A good storyteller always has the unexpected to keep the audience interested. Nice to see this as its been underwhelming with this summer batch of historicals/ xian xia dramas. For me this year, nothing to get excited about which is a shame as it was a thriller ride last year with LlTG and LBFaD.

Great comment, soooo many lead actors cannot act to save even a dreadful plot by looks alone.....do Directors not understand that looks alone is not sufficient for an intelligence audience to give up their time for? I have tried watching a couple of fairly high profile FLs who are attractive, no denial, but their lack of acting skills is a disgrace to a profession in which talent should rise to the top. Alas not so....as they keep getting Lead roles!

I know the feeling.... much as I think hes adorable and handsome I balked at You are Desire. I might give him a break for a few months then return to it.

Woo hoo, you've included many of my favourites that I've watched over the last few years I started on C/K dramas.

This is such an unexpected gem of a drama. Having lost interest in Cdrama historicals this year nothing has really piqued my interest. Yes there have been some good Xian xia fantasies like Starry Love and a couple of highly debatable ones TTEOFM....but have been looking for an upfront good storyline with a good dose of realism thrown in with mature actors. I was hesitant with FSF given a couple of recent unmentionables so tuned in for JT..... I'm very pleasantly surprised and enjoying this. I do hope it gets more viewers in China/Asia and international audiences too.

This guy is a star... look at his filmography and credits. Stellar ratings. Really interested to see what drama he choses next.

Like you, I got this feeling that he will die in the end. I haven't read the book so that may be different.

I feel your pain. I really like the Leads and enjoyed PGY in Unexpected Falling and so wanted to watch him again. I've also seen a number of dramas with such wasted endings that it leaves a bitter taste in my memories. I realise that writers want to be clever and have unexpected twists to keep the audience in suspense but from what commenters are saying and you sound an intelligent group..... you've insulted our patience and intelligence if you use a very ANTIQUATED and OVERUSED trope of amnesia. Audiences are so over it.

Yes, I felt the same. There was so much NOT to like about it but I kept on watching for the Leads.

Right, I'm at Ep 30 and given these comments this will be the end of my viewing. There's an article on K dramas which have a good story/acting but hugely disappointing ending betraying the quality of the entire story e.g Reborn Rich, 25 21 etc. Maybe this could be an example of good C dramas with disappointing endings list.

Directors, please give these two Leads MORE roles as they have a beautiful charm that translates well on screen. They act so effortlessly and natural.
