I couldn't sympathise with the mother character. Yeah, she had a tough life and traumatic experiences but she didn't need to abuse her son in order to make him a prosecutor. Beating him after he got into a fight with his bully, always keeping him half hungry so that he can study more, never letting him enjoy ANYTHING?!? You don't have to make your child's life miserable in order for him to become "someone". And the way they tried to excuse all of that π. The only good thing is that in the end she realized she was a bad mother.
Aside from that, I liked the drama. The acting was good and the story as a whole would've been great had they not tried to excuse abusive behaviour. The ending was nicely wrapped up and everyone got what they deserved. I like that. Anyway, 8.5/10.
I want to watch this so bad because of Lee Do Hyun but the thought of that mother character makes my blood boil (I've seen clips of her here and there). I don't think I'm in the right mood to tolerate horrible k-drama parents π«
This was an excellent movie. I was completely captivated with the premise of what seems like a bully, and not his victim, committing suicide. It's an interesting and complex portrayal of one person's psychology, a story about friendship that gets destroyed by Gi Tae's inner demons that turn him into a bully and isolate him from those who kept him sane. A really tragic and realistic story. 9.5/10
I just have a doubt with Haru's Storyline.. who was the guy in the hospital with him? I thought it was his "hallucination"..…
That guy in the hospital is the brother of the small boy Haru saw being kidnapped when he was young. His parents didn't want him to talk about that incident and they wanted to pretend everything was fine. That's also why he's lying and pretending not to remember anything.
Well expect me. I didn't like season 1 but it is watchable, season 2 was messed up, and season 3 followed the…
I didn't see it as a horror tbh. The monsters were too campy and ridiculous to take them seriously. That's actually the main reason why I didn't like the first season. Once I got used to the monsters I ended up enjoying the second season more. But yeah, I can understand both sides - those who don't like it and those who like it.
I have mixed feelings about this. I enjoyed watching it, but I'm not completely satisfied. The whole 'evolution' of the humans was also unclear. What determines who becomes a monster and who becomes a neohuman? And also, special infectees, what's the deal with them? I'm happy Lee Do Hyun returned as Lee Eun Hyeok in this season tho. His interactions with Cha Hyeon Su were really fun. All in all, I'll rate it 8 because I did find it entertaining.
It's kinda funny, everyone loves 1st season and dislikes 2nd season, but out of 3 seasons, I rated first one the lowest, and second one the highest π€£
Cein died, he committed suicide (the fire). I'm not sure what Jaeha did there, whether he jumped to commit suicide…
Yes, you could say that. There will be a timeline in which all of them survive. The original story is not yet done tho, by the end a misunderstanding between Jaeha and Hwan + other boys will cause them to grow distant. So although they are all alive and well, it comes off as a bittersweet "ending".
As for the drama, if you don't know about the time traveling aspect of the story the ending would look sad, but if you know it you can consider it hopeful.
As you have seen, all of them ended up having miserable lives. But, when Hwan jumped from that platform by the sea he was offered a choice to go back in time and save his friends. He time traveled, and that scene with all of them on the beach is the past he's reliving. In the original story (Save Me webtoon) he gets stuck in a time loop and it takes many attempts before he manages to save all of them.
As for Jaeha in the drama adaptation. I'm not sure what happened to him in the end. What they've shown us is very vague and while there are some similarities with the original story, it's also very different. In the original story Jaeha doesn't find the notebook and like Cein he also commits suicide. In the drama he jumps from the same platform Hwan jumped, but I'm not sure why. Was he jumping for no reason, was he trying to commit suicide (in the original story he jumped from the building) or will he time travel like Hwan, I don't know. The notebook in the original story was written by Hwan's father, not the man whose body was found on the beach, and it was not found by Jaeha. So yeah, I'm not sure what they had in mind when they made those changes.
But in the original story it was implied that Hwan's father also had the ability to time travel but he himself failed to save his friends and later lost his memories (they kept some of that in the drama).
But anyways, what's important is that Hwan went back in time to fix their lives/destinies π . I hope it answers some of your questions.
i'm writing this much later. i don't know if you read the notes book but the notebook was written by hwan/jin's…
Yeah, I read it but I don't remember it that well. From what I remember the notes don't go too deep into the content of the notebook (?) and the notebook in the drama had very detailed description of boys, so at first I thought they changed it so that it would be written by Hwan, but then I remembered the key and the guy who died.
However I think about it, much of the time travelling details in the drama don't make any sense without the second season. They changed a lot, but explained very little.
I noticed many people gave it 7 or 8 or 8.5 out of 10 on mdl. I am really surprised they gave that irritating'…
Well, I wouldn't agree. I myself gave it 10 and it's my favourite drama, but objectively speaking there are several elements that could've been better. For example, fighting scenes are not the best, CGI is also bad (the dancing statue and the dog in Wen prison, to name the few). Some supporting actors' performances could've been better as well. I don't want to name anyone specifically tho.
Anyway, I think the story and the main leads are 10/10, but if we take everything into consideration 9/10 is a great rating.
I'm on episode 46 and I wouldn't say it's that angsty, but Cheng Xu really is such a miserable character and seeing…
Update after ep. 50. Okay, they managed to fix what looked unfixable. I cried for two episodes straight but I like how the conflict between Chengxu and the young emperor was 'resolved'. I appreciate good tragedies so my rating also went up.
It will not drop unannounced, many movies announce 2-3 months prior but there are also some that announce only…
Okay. I don't mind long post production period, but the lack of any news surprised me. I'm used to western standard where they announce release date months before and since I saw people mentioning July as a possible date I got curious. Anyway, thanks π

There are no queer elements, just a strong bromance and (closer) bond between different pairings - Jooan and Dogeon, Haru and Hosu, Cein and Jaeha.
