Drama follows the donghua to a tee. You should start from EP63. That's the teleportation goodbye old world scene.…
Haha you're kidding right?! There's quite a few differences between the two. One of the major ones is how much they milked Mo Caihuan in the live action because they were so "desperate" for a "love interest". In donghua all of her story was told through flashbacks and even that was bare minimum. No stupid 5 wifes, no endless scenes at their manor etc.
Couldn't agree more. Completely ruined K2 for me. To the point I'm avoiding anything with her in significant role like a plague. The only thing she was barely bearable in was Confidential Assignment. People can find her pretty, easy on the eyes, good energy or whatever, but objectively nobody can say she's a great actress. Unless you're a brain rotten fanboy/fangirl then you are part of a problem and outside of: "I love her" your opinion is worth shit.
Can anyone tell me where does this fit in the donghua? I know it's quite different from donghua but how much? And which is the closest episode after the last episode here?
zhou ye debuted in word of honor? I didn't know! well, to me, she lacks not talent, but feeling. its like she's…
Lol you say this about zhou ye but proceed to say you like tian xiwei (facepalm). The pinnacle of her acting is the same dumb "innocent" look on her face that she's trying soo hard to make you like her. Like that is a substitute for good acting.
If you loved this drama I highly recommend watching the donghua. It is absolutely amazing! And we just got served of of the best episodes 156 of the entire series. I can't recommend it highly enough. Especially if you can't wait for season 2 and beyond of live action haha
nah the romance here is how it is in the donghua..
Havenāt watched the donghua, altho might start now as I canāt wait for second seasonš So this comment was based on the TV series as a standalone piece. The problem or the difference I think is the meddium. Like if you just look at probability of an average drama getting a second season is not that high. Even it it does, most of the time they change the actors/directors so the second season is not really second season but some weird remake. Like duoluo continent, fight breaks sphere even Evernight etc. So the long romance arc from the source material doesnāt really make sense for this medium.
Wow what a season finale! It literally saved the series! The chemistry/bond between Han Li and Wang Chan was undeniably electrifying - that last look in Wang Chan eyes - blew me away š¤Æ! But they seriously dropped the ball with the whole romance thing. This could have been a perfect 10/10 if they just left the romance out of it. First with over-forcing Miss Mo, then also making Nangong Wan into an emotional equivalent of a 3 year old spoiled brat. Quite disappointing and off-putting. Like we waited 20 eps for this?! Might as well make him and Wang Chan a thing haha. Altho I quite liked Senior Chen, her scenes were also quite useless in the grand scheme of things. If everything else was in order then they would be a nice addition but in the current state they were just taking away from what could have been a more productively utilized screen time. Nonetheless the spirit of the series was really poignant and coupled with an amazing OST it touches deep, and poses/delivers some really profound questions/realizations about life and immortality. Despite all the aforementioned shortcomings this has to be TOP3 pure "non-romance" cultivation wuxia up to this point.
from what I could gather from donghua and novel fans, nangong really doesn't show up for a long time after their…
Yeah I went to investigate after and learned this. It makes more sense now. But still I think they could have handled it better. By the looks of it the source material - at least first few chapters is totally non-romance. So no need to crowbar more romance into it.
Meanwhile I'm here, cheering for the fact that Cai Huan gets more screen time than 1FL lol
Disagree with op haha Donāt get me wrong. I agree with everything you said. To a certain point. It was super potent when they had their first chance encounter after 10 years. And then they have to say goodbye. We can see HL cares for her and we get to share his/their realization that donāt walk the same path. Itās really heartbreaking. Even from just a platonic perspective. But everything after that just diminishes these heartbreaking moments and itās clearly there because of some ulterior motives not to aid the story.
