Hey, i also dont understand the things you asked but I'm gonna comment about my thoughts.
1) I guess it has sth to do with being village manager (captain?). In season 1 even though Thomas' remaining bones have been found, we saw that in season 2, he was still at the Duon Village. Since they pointed out this in the latest episodes, they might give an answer in S3.
2) As far as we know they dont have any connections other than Il Young's desire to find Wook and find his body. Since in the final episode Wook started to dream about merry-go-rounds, I wonder if they need any connections.
3) It wasnt mentioned how they met but we know Il Young tried to go out and accomplish it. But since they also have got no connections so I also wanna know about this too. Cause he can see the other village because Alice's mom is there.
4) Literally have no idea...

I kinda hate this type of things. Like he thinks he should not get the throne because he wants to be with her and she thinks even though she wants to stay with him, she cannot ask him to throw away his responsibilities. We saw this kind of things enough....
