Healer is overrated accept it,if it isn`t then Justin Bieber is the greatest singer on earth and the heirs is…
Yes but that still doesn't mean looks are the ONLY reason to say people like a drama. My point is people can't discredit other qualities of the drama that people liked the drama for and just say the drama is only liked because of the actor's looks and popularity. Looks and popularity merely bring attention but to be seen as a good drama takes more than that.
I've seen this type of comment more than once, so I just want to say that... obviously the eye candy helps, but…
Yes! Barely anyone really knows much about him, and even those who knew him didn't even care for him much. My mom, for example, didn't want to watch this show because she didn't really like him. And she still doesn't care about him (DUNO WHY), but she still thought it's a good show.
I started this show ONLY after it was finished, and I knew it was rated a 9.2. Usually, people will have really high expectations seeing a high rating, and then getting disappointed because the bar was set too high, but for this one, I still enjoyed it a lot and rated it just as high, because I really felt it was truly good and satisfied what I want to see in a drama.
And seriously, this show barely had any over-exaggerated hype. I've heard it's a really good drama from some people, but that's about it. Whereas...other TRULY overhyped shows were literally rubbed in my face all the time.
This is like ONE website with a high 9.2 rating, that doesn't automatically mean the show is overrated and doesn't deserve to be liked and to be popular... Get over it people -___- People really enjoyed it and it was really satisfying, that's the main point.
Healer is overrated accept it,if it isn`t then Justin Bieber is the greatest singer on earth and the heirs is…
Yes, actor/actress looks and popularity affect the popularity of Asian dramas. But that does NOT mean a drama is ONLY liked solely because of the hot actor and discredit all the other qualities it has that people really like it for. What you said was that the actor's looks is the ONLY reason why this is popular. That is not true and that isn't an undeniable "fact" at all.
I've seen this type of comment more than once, so I just want to say that... obviously the eye candy helps, but it is incredibly unfair and judgmental to say that people are just rating the drama for Ji Chang Wook and his looks. Please don't discredit all the other actors and the drama's characters or the screenwriter's work. I wouldn't simply like a drama just because someone is hot.
People need to remember that not everyone looks for the same thing in dramas.
I for one, don't think that a drama needs to be unpredictable or about some crazy genius revenge plan to be considered a good drama. There may be nothing especially new about this drama, but it's one that executed that "nothing new" better than other dramas did. I've said it before, it's not a MINDBLOWING drama, but it's one that is well-rounded and SATISFIES (many people). Not many dramas can do that. I've watched so many dramas, and even the ones I rate 9-10, there's almost always something that I wish could've been done a bit better (ex. better romance, better ending, better wrap-up).
It's people's own opinion to think whatever they want and that's the genuine feeling they got from that. An opinion is an opinion, there is no right or wrong. I also don't think YWCFTS is that great of a drama, but hey, it is kudos to the drama's ability to be able to induce these feelings from their viewers (the crazy media brainwash also probably helped, if you were in Asia).
There is not EVER, EVER a perfect drama out there, it's always up to a few outstanding factors that attract and pull in people (think real life products). Do one or two things amazingly right, and you could win so many people's hearts. And that's what Healer has done.
Healer is overrated accept it,if it isn`t then Justin Bieber is the greatest singer on earth and the heirs is…
lolol at comparing some drama being overrated to Justin Bieber? -____-
Why don't you just accept that a lot of people like it? People all have different criteria to label what they think is the "best drama ever". Just because you think intensity / revenge / etc etc in Bridal Mask makes it the best drama ever, doesn't mean that is the case for everybody. There is no problem with you thinking that Healer is overrated, but telling people to accept it like that is kind of rude.
It's been nearly 2 weeks without Healer and honestly I've still not coped with it at all.
yes! These days I've been refraining myself to think about anything related to Healer, Ji Chang Wook, Park Min Young, or otherwise I'd accomplish a total of nothing. T_T I think the last time I had so much drama withdrawal from a drama was Secret! (Which was ages ago!)
To the people saying this is crazily overrated... at least it's not ridiculously selling out things like lipsticks. :D
IMO, Healer was definitely not overhyped at all. During its run and even till now, the buzz wasn't explosive nor have I seen media hyping it up or anything.
Overall, people rate dramas in terms of enjoyment, and not whether it's a masterpiece or a piece of art. The drama is definitely not something deep and beautiful, but to most of us, it was incredibly enjoyable and seriously what so many people really really have been longing to see in kdrama romances. And c'mon, we all know MOST kdrama watchers are all suckers for sweet romance!! Do the romance epically well and you win a million points in a lot of people already HAHA.
Kdrama romances have always been like giving you a hint of epic romance-that-could've-been but always failing to fully exploit it and giving us the satisfaction (probably on purpose), but this one was definitely different, IN ADDITION to a very decent story with great, likable characters, no annoying or incredibly hateful characters, action (not to mention the eye candy!!). So excuse us for having our minds blown away XD
Anyhow, keep in mind ratings always drop as more people watch it anyways, but it surely has been one of the few dramas to pass the 9 mark even after its ending, and a week after it too, and again, without overhyped buzz.. so I'm sure that says something. :)
Ever since City Hunter, I always felt that PMY and LMH was like the best OTP ever and none of their other collabs with other people could ever beat it. WELL TURNS OUT I WAS WRONG. Gotta say that PMY and JCW is even more epic <3 fml
This drama ruined all the other dramas for me T_______T I dunno what else to watch right now ;_;
this is exactly me! This drama was too perfect, OTP too epic, I don't know what drama can beat this! Def duno what to watch next!! So much drama withdrawal! I want to cry just thinking about the perfection of this drama, of Ji Chang Wook, of our OTP. EEK GAHHHSLK;djfalksdjf
Wut. Thai actors are unattractive? Seriously? I don't watch Thai dramas (exception of Full House) but I know for a fact that many Thai actors (actually people in general) can be very good looking.
Duno why people like to support only "one country"'s dramas....as long as it's enjoyable, it's worth checking out! I also don't really like the sound of Thai, but I got used to it after a few episodes.
But I have to say I guess I don't really blame people who just don't like the sound of a language. Kind of hard to watch something when you don't like the sound of it? It's like music. Some people don't like metal rock, then can't really expect people to listen to it.
IMO, people are entitled to their own opinion and they may all have different reasons that they don't really like other country's dramas. That is fine with me, because not all are drama fanatics and I wouldn't expect them to try all the dramas in the world when they already have their own preferred dramas to watch. But some comments can be too critical and mean (like the one about ugly actors)
I still remember how I was telling a friend how the Thai ver of Full House is pretty good, the leads are super cute and pretty! and she was like ".....LOL wtf thai ver? are they transgender?" -_____- Absolutely wanted to bitchslap her.
