After watching many and I mean many clips of this drama. I will not start it, I personally don't like doormat…
she was no door mat! Not sure if the clips are exaggerating. Worth watching even if you do start, middle and a few before ending.

the engagement (ep33?) was probably scarring but he is tormented with his mums death, hates the woman who broke up the family - who happens to be FL Aunt. FL hid this fact knowing all the facts and hate between the ML and her aunt. He kept trying to look past it but when she refused to give back shares that were given to her (Aunt tricked her). He could only see the worst in her.

But from ep43 he tries to win her back when he realises a) he loves her more than revenge b) she innocent.

FL is not simple to understand and can be frustrating. She felt guilty and just cowers inside as opposed to fighting her corner. Shes very human!

Any more dramas like this? Something like a soap opera with people in glamorous outfits, beautiful actress, and…
I'm the same I seem to like the not so popular stuff BUT not the really bad stuff! I actually look for between 7 and 8 ratings lol. I've also started to watch miniseries as they can also be satisfying.

It's probably me coming down from watching highly involved, emotive shows that really got my emotions up and down. So looking for really straightforward, soap opera, fix angst in 3 episodes no murders etc LOL. I was actually surprised how much I like Chef Hua, Chef Fang and even Ex-Wife Stop.

NTMY just seemed to hit the right spot and love commenting on the videos (most viki comments are me!)

Dropped after watching the ML's bangs in the opening scene, then tried again as it was highly recommended. Dropped…
I think the useless comment is unfair when you unpack it all. He was in situation were no one believed in him, expected the worst, people look down on him etc etc. Took an outsider to say you are worthy and people around him told by FL he is a gem. FL even lectures the dad for not doing a great job ( paraphrasing).

We then see the changes as time went on. Becoming a good detective, sticking his head out and trying to do well. That's the charm of the show i think. Its also refreshing to have a flawed ML ( closer to my reality) who become great.

I ddin't get she's a nice girl. the ML literally said it, she nice on the outside and muddy brain. We (audience)…
My thoughts on paper. Maybe thats why we enjoyed it as tye characters and actions were not one dimensional.

This should be interesting.
I always thought him and Chang Long take on similar roles. I find their acting is very similar.
Always leaves me in fits of laughter. 😃 he was spot on in WWWSK and Chang Long takes on the jokey roles more and more now. In my mind their both typecast (at least the shows i see them in)

I thought he was going to do something silly in EAW but the role was more serious. It took me aback. Will see what he does with this role

you should try chef hua. it doesn't have 2nd FL but have one jealous evil female. It was very satisfying to see…
I liked both Chef Hua and Chef Fang. They are similar (only food!) imo. Chef Hua was a bit more clever (or wised up quickly) that this is a scheming girl, she even warns her 'Sous chef?' stay away she's a scheming girl.

Chef Fang had this irritating habit of seeing good in people. Clearly, Fang Yao had bad intentions. She even spread that she helped a lot with the Princess and didnt get credit. Chef Fang didnt blame the 2FL and carried on. CONTRAST to Hua who (with help of the village) put an end to it.

Am I the only one that really dislike the second female lead:1. She claims she feels bad for the female lead ->…
I ddin't get she's a nice girl. the ML literally said it, she nice on the outside and muddy brain. We (audience) knew who she was and the ML (family and servants). It's the community that can't make her into an indecent person as they put value on (previous) reputation, her family status, his old reputation etc etc.

at first, I did feel bad for the 2nd ML. He deserved a nicer pairing but when he lectures her, he seems to understand her and that's the director saying 2FL would be ideal for him. Their conversation was pretty clear that there is a tacit understanding, so could be the ying and yang.

Her character and actions were a bit strange. 2ML did say you've been hanging around in your little world and so need to grow up. - stop the nice girl act!

Li Wei's father is a low rank officer, therefore, she can only be a concubine, not main wife. The family downplay…
Maybe it's translated wrong. But she is the wife. A) there is an introduction scene and shes introduced as wife and 2nd prince as concubine (2nd). B) they move into the mansion and she "organises the banquet" c) when the dai state was flooded she had a lot of money to contribute. So cant be poor background. All leading to believe shes the wife

I'd say the angst lasted for about 15 minutes of episode 12, give or take
I honestly think ot's the FL interpretation of the character. Some of the things she does I would normally eye roll and say here we go again playing silly. But her purity and humbleness makes it good watch. I love it

Don't worry it will going to increase soon. Even some popular drama do experience the same thing when the drama…
yeah i vote when its finished. I started watching it by pure accident. Now im going to have to stop at ep 18 and come back in 2 weeks. I love it so much though. Its perfect - comedy, different perspective etc...but i have a sneaky feeling it's going to get political. the 2nd Prince character seems too dark to just be doing small attacks. I hate when shows change so need to pull back now! lol

I first saw her in Novoland and fell in love with her voice.
is it her voice or uses same voice actress? I fell in love with the combo in Novoland. Happy to see her again. I kept thinking she's typecast and the 2nd Prince will change and be nice to her but i dont think so. Completely differwent character

I love the princess I just wish she didn't hit the guy so much. Strong and capable I like her a lot.
Yeah me too. I dont think abuse is funny. The writer draws parallels in a way. When the concubine got hit by the 2nd Prince it was really serious/bad. But when the Princess is doing it "its funny!'. I dont like that at all. A lot of scripts are doing that nowadays making jokes about hitting male spouses. It was never funny when it was women why is it when its male.

Low budget drama that kept me interested but writers lost their way half way through and just said let's just…
good short dramas out there. Not this one.... Saying crash and burn is nicely putting it

does it have a love triangle?
...you wouldn't call it a love triangle. Its more like a delusional man who thinks love is a competition and as he is the 'top man' only a better man can replace him. Not quite like the 2ML's in Cdramas (they are just insane!). He is a prejudiced, frustrating way of thinking ex. Trying not to say any spoilers.

fl is super annoying! she is sulking like a toddler every episode and i swear her "what should i do?/tell me what…
Mmmm, i actually think that was the only relatable thing she did. Very typical when in a suffocating situation. My friends and I can go over a detail for days and flip/flop so much.

I give a few things a pass because the culture constraints are a big play too, I really enjoyed her growth, her laughter and resolute as time went on. She made the decision and stuck with it. The way she stood up to her parents. From all the kdramas and cdramas I've seen that was unfilial ( a word I only learnt in these dramas!).

I come from a culture that society doesn't really determine my love life or etiquette. I actually got frustrated with people around her including her ex - in my world I wouldn't even speak to him after I say 'boy bye'. But you get a real feel of their society.

Don't give up on it keep going. I've actually fallen in love with Han Ji MIn. Through this ive seen more of her dramas on Netflix (including Unfamiliar Wife. Im not the audience but loved it really think its her.)

Jin Zi Xuan reminds me so much of actress Ding Yi Yi - even their facial expressions are similar.
Yes facial expressions. I thought Sweet Sweet. She is unlucky though the dub actress assigned to her, A whiney baby doesnt do justice to Ding Yi Yis efforts

I thought for a while that it said Astros cha eun woo... 😅🤣 When I was just reading the main title page
Cha Eun Woo when that happens a) i dont know how the female fans will survive - crazy stalking b) crazy fans! I'm not like a big fan but whenever I see any media associated with him - the fans are fanatics, they think they are married to him.

I think he will have to get with someone when he is older (40 plus) and a female in the same industry - like how hyun bin and son ye jin got together. How do netizens treat non-celebrity fans? Maybe a non celebrity fan who stays at home?

Title 20th Century Girl Spoiler
It could have been a dumbass ending like "do do sol sol la la sol." I would have accepted that better. She didn't…
Mmm you have to look at the lens you are watching this. I was watching this with different generations of people. My nana said once people moved the country that's the end and she also had the war, my mum lost contact with her bff who moved to Australia (airmail days), my sister found the pager thing hilarious ( i never used one so was clueless), payphones existed but we had a landline - in my teens we already had 'brick phone'. My other friend was laughing as she was talking about queuing at certain times to talk to BF on payphone? No. I'm the hi5 platform and MSN just before FB - '91 baby... so FB would have put us back in touch. My lens i would say doesn't make sense.

There is a lot of foreshadowing - when she is trying to get the details for her bestie. She worked so hard and even went through the directory on a pay phone just to get a page number?...and this is in Korea what more NZ? There is a bit he is talking to his dad who is never home - very likely the BF went asking and couldnt find the old man. She only had an email and phone no responses there. Also when she's looking for him she calling on a payphone. Like this is frustrating. We are from a time when a group text can find anyone!

Other than showing up in NZ what could she possibly do? I doubt she went to his house? Korea very conservative I doubt she would have opportunities to do that etc etc.

I didn't know it was a sad ending! I avoid usually. I cried so much after.

Shout out to KYJ. She is an amazing actress, its because of her it all got me invested. I kept thinking wow and then boom!
