It was a great drama with a great theme and I really enjoyed the "inner monster" theme they were trying to explore. I have to admit it's a bit boring in the first couple episodes so minus some points there, but I absolutely LOVED all the characters, especially Min (even his childhood counterpart, omg so cute though a bit creepy haha) Acting was super good and I actually felt Joon Young's subtle creepiness. However, I don't think the rewatch value for this is that high for me. Still contemplating whether I should keep this drama or not gahhh!
I have no idea why people were complaining sooooo much about this drama. There was so much worth analyzing and discussing about the drama and the morals they were trying to convey. But instead, people decided to spend their time complaining -_- The writing had flaws and there could've been more focus on helping the audience understand the development and background of the characters, but if you actually tried to understand the story, it all makes sense. I had a fun time watching the drama, and really understood what they were trying to say about love, following your heart and making choices, looking at your life in more than one direction, taking control of your life, how love gives you strength to face your reality, etc etc much more. Most of the things that happened and the scenes they put in told us a lot of things related to that.
Duno why people kept complaining about the speed of the lead couple; the second couple pretty much progressed at the exact same time, yet the complaints were all one-sided. The development was absolutely justifiable in my opinion, plus it is a drama, you need to give the time span a little bit of a break sometimes.
Second couple was cute and funny, I liked them too, but they are seriously way overrated. Their story is your typical poor girl-rich guy story, development was meh, nor were their actually as many sweet scenes as I expected (due to the raving of other viewers). Not saying they're not cute, but the one-sided praise is overexaggerated. I know the lead couple didn't allow people to fall hard for them because of the fact that JK was too mysterious and people were probably insecure of whether he really liked YH or not, but IMO, you can tell in some scenes when the character showed genuine feelings for her.
Personally, I'm one of the few who liked the lead couple more. There was much more to explore about their story. And. UEE and Sung Joon seriously know how to kiss. Seriously.
All in all, again, better or rather, more development could've been done, but it's overall okay to me. Perhaps less time could've been spent on some things, but honestly, everything the writer put in really contributed to the themes and morals they were trying to convey, even with the mistress.
Overall, I give this drama an 8, but I give it an extra 0.5 for the MANY KISSING SCENES, and they were ALLLLLLLLL GOOD ones (for BOTH couples). (sorry COUPLE SHIPPER AT HEART <3) Soooo maybe those who don't know whether you want to watch it.... at least watch the kissing scenes :D
This drama did a REALLY bad job with the childhood Jae Hwa. I actually really didn't like him 90% of the time -_- Only knows how to cry, and then got mad at Jae Hee for some dumb thing without even confronting him first. So you just DECIDE to suddenly hate some kid that's been pretty nice to you? I thought you're supposed to make us LIKE the male lead first? -_- The drama did a pretty bad job making me like ANY of the characters that we're supposed to like with the childhood portion except Bori. But even Bori got on my nerves at one point with the crying about her mother.
I feel so mad about how they wrapped up the murder case that I can barely bring myself to care about the rest of the last episode. The way they revealed anything about the murder case was either MOSTLY NOT GIVEN or, just revealed to us in an anti-climatic way, through Yeom Mi asking him a bunch of questions. OK.... Absolutely unsatisfied.
This murder case is what this whole drama has been about, yet, they can't even give a proper explanation to WHY WHY WHY Jae Hee did what he did, WHY those victims, and a thorough insight about his past???? Jae Hee's character was so clever and gave a lot to this drama, how can you just wrap up an intelligent psychopath's murder without explaining the psychological part???
And, the show started off really interesting and really hooked us in with how interesting the murder case was, but yet doesn't give us closure to it. wtf. wtf. just wtf. What was the point of adding that useless murder case in the last episode? Why don't you use that time, to give us what REALLY MATTERS?
The show was also starting to drag and get repetitive after Episode 10, and things were starting to get a little BS. Especially in Episode 14 when they had already ARRIVED at the place where the entrance to the secret room was, and couldn't think to just search around when Chaerim couldn't see the scents anymore. Wow, you're there already, how about some effort?
The show was occasionally funny and really cute, but you can not just end off a huge murder case like that, when it was the FOUNDATION of your show. RIDICULOUS. No matter how cute the OTP was, I just cannot be satisfied. (Plus I didn't love the OTP enough to ship them hard.)
I think this is the first time that I felt this mad about a kdrama. Ugh. Just ugh.
This was a cute drama, the couple was cute, but I didn't LOOOOVE them to death. This show though, really, REALLY disappointed me. In fact, I am not sure how anyone could be satisfied with this drama the way the left things about the murder case, which the drama was HEAVILY revolved around. I was anticipating the whole back story explained to me, especially in the last episode but NO. I GOT NONE OF THAT. Just ugh. I literally feel cheated.
Aside from that, I also felt the drama was starting to drag after Episode 10. And some things that were happening started getting a little BS.
The positives: The psychopath was really good, and I really liked Yeom Mi as well. The OTP was really cute too, but they didn't make me ship them really hard. IDK why.
However, the positives cannot redeem this show for me. End a show bad, you can go from, "aw cute" to "so bad..."
Let me see if I got this correctly... Joon Ki made some nice gestures by helping Yoon Ha out during the staff…
I agree. The world isn't as "normal" and "logical" as we all think. There are literally people and things that happen that make you go ...what...? Especially with people who have experienced a LOT, their minds and thoughts function differently when it comes to different things. It's like how some girls keep going back to guys who are clearly bad for them, and we, as outsiders, keep asking ourselves why in the world they'd do that.
ohmygaaadd, just realized how hot Kim Ji Hoon is (after watching Crime Scene 2)! Feel like I need to watch this drama now ...but then it's makjang.... Sounds frustrating T_T OH THE CONFLICT
Finally got to watching this (because I was really bored...). Overall, it was bearable...thanks to much lower expectations, recaps and the fast forward button :) Finished in three days hahahaha! First comment: WAY TOO MUCH STARING! Emotional staring can give us so much feels, but literally there is no need for 1 minute stares every single episode -_- Plus when you just first met? really? Yea I get it's supposed to be romantic, but the romance kind of dies after like 30 secs of staring already. You can stop now...
I can definitely understand the frustration to those that watched during its run and had to wait every week just to have stupid stuff happening over and over again. Ultimately, the main issue with this drama is that it's an OLD cliche that EVERYONE is already tired of, poor girl rich guy, poor girl isn't accepted due to rich parents' ridiculous logic. I felt the drama was pretty decent until about Episode 10. Then I started skipping a lot. Maybe it's cuz I could already sense the sh*t that is going to start happening from then on. And the ending to everything? Just makes you think what the heck was the point of all the angst and drama in the middle -_- All thanks to a stroke? Plus I don't think there was much of a closure towards Tan and Young Do's "friendship". The characters weren't too big of a problem for me, but maybe that's cuz I skipped through scenes a lot and didn't have to endure all the idiocy and stupidity. Took me a while to like Young Do though, kind of don't understand how Kim Woo Bin became so popular with this character since he wasn't that likeable nor was he that romantic? (But thankfully I already like Kim Woo Bin from other stuff before this XD)
What I really hated and was SUPER sad about was Won and Hyun Joo having to break up. My heart literally shattered into pieces and sobbed along with them :'( I honestly really wished the way Tan was willing to give up everything to protect Eun Sang would make Won realize that's what he should do too. (That's totally where I thought the drama was going! grr) His strong aggression towards wanting to take over the company isn't explained well at all to make it rational nor do I feel his character changed much or learned much other than opening up to his younger brother. Better closure could've been done there too.... like how they should've made Won acknowledge how his hate for his brother was not Tan's fault at all.
Overall, I kind of like the FEEL of the drama, but things were just very draggy and the conflicts are too cliche or illogical with unsatisfying solutions that make you roll your eyes. So many times, I didn't know whether I should laugh or cry at the cute or emotional moments. Horrible closure to a lot of things. I find myself being sad but yet wanting to laugh LOL.
This drama did remind me why I loved Lee Min Ho though. Thought I didn't like him as much anymore, but after this, the admiration is back...
WHAT? why did it go down to top#3 :( it deserves to stay at the #1 spot for eternity. #PinnacleOfKdramas
Yeah, I agree, but just saying it's very rare that a drama stays at 9 and above even few months after its run. There has not been a drama that's done that.
The synopsis is really bad. I just saw the first episode. Wasn't at all like what I got from the synopsis and…
Wow! And you never really had Korean lessons I take it! Indeed very talented! You are definitely in the right career hahaha. Koreans seriously talk really fast, so it's really hard to catch every single word they're saying! And it's amazing that you are able to catch so much vocabulary in one year. Feels hopeless to me to be able to able to catch every single word at the speed they speak at, EVER LOL. Haha, I am in my early 20's.
A little underwhelmed.... thought it would be amazing, but it was honestly very normal to me, except Kimura's character is super fun. Otherwise.... the solving of cases were average, but there were a couple of case stories that I liked in the middle. But the last case was kind of unbearable... Maybe I was just zoning out too much.
