popularity in china is decreasing fast based on playback data (fans were hoping it would reach 60M/episode but it's trending down so probably not). they seem to be blaming WXY for releasing that clip. but if the "fans" didn't overreact in the first place then it wouldn't be a big deal? seriously the douban group is pages and pages of vitriol so they're the ones to blame for all the negativity.
I heard Wang Xing Yue studio release Xiao Heng's injury bts when XH died on the battle when production team already…
yes I know about the novel ending but I still don't know why people are mad about a possibility that we didn't actually get. the production team changed their minds so it's not a big deal. or maybe i'm just used to my low expectations of cdramas and their rushed endings so it doesn't really bother me.

what story logic? xff gets poisoned, hit in the head, buried alive, magically survives and it's never explained how. so i don't get why it's suddenly against consistency for him to survive the battle. it's even shown in the previous battle that when he kills the commander everyone stops fighting. duke su can fly so maybe he looked up at the clouds and whooshed away (tongue in cheek joke but still...) I enjoyed the show a lot but it was never serious about logic.

Does the timeline even matter? whenever they changed their minds, they changed it and the happy ending is canon. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind was also supposed to have a depressing ending but the director decided on a hopeful one instead. It happens all the time, I don't get why it's a problem.

I feel like this timeline is wrong because I remember WXY was giving interviews way before they shot the extra scenes where he was hinting at a happy ending so they probably changed their minds before it became a hit. Movies and TV shows write/shoot alternate endings all the time. The real ending is the ending we already got.
She just sounds so bitter that TTEOTM has done so well despite the initial mixed reviews. When she trashed it…
it just occured to me that he was similarly bashed during Ashes of Love. People were saying he created drama for himself to get more screentime. All I can say is, it's not his fault the camera loves him lol.
I've watched a bunch of her reviews and while I mostly agree with her callouts on the technical side, the rest is usually a shallow reading of things. It's just very reactive critiquing so I wouldn't go to her if I wanted a nuanced take on dramas.
Anyway, there's a user on reddit who says that an investor sheet was leaked and that's where all this is coming from but they haven't produced a link to the source so we'll see.

I remember people talking twitter about LYX being bashed on weibo for making a lot of suggestions in the BTS clips so maybe rumors spiralled from there and she just ran with it. and yeah he has a tendency to be dramatic sometimes but (1) it's a collaborative medium, it's literally his job to make suggestions, and anyone with a background in production work like she says she does would know this; (2) there's absolutely nothing wrong in an actor investing in their own work. it's why a lot of hollywood actors now are also executive producers but again, that does not make them the only voice in the room; (3) she's acting all snooty when in this business, the goal is to make money. (Like we all know her petty rants earn her more youtube engagement. If she really cared about being a critic, her reviews wouldn't be so shallow.) TTEOTM undisputedly made a TON of money. If LYX was indeed the loudest voice in the room, well then, he was right.

Hmm natapori is not famous the authoritative ones are Yunhe and Cloud. this might be 30 days average when Yunhe…
hmm checked the data group, and their 9.3 data does have LUF at #2 now but at 69.69M (with some comments predicting it'll reach 80M by the end of hot broadcast.) I do remember seeing at least 2 charts (one for the hot broadcast period with TTEOTM at 68.11M and the other one that I assume is total average that's probably the 75M) but I'm using google translate so maybe someone else will be able to clarify in the future.
It's possible that there are some people who genuinely didn't like it. Not everyone has the same taste. It's sad…
Delurking to say I've been an IMDB user for years and I checked the voting stats and there are 2k 10 votes vs 153 1 votes. IMDB has weighted average that supposedly factors in user history and vote spamming so a flood of new users voting 10 might not impact the rating at all. In fact the unweighted mean is now 9.1 but the weighted one is still 8.4, a big gap that means they're probably pulling more weight from the middle votes.
They don't disclose their algorithm so it's hard to say why the average got pulled down but what fans can do that might help: 1) rate other shows so that they don't disregard your vote as spam, don't rate just 1s or 10s either; 2) get more high middle votes probably. even Lie to Love has a higher weighted score because the middle looks more even.
