This drama actually makes sense in 2018 (when it was filmed), so I'll cut it some slack. Most modern Cdramas back then were this style. But it definitely is cliche and...just not very good lollll. I generally have very high tolerance when it comes to watching dramas, but this is sitting on the edge for me right now. I usually don't drop dramas no matter how bad it is, and I like the lead actors... so I'll try to push through T___T The first few eps seeing the ML so thick-skinned were pretty funny though lol

You just gotta lower your expectations for kisses in Cdramas lmao...The kisses in this drama are already pretty…
Hahahahaha that's me with all the pairings that I look forward to T___T Bai Lu and Cheng Lei would be totally hot, but I'm trying not to pray too hard in case it backfires on me LOL. But most Bai Lu dramas seem to be escape the kissing censorship so I think we can be hopeful to have at least some decent kiss scenes!

I totally get what you mean because I still miss the glorious days during the Love is Sweet, You Are My Glory, Love Designer etc.... era!!!! But Cdrama kisses have gone downhill since like 2021 T____T It's like the standards got stricter or something cuz these past few years, it has been DIFFICULT to find kiss scenes that are satisfying. Now, most the kisses we get are the ones I mentioned: purposely not letting us see their mouths or switching the angle after half a second... So you have no idea how relieved I am when I actually see kiss scenes where their mouths actually move... LOLLL Basically been disappointed too many times that for some of the terrible kiss scenes, I literally have to stare super hard and go like "OK at least their mouths moved a bit there..."
I don't even think it's always the actors' problems (but obviously some of them just aren't good), but the damn censorship is the main problem. I think they gotta resort to these fake kisses so that kiss scenes can actually make it in there. There are so many kiss scenes that are clearly good in behind the scenes footage, but they get cut to look pathetic in the actual drama.

Anyway, I get you, I actually commented cuz I wanted to see what kinda AMAZING kiss scenes you've been watching LOL cuz literally almost everything is disappointing nowadays.

Overall a decent drama. TBH nothing too special, but it was light and fun with a good pairing. I personally am not that bothered by the ending. I remember seeing a comment I agree with regarding the ending here, but can't find it anymore, but it was something along the lines of being okay with the ending because going back in time is kind of like cheating, and I agree with that. Having all that knowledge about the future and benefiting from it to gain success is kind of unfair. A lot of the characters' success was because of Xue Jiao and Lin Zhi Hua knowing what future industry trends/global events, etc. I totally am okay with the characters going back to the present as long as it's still a happy ending.
But I did feel antagonizing the second ML at the end was pretty unnecessary... At that point, I kind of started rolling my eyes at this drama. I'd get it if the second ML was having a terrible life or something and was already at the brink of insanity or something, but that wasn't the case here. It just seemed soo ridiculous for him to go to that extent just for a girl...
Also, it was very odd to have the series end on the second lead couple...

Finally finished it:CONS:1. Series feel very slow at the beginning. 2. Fake kisses with mouth moving in the emptiness,…
You just gotta lower your expectations for kisses in Cdramas lmao...The kisses in this drama are already pretty satisfactory compared to like 80% of all Cdramas in recent years :SSS At least their mouths actually move and you can see their mouths. I can barely find any Cdramas nowadays that have any of those factors. There's barely any chance of any Cdramas having kiss scenes where they actually passionately kiss. I already thank the drama gods if I can see kiss scenes like the ones in this one in a Cdrama... ACTUAL fake kisses literally are just mouths glued together and then they switch to some other angle so you can't see even their mouths. At least in this one I can see their mouths move for more than one second

Great kisses, but that's all I can give it. Story was so average... There was barely any interesting plot. Basically just a couple in a workplace. That's it. I liked the FL in Shining for One Thing and totally shipped the couple there, but I just couldn't ship her with Miles in this show. Maybe the FL just isn't fit for typical idol dramas....
I also have no idea why this show was 32 episodes. 24 episodes would've been enough. I struggled so hard to finish this. The only reason I finished this was cuz I insist on finishing what I watch.

Average plot, but wasn't as crazy as I thought it would be from the comments. Lotssss of kiss scenes, and they were very good ones too!! Was pleasantly surprised about that. However, I have to say, though the chemistry was good, looks-wise, they still aren't the most compatible. Still prefer Fan Zhi Xin's chemistry with Li Mo Zhi in My Lethal Man

Man, now I can see why the ratings are low... It's a good premise, but too much dumb sh*t in the later episodes. The character decisions make no sense at all.... my god. I rarely drop shows, but watching the dumb characters actually made me want to quit

Very experienced drama watcher, so everything was very predictable to me. As a result, the drama was a bit too slow for me by the halfway mark. The story is kinda average, and it was anti-climatic throughout; nothing exciting really went on. Also had some plot holes as some moments were kinda stupid on the police's part. However, I like the way it ended, which is a plus since most shows have very mediocre endings nowadays.

Any idea as to how the chinese viewers are taking this ending?
Same reaction as here. No one understand why the hell the ending is like this and everyone wants to send knives to the director/screenwriters.

I didn’t watch Go Ahead ( cos I really don’t like Tan Song with that hair😅) but after 4 eps I’m throughly…
Are you talking about her hair when she was a student? Cuz she only has that hairstyle for a very short time....

Title The Double Spoiler
I honestly don't get what's the point of the war segment in the last 20 minutes of the show.
Like it literally serves no purpose to the rest of the main plot of the story. The main plot effing ended already. Why is there a need to add this part into the last 20 minutes of the show? Ya, the ML is someone who serves the country. We already know that. There's absolutely no need to show us that. Seriously seems like it's just there to make it a supposed a sad ending just for the sake of it -___- But honestly, the ending is a definite open ending to me. IDK why some people seemed to be really convinced it's a 100% sad ending. I would honestly interpret it as a happy one

Such great acting, and loved crying along with the characters (Ep 11 killed me). Love melo, but I don't like melo till the very last episode. I love angst and grief, but c'mon. at least give me two eps of happiness or something at the end. Not enough sweet moments, and wtf basically only one proper kiss scene in the entire show?! What a waste of KSH and KJW's chemistry!!!!
I've watched too many dramas in my life, so this isn't really anything particularly amazing, but def kudos to the acting.

People seem to keep forgetting what kind of drama they're watching. It's a ridiculous story about getting cheated…
Ya, and let's be honest, this is a drama about revenge on a cheating couple, and her revenge is to get two scumbags to get together. Are ppl really taking this seriously as something like a dark revenge drama? The revenge plot is more like high school drama lol
IDK why I keep seeing people comparing this to The Glory. It's really just not the same genre.

Literally watching this show just for that even though I already heard this show is very average. It's just sooo hard to find Cdramas that don't have their kiss scenes heavily cut or just completed deleted nowadays -___- ugh.
