when his studio posted the BE clip of The Double, someone accused him of following sexy underwear accounts on taobao. instead of refuting it immediately, yu zheng said "so what?" so people just assumed it was true (i mean, so what is right but c-ent fancircles are hypocritical about purity and YZ must've known this. like most of them were constantly sexualizing him during The Double and then they went and attacked him for having an actual sex life, allegedly.) WXY sued the person who started the rumor and fans say the account was 10 years old and "Wang Xingyue" didn't exist then so how could it be his account? but it stuck as a way to ridicule him online.

c-ent fandoms are like that. you just learn to ignore it. the most important thing is that the industry continues to support WXY (CCTV loves him at least) but if Yu Zheng keeps pulling stunts like this it'll be hard to find good teams to work with and he'll be stuck in mediocre projects for the next 5 years (which is probably what YZ wants since it earns him money but keeps WXY under his control since none of his other talents are viable MLs at the moment.)

yes, I don't know why Xu Kai is staying with him. let's hope they can escape unscathed.

this is Yu Zheng's MO. he did this to Chen Xiao, Song Weilong and Xu Kai too. Xu Kai is staying for some reason but CX and SWL terminated their contracts eventually. lets hope WXY finds strong backers to help him when its his turn (in about 5 years)

he also started an unnecessary war between Bai Lu and WXY fans over Tang Palace. he's known to be in contact with BL and WJY's big fans who have led hate campaigns against other co-actors so I think this is him leading the WXY fans to attack ZY too. I'm just frustrated that they can't see it and are following what he wants because they feel insulted. all of this behavior is reflecting badly on WXY.

who knows really, WXY himself was last minute casting for The Double (some of the clothes don't fit him properly) and this is slated to start in September/October so there's still a bit of time, but not much)

they were actually okay with her before and when she first got rumored nobody thought it was true. but then the drama announcement got delayed, then cancelled, then delayed again which got WXY's fans mad because cnetz started making fun of him for being "rejected" by Tencent. apparently, ZY is the only FL that YZ never denied and so they think she's forcing herself into the drama and wants first billing. and since they were only tolerating this project because YZ promised this would be WXY's lead drama (after he deleted XH scenes from The Double and blurred the proper billing rank of Perfect Match) they're extra mad that YZ seems to be reneging on his promise to favor ZY instead (but why they're attacking ZY instead of YZ is baffling since this is all based on rumors.)

I liked them in SoT and they're good friends irl so YZ doing this for whatever reason is annoying.

yes if you scroll down I wrote about it in one of my replies in the June update comment. but she's also rumored for another drama and yu zheng is being messy and ignited a fan war so I honestly don't know how true the rumor can be.

yes, if Yu Zheng is to be believed, Tencent bought this for WXY and they all signed the contracts last year. it might be because they're still negotiating with the FL and honestly solo announcements (for a romantic drama at least) are not really respectful to your co-actor.

sigh, I like Ma Shi Ge (he directed The Double's infamous rain scene with beautiful intimacy) but I was hoping they'd get a director from outside of Yu Zheng's influence to help rein him in.

EDIT: confirmed to be announcing tomorrow at 12:15pm China time. hope they announce the director/team as well.

🍉Xing Zhi Wan will be announced on the 23rd during Tencent's Investment Conference. FL is Wang Yinglu. (though some are saying it's not decided yet so Xingyue will be announced alone.)

Yu Zheng's resources are mostly costume dramas so there's nothing we can do. Maybe if Wanted Detective does well, he'll get some offers for suspense shows or hopefully rumors about the modern idol Confession are true and he accepts so at least he can try to get out of his comfort zone. Yes, I like He Lan Dou too but she doesn't seem to have strong backers because she should have gotten a better career after her performance in A Journey to Love.

Anyway, new rumors dropped this morning and apparently since Tencent had a fortune teller tell them that a second collaboration between actors is going to give them a hit, they're trying to get Zhou Ye (she's also rumored for another drama so we'll see. YZ denied ZMY again through his casting company but the melon owners are insisting that he's lying. Maybe Tencent wants her but he doesn't so they're fighting.) I'm actually more interested in who they'll get as a director because this type of story needs a good one.

Finally some movement on Shadow Detective: production company Wanda Pictures held a conference today and they put it on a coming soon lineup together with Love Has Fireworks, Justice's Path with the Youth, and King of Comedy. No platform on the poster but there was a new synopsis (plus a different director and episode count) shared last month. Putting it in under a spoiler comment:

he seems to be busy filming Love in Red Dust this month and said in his anniversary livestream that he's too busy to go to Hi6/Hello Saturday. there are rumors that he's announcing a new business title soon and The Wanted Detective seems to be a drama that iQiyi will drop without much promo (basically to fill the schedule if another drama can't be aired for some reason) so just stay tuned.

WXY also said in the livestream that Xing Zhi Wan is still set for September (but no proper rumors on the FL yet, for the ones that have been mentioned before: Ju Jingyi has been confirmed for 2 other dramas and Yang Chaoyue seems to be doing a movie next so it's not them. Yu Zheng also confirmed that Tencent has the final say on the FL.)

6/18 EDIT: some melons are now saying again that the XZW FL is Zhang Miaoyi but Yu Zheng refuted this rumor a month ago and she's also rumored for another drama. we'll probably know by Tencent's conference on June 23 since she's attending.

+ Wang Xingyue was shooting something yesterday afternoon to late night, it could be a business thing or apparently his usual makeup artist had a livestream that day that they were preparing for a magazine.
