Well, perspectives and expectations can be different. I know how you must feel, yet i have a point that i want to mention. This drama is centered around first love and how lovers cannot move on easily. It's actually bitter and lame, but life is not always beautiful and bubbly. That's the reality of being lovers and the concept of love. There are flaws and cringes in the drama; however, those who have felt the sorrow of breakups and love fully feel this despite the character underdevelopment in the drama. I watch this drama with a couple of friends who have been through sad relationships and we can relate every single episode to our real lives. This is just my idea and i totally understand your point of view.
I watch it on Netflix so i don't know if Viki is subbing it or not, but i figured many simple slangs and words are translated in a confusing way, very wordy to be exact. I used to watch on Viki and their subbing teams are so good.
