I think it's one of the lucky ones that didn't get heavily edited due to time travelling shows been banned. I found this one more coherent than a few that came out that year.

Well as someone who saw it. Third party manipulation in this show was just unreal. You have to put your dramaland hat on - common sense, reality throw it out of the window.

Firstly, Ml and FL were never unfaithful. MLs family favoured a certain woman, the woman was after the "gold" lied her way in. Forged, faked and even lied that ML was responsible for the pregnancy ( usual trope of getting drunk and waking up confused!). ML been a knight and indecisive married the 3rd party.

FL was pregnant and lost her baby due to third party manipulation - they went out of the way to stage a play for FL to believe that ML was having affair in a hotel. And a few scenes were she caught ML in a compromising position e.g. 3rd party giving massages just as FL walks in etc etc youve prob seen all the tropes in cdrama world but this takes it to another level of unreasonable behaviour.

They are also working on the MLs trust. Fl has an ex (who is just a pure friend) who helps her out a lot. So third party always manipulating situations to feed the jealousy. Wallah thats the show.

The background really is half way she finds her long lost mother rich. Who trains her to become a business mogul. The usual trope.

Yep! But its a really old show: so FL 9/10 goes back to shitty ex and leaves any potential good match.

I noticed pre 2015 the style of script is FL leaves ML (sometimes forced) -> FL transforms -> ML regrets dumping/ divorce FL -> ML is pitiful (could be car accident, bankruptcy, infertile or drunkard) -> FL forgives and take ML back happy ever after. Might be generational acceptable norms - boomer generation

I know right. I think the younger celebrities (social media driven) are more in danger. Can only announce when their 40plus. From BTS to Bogum, same for some of the Chinese actors - they even argue about cp and delete (harrass) a FL they don't agree with😶 . It's going to be going into hiding. The coordinated fans are scary🤯

Now im early 30s im confronting the bias i had when i was younger. It could really be wanting to see people closer to your age and relatable. When i think about my favourite shows growing up the leads are " have grown up with me". Which means i just preferred stuff closer to my age then. Now its situational. I want to see more about making it in the city, job ladders and been a badass in a corporation.

I feel like they change the subs to what they interpret is trying to be said. I hate it especially now i know a lot of word and lines. I also hate it when they do it in Chinese dramas - change the idiom. Like why? Put a tn like in viki. Viki will always be the better subbers!

Are you bored and want to see one woman's suffering, turning into more suffering? What for? A gorgeous ML who has a lot to offer? No! For a ML who's only big decision was to leave the bosom of his mother and be under the bosom of FL. Live off her, do nothing to contribute to their continuos plight, take her son away and take in a concubine and still live off her. Not that FL has an amazing ending, she loses her first child, in the midst of more angst.

happy ending. yes? they live happily ever after! Yes i watched it, yes I was crazy but really wanted to get over a show I'd just seen. I won't say (CLOY!). I had watched in repeat for a whole month and really needed to move on.... This did it!

I loved it. Really liked it. Something painful about loving your first crush/love and they don't even see you or know your are dying inside

The FL did a great job. I really was feeling the emotions and the director did a good job too. The darkness was really felt. Really nostalgic for me. Listened to someday by Mariah Carey. Played this a lot when my crush went out with my friend. Arghh.

Also FL why do they not write them like this? Level headed and human. Her character was so relateable and enjoyed it

I can't remember. But the legal wife is not what you expect. She's an independent woman who wants to go back to her world and rule there. She strikes a deal with the couple to help them excel so she can get a divorce.

Its not the usual horrible bitchy 2FL, who gets jealous and sabatoging. Its written well. Don't give up. If anything she helps FL and ML communicate better. You will be sad when she finally leaves.
