The most memorable moment of this episode…

The most memorable moment of this episode was their reunion after she returned his umbrella. Their micro-expressions were incredibly satisfying to watch—I could feel SR’s nervousness and see how LZ gradually became intrigued by her. The only downside? Shen Bei. And as for SR’s tearful moment at the hotpot place, I can’t help but feel there were better ways to express her emotions than just crying.

They’re flirting—okay, they kind of were in the previous episode too, but this one? It’s just getting more and more heart-fluttering. I couldn’t stop laughing when SR’s mood shifted so quickly the moment LZ mentioned he didn’t have a girlfriend. But honestly, this is just the tip of the iceberg. There’s so much more to come.

This episode was beautiful, thrilling, and heartbreaking all at once. I can’t get over how LZ didn’t hesitate for a second to take the hit—sacrificing his own shoulder while still shielding SR’s with his other hand, only to end up injuring it as well. That quiet, instinctive protectiveness says so much about him. And also, that fighting scene in front of the hotel was absolutely satisfying.

I have to hand it to Benjamin—he kind of stole the show this episode. He’s just as infuriating as he was in the novel, but deep down, he’s harmless, really. I’m looking forward to seeing more of his chaotic yet oddly endearing friendship with LZ from here on out.

This episode had quite a few comedic moments. While some might find them unnecessary, I personally think they add depth to the story—showing that even amidst the terror of bombing attacks, there’s still room for warmth and a sense of home among familiar faces. It also offers a glimpse of LZ beyond his usual demeanor, revealing a more human side to him and his quiet compassion.

Watching this felt like the book had come…

Watching this felt like the book had come to life, every scene unfolding just as I had imagined. Their first meeting—caught between life and death—was intense, the kind of moment that lingers. Personally, it’s kind of understandable why she developed a crush on him afterward.

Cards are all on the table.

From the first episode, this drama has left a deep impression on me, unexpectedly, I dare say. The one-on-one confrontation between Shaobai and Xu Wei is such a gem. Since their last parting, it seems like the two of them always walk on eggshells around each other whenever they accidentally meet during missions or when someone else mentions their names. I feel like, up until the previous episode, Shaobai still hadn’t given up on him; he was still hoping that Xu Wei would choose the right path and redeem himself. However, what happened in this episode really showed that there’s no turning back in their friendship. What’s done is done, and it seems like Xu Wei really can’t be saved anymore. Kudos to all the actors and actresses, though. The age and generation gap didn’t matter at all—they’re all professionals who know exactly what they’re doing.
