interesting antagonist. Heck, even grandma is much more interesting than Sejin and they pretty much have the same written characterisation. Grandma's annoying but she portrayed it in a way that makes her antagonism funny, you know?

There's actually still a lot more 'mysteries' to uncover. So I can see why they're dragging the Sejin arc for now. They are most likely trying to make Sejin the catalyst that would make Yeondoo and Taekyung bond and strengthen their relationship with each other before they move on with Junha arc. I foresee Junha's arc to happen after or when YD & TK realized their feelings for each other. SJ & JH will most likely team up with the knowledge that the baby is possibly his. So that's definitely gonna be the obstacle in their blossoming relationship. But there has been several foreshadowing or maybe red herring that indicates the possibility of baby Jinjja to be Taekyung's after all. But whether he's gonna be the real biological (though I'm not sure how but there are theories going ard) or a real father that stepped up is gonna be the next arc to the story. Another mystery and probably the final arc is whether Taekyung is actually biologically related to the Gong family and I think that there's a lot of hints that is pointing to that. It would be a great slap to grandma's face, honestly. So I would love for that to happen.

Honestly, I’d rather see Junha than Sejin LOL
Can’t they switch places? Ship Sejin to the US and let Junha return. He may be a jerk but at least he’s an amusing character lol

Another show that seems stuck in a limbo similar to this movie is the drama, Youth. I've been waiting for both…
Oooh finally some sort of update. Bo-gum & Suzy brought up Wonderland at the Baeksang event. Seems like they will definitely release it this year.

I guess they're scrapping this. What a shame. The last I heard is that Disney+ might pick it up but no more updates after that...It's either they've completely abandoned it or it's stuck in a limbo just waiting for a streaming platform to finally pick it up. But according to NamuWiki (which would be unofficial information), it's expected to air in the latter half of this year (November-ish?). So let's see...

Ok but the way I started this drama thinking that the ML is gonna be one of those typical rich kdrama male leads that is gonna be rude and arrogant towards the FL before he falls for her but he turns out to be so sweet, caring and genuine (even before having any obvious feelings for the FL)? and I'm loving this so much? lol. I'm loving their dynamics. They feel like besties right now (even though they just knew each other) and I can't wait to see how its gonna develop into romance in the future haha

No offence but this gotta be one of the blandest female leads I've ever watched. I'm so sorry :(
If only the writer would flesh out her character (and give her appropriate screentime?) so that I could get behind the romance but I don't see that happening. It kinda feels like the female lead was never meant to be an integral part of the plot and is in this story mainly as a way for Dojun to be himself a.k.a Hyunwoo. I guess it's fine as long as they continue to make the romance very very minimal. If they suddenly amped it up, I would be so lost. lol. When they kissed, it literally caught me off-guard LOL and it really doesn't help that the two actors don't really have natural chemistry with each other to make it believable. Good writing is needed to build that chemistry. But I'm hoping that there's more for her character to do now that she's somewhat involved? Sigh, I don't know. I just don't like it when female characters are being sidelined to only just be the pretty and sweet love interest of the emotionally complex male lead. Let her be a part of the main plot too, please. She's also a 'lead' for a reason and not just to be the male lead's kissing partner 😞

Just watched the latest ep. *sigh*

Nah I hate writing that's done purely for shock value. The latest ep pretty much confirms it for me that the writing for this show is not good. So much potential but the writing is just imbalanced and all over the place. It's like even the writer does not know what the goal is here.

Why not replace the scenes that are written only for the sake of shocking and angering viewers and write in actual character development? Especially for the male lead because honestly he is no different than just being a background character. Is this romance? Because it sure does not feel like it. Very limited scenes and character growth between the two main leads that it's making it hard to actually root for them tgt. Sure, they look cute but that's just about it. There's just no substance in their relationship. The writer did not even bother. Lol

After episode 11, now I wonder what it would have been like if it was an enemies-to-lovers story in the first place? If the potential plot presented in episode 11 was brought in earlier to establish an enemies-to-lovers plot line for the main leads. While yes, it's an overdone trope but I feel like in the case of this show, it would have been more fitting. It would elevate the romance plot line and it would've made the romance make more sense. At least for me. Oh what a missed opportunity, writer-nim.

& oh hey. Thanks ep 11 for letting HIY finally showcase some acting range. He did well. Though of course, we can't satisfy everyone. So I'm expecting some netizens to still be nitpicking over his acting. Because unfortunately when people have already formed an opinion on you, they're gonna stick with it no matter what. No matter if you've improved or did well, they're still gonna continue seeing it in a bad light. It's unfortunate but can't be helped. That's just how it is sometimes. Plenty of actors/actresses out there I know of who started off shaky but have improved by leaps and bounds over the years, but yet still be accused of bad acting. Smh.
