Yes, from Time Raiders to Reunion season 2 is in order. The shows weren't released in chronological order. The Mystic Nine and Southern Anecdote are standalone series and were placed towards the end of the list.

Yes, Legend of Zang Hai changed a lot, but they kept some things in from the original script. I still see people refer to it as a dmbj show, so it is kept in the list for clarification purposes.

this show takes place before the other dramas in the same universe (dmbj). Zhang Haixia and Zhang Haiyan are part of the Zhang family which is a powerful family in the dmbj universe.

Different production companies and just general limitations of what actors are willing to sign up for has prevented them from using the same cast.

Time Raiders 2025, Adventure Behind the Bronze Door, The Lost Tomb , The Lost Tomb 2, etc. are all based on the novel series Daomu Biji and its sequel. So technically they are all related since they adapt the same novel series.

Adventure Behind the Bronze Door is based on a sequel to the main novel series, so it takes place some time later (plus the show ignores the age of the main characters, so the actors are older than the characters would be).

The Lost Tomb covers part of Volume 1, while Time Raiders 2025 covers the entirety of volume 1. The Lost Tomb (and other similarly titled shows) were produced by a different production company many years ago. So, Time Raiders 2025 is, in a way, a reboot of the tv series adaptations.

The title of this list (The Lost Tomb series) is a bit outdated now as it comes from the 2015 show. so after people become more familiar with the Time Raiders name/show, this list will likely be renamed to Time Raiders Watch Order.

For cdramas? No, unfortunately, I don't know any others. since both are originally grave robbing series, they go through a lot of censorship. bc of this, I don't think it's a popular genre. legend of zang hai is technically not part of the time raiders series but revolves a bit around tombs

yeah but since the book 2/qinling sacred tree arc doesn't connect to the main story and since tlt2 changes a bunch of stuff, i thought it was best to leave it at the bottom. especially bc ppl would have to rewatch the underwater tomb part again and some of the heavenly palace arc which then gets replaced/redone by the lost tomb 2: explore with the note anyway

I think at least time raiders' wu xie will be back for the heavenly palace arc

yeah they were moved to the bottom on purpose since Time Raiders basically will cover the same material. I thought having them there alongside it will cause more confusion about which ones to watch

Haha yes it can be very overwhelming. Thankfully i got into it before all of the tv shows aired otherwise i think i would have been too overwhelmed with it all.

Originally The Lost Tomb cast (the show from 2015) was going to have the same cast for future seasons, but they didn't end up doing it. There's also been a lot of copyright issues which prevented some of the same cast returning (i.e., Ultimate Note). However, from what I have seen, it looks like they're trying to recast the same actors more.

For the side movies, I'm not familiar with them since almost all of them (save for the Chen Pi movie) aren't based on any novel. They're just an addition to the series, and I've only watched a couple.

it's not related anymore. the script was based on wang zanghai (a dmbj antagonist). however, it's been changed so that it's no longer related to the series.

for anyone that tried to remove the related lost tomb series from this drama's mdl page, did mdl say why they wouldn't remove it?

The Legend of Zang Hai (LZH) was originally based on the character Wang Zanghai (antagonist in the DMBJ/Lost Tomb series). However, when it was bought by Zheng Xiaolong (director of LZH), it changed to be separate from the series.

But if it was kept related to the series, it takes place before any series as it would around the early Ming dynasty.

none of those movies are based off a particular novel, so time raiders can be watched anytime. conjuring curse seems to take place around reunion, so it can be watched before or after really. misty creed is a sequel to conjuring curse
