Title Ming Dynasty
With Chinese productions, release dates mean nothing :P
Nah, that means nothing unfortunately :( The government can decide whatever they want whenever they want; it's already happened multiple times this week that dramas have been canceled on release day or halfway through airing. With this particular drama (realistic historical of 70 eps), chances are low for it to be aired. I wouldn't believe any air dates until I see it literally on TV myself.

Latest news of this is this was scheduled for summer release, but instead they are replacing its slot with high school/youth dramas.

At the moment, until further notice, this drama is indeed postponed ... (┛ಠ_ಠ)┛彡┻━┻http://ent.163.com/19/0603/22/EGPF258A00038FO9.html
literally THIRTY minutes before the premiere. the gov is really going to the next level.

being an actor in China must suck big time. "Yeah, I'm an actor, I've acted in a tonne of things.... that no one has ever seen because they've never aired, so just use your imagination and consider me Oscar-worthy and hire me" LOL
On Novoland: Eagle Flag Jun 3, 2019
I woke up to rumours that this drama’s TV broadcast has been canceled last minute. Not sure if it’s true or not, or if it will still air online as planned. *fingers crossed* Oi these times...... dramas keep being dropped last minute left and right

Isn't the release date 9th June?
With Chinese productions, release dates mean nothing :P

So recently at Anhui TV's conference, they announced that this drama is in the lineup for the 3rd/4th quarter of 2019. It's a possibility that this will air in the next 6 months.

Does anyone know which site subtitles are uploaded the fastest to?
Since it's officially on Viki, likely them. All the other 3rd party sites steal subtitles from Viki, VIU, Youtube, or from fansubbers, they don't sub anything, only steal haha.

Moment of silence for withs2 and all the great people who brought them to us... my first (k)drama was Autumn in my Heart in 2000ish?? I was WAY too young for it but.... in hindsight maybe that’s why I was such an angsty kid lmfao too much makjang in my head. tbh I think jdramas have remained largely consistent in story style.... because jdramas are the OG in storytelling hands down.

AimH is actually a good example of two things I’m glad we’ve moved past: females aren’t always fainting “out of exhaustion” & everyone and their mother isn’t getting leukemia. Although... other illnesses have gotten trendy, sigh.

As an adult now, I don’t think I can honestly make it past a few episodes of some of my old favourites... they’re too much lol. When I was a kid I obviously wasn’t interested in political or complex business plots but now I prefer them and don’t like simple guilty pleasure romcom plots. I prefer minimal romance these days and I care about strong friendships/sismances over everything. There seems to be less FF hate nowadays at least.

I don’t think dramas have gotten better or worse to be honest, I just think times have changed and stories have evolved to reflect that. Life isn’t static after all. For every good old drama, there’s a good new drama. For every bad old drama, there’s a bad new drama. Like they say in the movie Midnight in Paris: “Nostalgia is denial. ... The name for this denial is Golden Age thinking - the erroneous notion that a different time period is better than the one ones living in - its a flaw in the romantic imagination of those people who find it difficult to cope with the present.”

I love the cast, the music, the imagery (props to the lighting crew for the night scenes).... but the slow-motion editing aksjhdakjsdas WHY it's so hilarious that even tho I shouldn't be laughing I can't help cracking up because it's so ridiculous.
On My True Friend May 17, 2019
You can thank the ongoing US-China trade war for this drama being aired early LOL. The government is replacing/canceling all dramas and films that have to do with America in a positive light.

It's not just you! I consider myself fluent in Chinese but I am waiting for Eng subs to enjoy this one because I don't want to miss any of the complicated conspiracy details.

When is this drama released?
I doubt it will come out in 2019. If lucky, 2020 sometime... if not, it'll fall into the black hole where hundreds of other dramas are waiting.

Title The Thunder Spoiler
The acting in this is so good; hopefully the plot doesn't pull a Drug Hunter and remains good through the whole 48 episodes, you never know..... it is based on a true story though so hopefully that helps the screenwriter decide not to drink any Koolaid. I like the down-to-earth production quality too. Reminds me of the good old OG 重案六组 days when police dramas were actually about crime instead of romantic drama (looking at the hot mess that is 因法之名/In the Name of Law). Not to get overly political here but I miss pre-XJP dramas a lot, especially in this genre.
On Different Dreams May 6, 2019
this drama is so promising! i love these types of stories set in this particular time in history. it's always confusing at first and you stumble around with the info because there were so many domestic and international conflicts and groups with their own interests, but it really does get easier as you watch and you learn a lot too.

Title Brotherhood in the War Spoiler
Added a synopsis, I'll also translate the character descriptions under a spoiler if anyone wants to know more
Ma Zhongqiu: The Ma family's eldest son. Calm, unswerving man who cares a lot for his family. His father abandoned them years ago, so he's been the head of the family for a long time.

Ma Guyu: Ma family's second son. A cultured, refined gentleman. He falls for Nan Yan at first sight, but unfortunately she and his older brother are in love.

Ma Chuxi: Ma family's third son. A handsome, sunny person. He is the most spoiled child in the family, lively, kind and optimistic.

Nan Yan: An educated young woman. She's a good person, optimistic, and loyal. She's also not afraid of a little danger. She ran away from home to be a war nurse to escape an arranged marriage.
