'jumping to comclusions' is one of the most annoying things in romance dramas lol good it ain't here.
I'm just really happy they truly seemed to liked each other. Too many times we get BLs with characters not feeling like a couple at all outside of the kissing scenes...

probably they choose someone that suited with the song over me so the result becomes like that, or probably somehow…
I don't hate Zhang Hao, but I overall think most of the trainees lack leadership qualities and many want to be leaders only if everyone goes smoothly and with no issues and then they claim they can be a good leader, and when there is a chance of problems showing up, no one wants to take a role. And the thing is, literally everyone is a good leader is everyone is cooperative. The whole point of being a leader is managing the team and knowing how to deal with difficult situations.

And many trainees just pick the leaders from trainees that rank high, not checking if they have the proper skills to actually lead. Like Sung Han Bin being a leader now, when his personality is more on the avoiding conflicts and he really always tries to be nice and not hurt other people's feelings. And that led to the whole issue with Matthew and his parts...

I guess they are so close to the finale it's the time they start to be more selfish - and I mean most trainees.
Kicking out Woong Gi after he gave so many ideas, and then the leader? And the issue with Matthew and his lines. It's a natural thing - they get more pressure as they get closer to the end.

I said it, and I'm saying it again - Ji Woong would be a good leader. At first I thought Han Bin was a good choice, but half way through last episode and now this episode I feel like he is more of a great teacher rather than a great leader. I think maybe picking Ji Woong would have been better for the team.

I FUCKING KNEW! I heard the preview of the song back in the ep and I knew this is PHan Bin song. It fits his vibe and dancing style so well. Glad to know he actually liked it a lot too and even used it in between his EG practice.

Not gonna lie, the team leader picking for Over Me put Zhang Hao is a bit of a bad light. And it's all with how they edited it, and his behavior is understandable, but I'm still meh about the whole team's behavior. No one wanted t be the leader when it was 10 members so Jong Woo took the role and organized the whole team and thanks to his leadership they were able to even practice this smoothly, then they kicked him out, and now only when the job is easy, Zhang Hao was like - yeah I can be the leader. This whole bit left bad taste in my mouth, not gonna lie.

Kamden and his bro needs their own reality tv show. These short interactions were so funny 😂

That one time mnet did something right with the evaluation being the letters from the audience to the trainees.

i want to finish the ep but i need to go to work 🙂

I mean, they realized only later that it would be a better overall picture if matthew and seungeon switched the roles < this is not quite true. Han Bin said he had the feeling they should switch when they were picking roles again, but he hesitated to say anything and wanted to practice a bit more first. At the end of the day, it was Ji Woong who brough it up first. I don't really blame Han Bin here, but I honestly think while he is AMAZING teacher, he is not as good of a leader. I had the feeling that they should have picked Ji Woong as the leader since he is better at managing people and resolving issues, and these are more important qualities in a leader than good dancing/singing or even teaching skills.

also the fact that gyuvin who kept is rank constant at 6th place CAN drastically drop to rank 16????
that is actually not that surprising. If he was 4th, 5th or 6th member a lot of people voted for in the last round, but does not have that many people who have him in top3, it would make sense he would drop so much.

Basically a lot of trainees might have a lot of funs overall, but not a lot of "solo stans" that will vote for them with the smaller number of trainees they can vote for each round. I assume the rankings will change quite a bit too when it will become only 1 trainee vote.

Not gonna lie, I love D1 😂 He tried to say in the nicest way that he did not really like the song 🙂 Also, it's honestly adorable how nervous they were.
I think they did as well as they could with song like that. I just really don't like the song. I think the pre-chorus melody is weird, it does awful job to build up to a fun and sweet chorus. The whole performance kind of had an encore stage vibe on a concert., Especially by the end when they interacted with audience. The performance has so many fun and memorable highlights, but the song itself is just so... meh. Still it deserves all peak for the performance itself.
I agree with Jay Park - usually good song makes team better, but here the team made the song better.

23:00 - Chamamile
We are looking into laser hair removal 😂😂 Not gonna like, all the funniest teams are left lol
I understand the struggle with not singing with vibrato lol Once you start, you cannot stop. It just becomes the more natural way of singing and ending notes 🙂
THEY ARE SO ADORABLE ON STAGE I CANNOT THEY'RE CUTEST TEAM EVER! They did amazingly good. It worked because they felt confident and had fun, and not uncomfortable doing this cute refreshing concept. Loved it. Injun was the MVP if the performance for me, he ate it.

15:00 - It's You
The key is ridiculous. I think the song producers need to be a little bit more aware that their songs will be in fact performed live and not just sang at studio 1000 times each line until you hit it right and then mix all the best takes into one track...
I would be lying if i said i enjoyed this scene. They were just so tense and nervous, I also became tense and nervous. 🥲

13:00 - Criminal
J-min looking GOOD.
That was such a good intro for the choreo! HAN GYEOL IS SO GOOD!
Okay, but the performance was meh. I don't think they committed enough to the werewolf theme... if they did not say it, I would not guess it myself 😂 The dancing was good, rapping was good, singing was good, but the expression was lacking. With this styling and outfits it game me more of a MJ Thriller 😅 But then the song was also... kind of on one note with zero highlights. And the good parts of the choreo had the vocalist at the front, who obviously had to limit their movements a bit to hit the notes so at the end it was a proper but not exciting performance. I think a lot of judges were just looking at Han Gyeol and yeah he delivered, but as a team... a lot of team lacked the feel of the song.

14:00 - Fever
Jun Hyeong has the body to pull off that look tho. Yes, thank you.
THAT FUCKING CLOSE UP ZOOM ON JUN HYEONG'S CHEST RIGHT BEFORE THE PERFORMANCE START I AM FUCKING DEAD OMG 😂😂😂😂😂
Listen, the best things about this performance were Prince and Jun Hyeong's chest 🤡
Overall... fine. The chorus of the song is so meh, but the verses had quite a few good highlight. The ad-libs by the end were slightly unstable, but he pulled it off by the end so.

I feel like everyone who says the original webtoon did not have a kiss that's why this drama did not have a kiss must have not read the webtoon themselves and just says what they heard from others.
While the main story did not have any kiss, the bonus chapter DID.
And the drama includes both main story (episodes 1-6) and bonus chapter (episode 7).

Why I personally had issue with the lack of kiss?
Because they literally ONLY changed the part of the plot that included the kiss - the bonus chapter. That's the only part of the drama that is completely different from the original material. If they did not want to include the kiss, they could have easily end the show on episode 6 and it would be perfect and I would have no issue with the lack of kiss.

I'd also like to add to the comment above: even the original source material didn't have a single kiss scene.…
bonus chapter did have a kiss and episode 7 is the bonus chapter. they followed the plot of the main story so well, but then completely changed it for the bonus chapter.

It's literally an adaptation of a manhwa that had no kisses on it, they were faithful to the original material…
Your argument makes the case actually worse 🙂Because while the 28 chapters of the main story did not have any kissing, and bonus chapter did. The adaptation follows the main story in 6 episodes and episode 7 is the epilogue, which would be the bonus chapter. So it makes them actually look worse, if they "were faithful to the original material" up until the moment kiss happened, and only changed the one bonus chapter and made something completely different than the OG work. Because the epilogue in the drama not only does not add the kiss that happened in the bonus chapter, but also changes the way the characters and the relationship progressed. So then the question is, why were they faithful to the source material ONLY until the kiss happened in the source material?

episode 6 ending would actually fit better with what was shown in the webtoon, even if we include the bonus chapter. It did nit really have this happy ending like the drama had,,, not this to this extend, it was far more ambiguous.

I don't mind this type of open ending (what happened in ep 6) - it's open, but it also has direction.

episode 7 was so Disney and out of character it honestly felt disconnected from the whole story 🥲

and yeah, this is typical issue not only in BLs but many other romance shows - they showcase truly serious emotional issues, and they magically just go away as the show progresses and they are not needed anymore, especially by the end. It's the same case here. Which is even more disappointing, because in original work the whole bonus chapter was basically about TH internal struggles even as they are dating 😭

that hi5 is iconic. The memes party we had on feeds on mdl when the last episode happened was so much fun 🤣

the kiss scene was placed in the first place because of fan pressure < yeah but for me more reasons not to include epilogue at all. if it only existed because of the fans pressure, then including it in drama but without the aspect that "fans" wanted to see the most is just dumb, coz it's neither fan service, nor does it make the original story better etc...

EXACTLY! Honestly for me the bonus chapter in webtoon was sad. It basically concluded on TH deciding not to share his feelings and insecurities because he was afraid Da Yeol
would be disappointed and leave him. I loved how them getting together did not mean all their issues are magically gone. But the drama just lacked that complexity and nuance 😭

yeah but then it feels like they made it not follow the original work in ONLY that one chapter to avoid the intimacy and it's fair to be disappointed and point that out. It's not like the source material did not have kissing scene, they just decided to completely change the story at the end to remove the kissing scene 🤡

I would be 100% fine with no kissing, if it ended on episode 6 and we did not get that epilogue part in episode 7. Honestly, not only that. I would be fine with no kissing scene in epilogue if they followed how the characters were written in the bonus chapter - they literally talked there about how they have been dating, but it feels more like they are friends and not lovers.
On A Shoulder to Cry On Mar 29, 2023
About the lack of kissing scenes - i don't need them in romance. BUT I do have problem if the lack of kissing seems to come not from the story not needing the kiss, or the source material not having the kiss, but from awkward casting, which is the case here.

While the original webtoon does not have the kiss, bonus chapter does. And episode 7 is basically the "bonus" epilogue. Personally, I think this show would have been a lot better if they actually ended it on episode 6 and that semi open ending, and I would have no issue with the lack of kiss then.

The whole drama followed the webtoon quite closely plot wise (changing some details to make it more approachable), but then the epilogue has more or less nothing to do with what was presented in the bonus chapter in webtoon (not only the kissing scene wise, but how the characters behave, interact, their current situation etc) and I just question, why? Why they followed the whole story so closely, just to change the epilogue like that?

it's okay. Honestly, I would like this show a lot more if they ended it on episode 6 and that hug at the end. I think it would fir the story and the characters journey more. And I would have no issue with the lack of kiss, coz it would make sense in that context.

you are wrong here. Episode 6 is the last chapter of the webtoon, while episode 7 is the epilogue, which was supposed to follow the bonus chapters (and here they did not really follow anything that happened in the bonus ones, compared to doing rather good job following the story of the previous chapters)
