lolol that must have been wild when you found out!
Ah Lost Tomb 2 is my favorite, it's fun! But it's also one of those shows where you have to turn your brain off😂Ultimate Note is also pretty good.

Thanks for the list and breaking it down, when I saw the amount of prequels and sequels it kinda scared me but…
I hope you like it! Let me know if you have any questions~

Glad I could help and I hope you enjoy the shows!!
I think it's fine to start with Ultimate Note if u want, especially if you find yourself not liking the earlier shows.

Tbh I'd be okay with several Wu Xies and Pangzis, even new actors, since imho Wu Xies character has had a lot…
I think the main reason I enjoyed XYL's Xiaoge in Ultimate Note was the writing. So, if Tibetan Sea Flower could have XYL and a well-written Xiaoge, I'd be beyond happy. I'd also be okay with a recasted Wu Xie and Pangzi. There hasn't been a perfecting casting for Wu Xie yet, so I'm curious to see what other actors could bring! But XYL's Xiaoge was better than what I could have imagined.

I'm intending to start watching. Is it safe to assume this list is in order that I should watch it to make sense?…
Yeah if you watch it in the release order it will be very confusing. The shows were released out of chronological order mainly because of copyright issues. Some people start watching from The Lost Tomb and others start from Ultimate Note (ultimate note tried to explain what happens from the earlier shows a bit).

Thank you so much for the article. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. I’ve watched all the dramas from The Grave…
Yes definitely! A lot of plot holes would be filled if you read the books (though not all). Although if you have a plot hole that you're thinking of in particular, I can tell you if it's in the books. Just so you don't get your hopes up. The author is still writing, so some things have yet to be resolved.

A great article, I will be bookmarking it. I love the series and have been trying to read more from the novels.…
I like the variation in the recasting too! I like what the actors bring to the characters. Like Wu Xie from Tomb of the Sea is my favorite but my second favorite is from The Lost Tomb 2. Really different directions taken but still amazing!!

Hi, Such a wonderful help. Thank you so much. Watched most of the series. Only Reunion 1 & 2, I am yet to watch.…
An article about Zhang Qiling would be interesting! I think I would be out of my depths with that one though. I'd probably rely too much on the books than the shows lol Is there anything in particular you want to know about him? Maybe I can help with that

I could really do for a guide like this for Candle of the Tomb, to be honest, lol. Aside from Reunion, I'm all…
I've always wanted to read the Candle of the Tomb seires since much of the lore is the basis for the Grave Robbers' series. But they're untranslated and I couldn't get into the shows T_T I wish I could

I find it really sad T_T The supernatural and horror stuff is one of my favorite things about the novels.

Following this drama series is like following FATE anime series at times it feels so all over god damn place,…
Ah I've never watched the anime series. Congrats on getting the books! The published English books end in the middle of Volume 5 of the Chinese version. So about three volumes are not published by them. On the bright side merebear has translated the rest and their translations are great! In my opinion, overall better than the published ones.

The writers in Explore with the Note and the writers in Ultimate Note were definitely not on the same page lol.…
https://merebear474765851.wordpress.com/ here is the fan translations. Their translations start after the end of the published English book Graveyard of a Queen.
I don't think the books will provide a clear story either lol. There's still many mysteries that are unsolved. The author is still writing new stories.

Yeah the shows sometimes takes content from the other books. Even Ultimate Note took some content from volume 8. For Xiao Hua finding his uncle, I guess both shows thought that he should.
