And Viki is still not giving us any new subbed Episode in days, that's so upsetting.. I just wanna finish this…
Please don’t blame Viki. They have a licensing agreement with the original web streaming platform for this drama in China, which sets their airing schedule. They’re following the schedule they have. They’re not purposely withholding eps! We will have new eps to watch soon and then the drama will be over - we should feel sad about that! :)
Almost a wk a later & ep33 still don't have sub ugh!!!!
Please don’t feel upset or frustrated by the lack of subs. It’s following the original schedule. The only reason unsubbed episodes were released a week ago at once is because the original web streaming service released an express/VVIP option. It’s a way for them to earn money on top of what they were already making from those who paid for VIP access to watch eps first. Notably, the VIP schedule for unsubbed episodes finished on Thursday (if I remember correctly) and the subbing schedule has always been behind the unsubbed episodes for this drama.
While I know everyone’s disappointment over the lack of subs is just because we all love the drama and want to watch it as soon as we can, I do want to emphasize that all platforms have schedules that they follow for each of their dramas. Let us respect that. :)
Long answer: Hong Dou and XZY are interested in each other, but don't live in the same place so when Hong Dou's vacation ends she returns to her parents' hometown. Before she left, though, there was an inn that was being built until its owners ran into personal problems and couldn't continue with that project. After thinking about it lots, Hong Dou decides to take up the project. With Nana as her partner/co-investor, she returns to take over the inn, which allows her and XZY to finally be together officially!
The last bit of Ep 40 involves a time skip to one year later -- the village is doing well with lots of visitors/tourists and Hong Dou opens her inn officially. Her parents also come to visit and the families from both side finally get to meet (which means marriage won't be far behind). :)
I have so many conversations on the list. But I want to mention one particular conversation due to a special reason.(Ep…
@sweet_dream, I had the exact same response to that scene as you! And then I mentioned it to a friend and their response was, "Oof, that resonates..." I wonder how many of us will watch that moment and think of ourselves and the phone conversations we have with our parents. Truly, it's moments like these that make the drama shine!
I also find so many little lessons to be learned through this drama. A recurring them that stood out to me was the notion that one must work hard, put in the effort, and lay the groundwork before expecting to be able to fly. We saw that in so many aspects of this drama - whether it was in one's career, the building up of the village, or something else. But I especially loved it when Granny said to XZY in Ep 27, that back when she and her husband were young, they may started out with nothing, but they understood one thing. Whatever they wanted, they had to work hard to achieve it for themselves because you can't wait around for other people to give it to you.
Is there any breakup or not and if there's one how long ?
No, the one separation happens before they are dating and it's not because they get into a fight, have a break up, or anything like that. It's because she was only ever a visitor to his area and so she departed when her scheduled trip ended, but the mutual feelings were already present.
According to the schedule, it is finishing on 1/27 for VIP members (non-VIP members and television viewers finish the drama on later dates). However, an express option was made available on 1/22 (you can think of it as a VVIP option where people pay on top of what they were already paying for the remaining episodes), so that's how all the remaining raw episodes have been made available online.
There is no wedding. But at end, we know that both ML and FL are very stable together, and both working hard on…
Also, with their parents meeting in the last ep, you can imagine their wedding is not too far off in the future. I can understand why they'd want to get their business set up first before thinking marriage -- one big thing at a time!
kindly give me a spoiler about this drama I plan to watch I don't bother about spoilers, kindly share the details1.…
Mains officially start dating in Episode 31. There are no break ups. There's mutual interest for a long time, leading up to Episode 31, but they're in different places in life. The FL was only a visitor to the place where the ML lived, so at the end of her long-term stay, she left in Episode 26. But returned in Episode 30! (And stayed in touch through Episodes 26-30.)
There are no second lead syndromes (for the ML or FL), no annoying exes, no misunderstandings, no angsty plots, and no rushed endings. There is a one year time skip at the end, but it's all presented very naturally.
Teacher Hu was my least favourite since beginning, but his recent interaction with Bai Man Jun and their relationships,…
I think Teacher Hu was hard for us to connect with initially because he was so off-putting upon first meeting. Literally, he'd go in for the hard hugs and all the female residents of the courtyard would hold up their palms, like: Hard. Stop. Please.
But Teacher Hu was a good lesson that actually there can be a lot of goodness in people and sometimes we have to give people a chance.
It made me sad whenever someone left the courtyard... and actually, Teacher Hu's departure kind of hit me the hardest. Because like Nana he'd stayed so long, and he never had thoughts of leaving, so you started to think maybe he'd be a forever resident. But then he made the decision to leave and even though it was the right thing for him, it was still like a small punch to the stomach.
The thing about the courtyard was even though we knew the residents there were only supposed to be temporary, they got along so well you wanted them to stay and be a family. But I appreciate that even though half of them have moved on, they still remember the courtyard and visit. It was especially sweet and awesome the way everyone rushed back to support Nana. That was soooo heartwarming!
And Damai and her dog... lol... has to be one of my favorite combinations. Hahaha.
For anyone who missed it, another song from the soundtrack was released today, "Wind," by Niu Junfeng (actor playing Hu You Yu). It's another great addition to the soundtrack. Can't wait for the last song to be released this week... I love this soundtrack so much.
Ep 40.. Its fine. I also did the same. (I wrote this in another thread, just pasting it here..:D, I'm a bit lazy…
Agreed... there was no real spoiler in skipping to the end. The minute Hong Dou returned to the village, we were assured of a happy ending in that we knew she and A Yao would be together. The only question, at that point, was how were they going to wrap the story up... in a slice of life type of drama like this one, it really could keep going on -- and I wouldn't mind one bit. (Who else is already imagining what marriage, children, etc., would like like for them?) But all good things must come to an end and so that's what I was mostly curious about - how were they going to pull the plug, if you will. Happy to report it was done in a very nice manner, not one of those abrupt endings, but in a nicely wrapped up bow. Very fitting for this drama which has felt like a soothing, gentle gift from the beginning.
I totally understand... that bittersweet moment when there is no more sweetness to taste. Sigh. I've stopped sneak…
I don’t think you have to worry about the subs dawdling. They’re released according to a schedule - whether that’s on Huace’s end through their YT channel or through their contract with Viki. The remaining episodes were released in a “rush” because MangoTV made them available through a VIP/Express sort of option where for an additional fee (on top of what they were already paying to watch episodes first), people could access the remaining episodes immediately.
While I know everyone’s disappointment over the lack of subs is just because we all love the drama and want to watch it as soon as we can, I do want to emphasize that all platforms have schedules that they follow for each of their dramas. Let us respect that. :)
