It’s actually worse in the book where the mom had SY framed as a traitor and then he nearly died in the interrogation process. 😢

The original author indicated what the spoilers were going to be about: episodes 33-40. If someone didn’t want to know about those episodes, they should know not to click open the spoiler cut. frankly, even without the heads up, anyone who clicks open any spoiler cut assumes their own risk. It’s not as if the original author left her comment open for all to see.

Haha. What's even cuter is when he goes to see her later and she ends up pushing him out the door because he still refuses to tell her about the past. The way he puts himself up against the door to ask, "But we still haven't broken up, right?" is hilarious/adorable.

And I agree, XQ's upset on this occasion is quite understandable/relatable. I hope people aren't upset with her over this!

The fight starts off about the job - SY made a decision about his next steps without discussing it with XQ. But ultimately the fight was about the fact that he doesn't discuss things with her, such as the things from his past. He thinks he's doing it to relieve pressure from her (and in the case of his past, protect her from the truth), but she feels alienated when he doesn't share his burdens with her.

As for what XQ's mom did to SY, first, she messed with his physical examination which prevented him from getting into the school he'd wanted after re-doing his senior year of high school. And then after he overcame that and was doing well in the military, she arranged for someone to purposely provoke SY into hitting him, and then had the altercation reported to the military, resulting in him being dismissed.

I'm just going by what the dictionary told me for that one because police/legal words like that are not part of my every day vocab (thank goodness ;-)), but the exact phrase that the policeman used when he explained why they were releasing mom from custody was: qubaohoushen, which according to my dictionary means: release from custody, subject to provision of a surety, pending investigation (PRC).

LOL, i know... I kind of head tilted when the policeman said that too because we never got any indication that she had some sort of chronic illness. She took pills, but so did XQ's dad, and at their age, it's pretty common for them to be taking daily pills but that doesn't necessarily equate to serious, chronic illness either. But maybe it's enough for her to be advanced in age and have, say, hypertension for her to be released - dunno.

His character didn’t exist in the book. In the book, a young firefighter from a different fire unit died during a rescue mission.

My understanding is although she was released, the investigation is still pending. That is to say she doesn’t have to remain in jail while the investigation goes on. And the only reason they allowed this was because she turned herself in and because she had a chronic illness.

They won’t all be subbed until Thursday.

25, if I remember correctly for when they get together officially. No break-ups. They do have one brief fight around eps 35-36, but it is emphasized they are not breaking up - just working thru communication issues. The leads only ever have feelings for each other.

Viki should only have 34 episodes at the moment. Additional 2 eps will be released every day until Thursday when the drama will be complete (according to the VIP schedule, which is what Viki is following). The remaining 8 episodes (33-40) were, however, made available this past Saturday to Mango TV users if they wanted to pay extra for an Express option - which, people did, and then those eps were ripped and uploaded online. Notably, there is also a 3rd schedule (for free users) and it is waaay slower.

None - the high school scenes are sprinkled throughout the drama through flashbacks (and I don't even think if you gathered them together, they'd make up one episode).

Just ignore the haters. For every anti who doesn't think YY's tall enough there are at least 2 more in their place who thinks he's of perfect height and gorgeous. Haters will exist everywhere, especially when someone is as popular as YY is, so the best thing to do is not give them any attention, Reactions only fuel their negative behavior.

Her hand is slashed when she tries to help out another doctor who is dealing with an escalating situation involving a drug-seeking patient. Fortunately, it will not affect her work once healed.
