I'm not sure if I'm going to watch if one of the Leads die. I've seen too many C dramas where you get invested in a character then wham they're dead.

Yes, you have a point. Those "lost bits' you talk about would give us more clues as a lot of assumptions have to be made so far.

I agree. This drama may have been quite palatable if it had been released in 2019. 3-4 years make a huge difference in fast changing culture and values. I do like the ML so hooked on to see what this was about. When dramas like "Meet Yourself"etc are released ( script writing,production values,budgets are at different level) there is no comparison and so people get frustrated. Premise of story is good but script development lets it down.

I think part of the script issue is that this drama was made pre 2019 and only released now. During this time more authentic and realistic quality plots and writing have been shown e.g. Meet Yourself thus its put this drama at a disadvantage. I agree it makes this look subpar whereas if it was released in 2019 it may have got a better reception?

Who does not adore "Meet yourself" Ah Yao..... truly, imo, the ML summit of all C drama leads. The confession scene by the lake has to be the best I've seen, so simple yet lyrical. He conveyed more than any other ML I've seen so far, the depth,honesty and purity of his love . Who wouldn't want that!

Yes, I'm hanging in there to find out. Please don't make him needy or have some seedy backstory. I recognise this actor and hes competent. Hes got a good body of work. I was on the fence about this drama as I've come from Meet Yourself but lets see for a few more episodes.

Ep 11.... FINALLY... now thats a SML worthy of screen time. Hope hes a real rival....but we all know... the heart wants what it wants.....

I've just finished Ep 7 of 2 emotionally underdeveloped people ( it is a rom com drama I guess). There is no other underlying sub plot so far ( hospital intrigues/dilemma's/dysfunctional families/toxic workplace or friends....?) so are the next 29 episodes going to be of how they get back together...!! I can't see how the pacing /plot/chemistry will work if thats all there is.

I had not seen her before but I came off Meet Yourself ( A+++) and saw FL and thought to myself ...why is LYF in this drama? She really is a doppelganger for LYF! They always say there is someone who looks like ourselves in this world.

Ditto, wish there will be a follow up or where the other supporting characters take the lead e.g XiaXia maturing from shyness to confidence after being away and having a romance with Nana, the adorable youngsters being teenagers... (lots of storylines there).Backdrop will be al the challenges as HD and Yao build their tourism empire.
Li Xian was PERFECT - he had the right kind of charm to carry the role in a genuine way.

Absolutely agree. Genuine relationships and very relatable couple. They actually looked/acted like their feelings were real as opposed to some obviously fake staged actions from multiple sugary C dramas for young adults. ML has a beautiful timbre to his voice - I hope he wasn't dubbed!.

Absolutely deserving of this rating. I hope its well appreciated in China too. Where can we go to next?!? I'm going to rewatch again and again.......
