Finally someone with an ounce of brain. Couldn't agree more. I had nothing against Xi Wei too until I watched GOTD haha. I think a different actress would have done a better job. This character's writing was poor to begin with so you need a certain level of really mature subtle acting to even attempt to save it.

Thinking everything is about you, and getting triggered by things that don’t even have anything to do with you, and then personally attacking the other person because of it. If you really read 100 of reviews before watching the dramas you would know that bout 50% of MDL is obssesed teenage boys/girls who only watch these dramas because of their crushes. As for the comments, you literllay need to do 2 mouse wheel scrolls here (don’t even need to go the the reviews) to see those comments: “ Watching it for ....Go Youn Jung..she is cute”. And those were the people I was talking about. All I was saying is you can’t really trust those ratings so blindly - because you were flaunting these stats aroud as if they were an absolute truth. So realax darling not everything is about you. You are not the main character here. And if you don’t think giving a drama a 9 after complaing massively about it (just because you like the main actress) is idiotic then you are part of the problem.

Interesting stats, and you actually pointed out a really interesting point. A lot of 8 and up ratings despite lamenting second half still gave it such high score (which in my opinion is absolutely idiotic) so does it actually count as a good score, or is it just employing selective ignorance based on the score alone instead of the actual content? Same as those same people still rating drama fairly high because their fave crush was ML/FL?

The first 5,6eps were honestly a near perfect 10/10. The rest if I could rate it -10 I would. The problem lies with the fact that Hong sisters (beside their usual borderline cheating, rape etc fetishizing) again broke the sacred rule of screenwriting - don't break your own worldbuilding rules. And not only they did that, they did it in the most arrogant pretentious way possible. For the shock factor, trivializing serious mental condition such as DID. It's not that the genre changed midway through, and it's not that I'm a die hard rom-com fan, it's how and why they did it. Completely breaking our trust (and the worldbuilding rules) thinking they are supper clever catching us off guard and mistaking convoluted obscurity with depth, shock factor with true emotional impact and brain rot plot armor with conflict while employing every dirty, nasty trick to directly emotionally manipulate the audience. Either they are aware what they are doing which makes them at best nasty sleazy snake oil salesmen or if not, they are seriously mentally disturbed. Either way I'm never watching anything of theirs ever again.

How does this drama have 8.4 after all the reviews which all rightfully agree on that stupid second half?!

Can some recommend somehing simillar to what what this show could have been - what was happeing in first 5,6eps?

T.H.I.S!!!! Pure gold! One of the best articulated, mic-drop reviews I have ever read! And I agree with every single word you said. When I was reading it, It was like an interpreter, interpreting all my inner feelings that I couldn’t express myself. The only thing I personaly think is that this betrayal was so deep, arrogant and insidious that despite first 6 episodes being near perfect 10 the way they backstabbed us with a self-righteous smile in ep7 and ep8 undid all of that. Therefore If I could give this series -10 I would, but since we can’t it deserves a big fat 1.

But that's like saying The Kardashians are great because they pour tons of money into a high-level production. And from the story telling perspective this is a big mess - full of plot armor, completely ridiculous almost cartoonish Villain as a character paired with an actor that is nowhere near the charisma required to pull it off. So even though you are right in that from production perspective this is a high-end polished production, as a whole (which is what the rating is about no?) how can it be a 9?

Altho I love Yoo Ah In and the movie was funny and the chemistry was great, the movie was a total mess. From pacing to plot holes bigger than grand canyon. So no the movie was nowhere near 9. All good if you've enjoyed it that much but to think everyone should objectively rate it 9 is quite delulu.

And many more delulu fangirls/fanboys who's lack of IQ, taste and any critical thinking is more than evident when they don't have the mental capacity to to engage in a constructive debate so all they can do is resort to name calling, like we're in a kindergarten.
