I'm at episode 9 and tbh I got this far just because of Wang Yi Jun 😭. I squeal every time he appears! 🫠

This is my first period drama from China. I'm always hesitant to watch since I'm aware how long and a feast of dog blood Chinese dramas (and novels) are but I gave this a try and binged watch in just 1 day lol. TBH I tend to get intimidated with period dramas esp from China and prefer modern dramas from them.

I admit I had fast forwarded most of the time and had skipped the eps where the FL had amnesia up until the ML got reborn or something in the moral realm.

I have to agree to some comments here that the second half or the third half or got boring. I enjoyed the first half of it but suddenly got bored a little on the 2nd and last part.

Nonetheless, I don’t regret watching this.

Uh they definitely do follow the novels as far as I know. Yes, they do tweak some things but it still follows the novel.

I watched a clip of that part where the guy was forced to fall on his knee when the other guy snapped his finger. I thought the guy snapping his finger was a bit familiar. I searched then found out it's literally Hierophant from Falling Into Your Smile and YG's first Chinese actor!!! I knew that lips were familiar!

I think this isn't a "new" genre per se with this pair (JD). It's always almost Joong's character that's chasing Dunk's character.

I just finished reading the novel and... it's not so great lol. Another cliché, no angst, fast-paced, and yep, Joong's character is another doting, chasing, and fall-in-love-at-first-sight guy while Dunk's the cute, always loveable one.

I heard there will be special episodes???

Just finished the novel then watched ep7. This is probably my fave JBL this year.

I wasn’t happy with the ending! I didn't feel the emotions I expected to feel from the last 2 episodes. I was really looking forward to this as it started so strong.
