I couldn't agree.... lets wait till the end or rate each episode. I'm really enjoying both leads and imo its a good piece of modern drama for Xu Kai which promotes him in a mature and realistic light. I don't know why its not getting more promotion......

The annoying mother ruined BCE for me. Nothing against the actress just the script. It took me out of the warmth of the story. She was a real dampner.

I agree. Its annoying and it seems to be with the stars with large fanbases. We are here for the story and to be entertained. If people don't like it turn it off. Simple.

Totally agree, Love XK but had to drop BCE even after I stuck it out for 28 episodes as could not cope with the behaviour of her Mother even though I understood the cultural drivers. I found it too imposing and the other characters seem to pivot around her.it should have been called Mothers Choice Forever. I'm here for Xu Kai and 7 who is a lovely actress.

Thank you for your voice of reason. I was a little perturbed by the distraction of comments around the commitment levels of the Lead couple in their first life. I haven't read the novel nor will I. This is a "drama"tization of the novel as a guide. If people decide that the perceived values of the Lead couple don't align with theirs...all good, don't continue to watch. In life you will meet many people with inconsistent values and behaviours to your own.

Way way....way back in the threads of this drama posting it doesn't end well for the 2 girls. People who read the book said it was particularly sad for RR.

I've seen many comments on the age difference. Yes you can tell they're a decade apart and like many viewers there was interest/concern on how this would play out. For once I was impressed. I remember The Long Ballad (TLB) where there was ZILCH chemistry between the Leads ( note I'm a WL fan)excuses from netizens being there was a Kiss ban as he was too young etc and this would not be acceptable culturally in a historic drama ( as WL had some more spicy kisses immediately after with ZYT in Nothing but You). Well, proved wrong here WXY and WJY are doing a great job to portray romantic chemistry despite an age gap so imo maybe they are better actors...hahaha.

This is such a sweet drama. A nice relaxation so watch and enjoy.
