No they would not. He had the weapon. As long as both of them were alive and in love they could meet whenever they wanted. An open ending would be if she didn't remember him and the last shot would be him introducing himself to her once again. Would she fall in love with him? That's an open ending. There's nothing open about what we saw today LMAO.

No it's because she was inside the space, while the worlds were corrected.
Right after the killing took place the kid with the yoyo wonder if he would allow it to happen (her remembering him) or not. That was his whole part in the drama.
