21M is the peak daily view so far but the current Yunhe average is at 7M which is fine for Mango but probably not for Yu Zheng's expectations lol. Kuyun TV ratings is at 0.45% which is not bad.

from his February itinerary, it looks like he's headed to Milan Fashion Week (🍉 Giorgio Armani)!!!

Tang Palace is not a Yu Zheng production, though he seem to has a good relationship with Yin Tao (the director and producer) so that's why it ended up looking like one. YZ technically won't block external dramas because he still needs them for his artists to bring in money and help his other artists get recognition.

The problem is, YZ made a lot of enemies too so some of the big production houses won't use his artists. This limits the value of the scripts being sent to them unless a platform invests in their development (for example, Bai Lu with iQiyi and Xu Kai with Tencent.) Plus YZ is probably arrogant enough to think that his scripts/projects are better than most of the mid idol dramas in the market so yeah, WXY is stuck for now unless enough producers/directors of quality want to work with him. Calming Waves is probably his true first test on whether he can "carry" a drama. Let's hope it succeeds so that iQiyi will give him more projects.

His is a mix of live and dubbed sound. (together with NHJ and LYQ in the cast). He's already being praised for it in China because it's hard to do without getting ridiculed but yeah the consistency of the sound design suffers.

it's actually also MDL's ratings formula. They changed it around 2020 and all of the dramas that didn't have 1000+ ratings plummeted because it uses a Bayesian method that rewards popular dramas. IMDB has a similar formula but it publishes both the weighted average and true average in the statistics page.

from the dubbing credits posted on douban: all 5 sisters are dubbed and the 3 sons in law. NHJ, WXY, and LYQ are not listed so they're speculating they used live/synchronous sound because they're usually credited there too when they dub themselves.
