My god...all these people complaining about how they can't believe how people are being too "harsh" and "serious" about this case. Ya well you know, I can't believe how people can look upon SEXUAL HARASSMENT so lightly, ESPECIALLY those who are girls themselves. This was not just a guy flirting and trying to have some fun with a girl; it involved into a near ATTACK when he used a weapon and started threatening the girl. DOES THAT SOUND LIKE FLIRTING TO U? Is that just a plain mistake? Sexual harassment is serious, and there are STILL so many men in this world who think they have control over women, are more superior to women and can get whatever they want from women as long as they 'try'. There needs to be punishment when things like this happen because the fact that harassment is WRONG needs to be widely educated. If we have people saying "it's okay this was an honest human mistake" every time, that's going to make people think it's okay to this just once, cuz it's just a tiny mistake that will be forgiven.
All these naive girls who will jump to the side of the guy cuz he is their idol or cuz he's good looking...... Can you people put yourselves in the shoes of people who have been sexually harassed, forced onto or raped?
Yep - so sorry for all of you who totally failed to see or understand the awesomeness of this show. The romance…
And actually I'd like to note that the ratings are not really considered "LOW" cuz the ratings overall on TV were on average around that 7-10% range, except for the occasional 'exceptional' shows that can reach close to 20%.
I'd like to think so. Their interactions in real life are seriously so ambiguous. You should see the BTS for when they did their Maldives photoshoot this summer. Do friends really act this way??? #IDONTTHINKSO
IDK what everyone's problem is, but this show has been enjoyable for me since the beginning. Sure, maybe the male lead is kinda immature, but you know what? Trust me, there are actually so many immature males that never grow up and know NOTHING about how to get girls "properly". Unfortunately most guys are not the dreamy, manly kdrama leads we like watching. Like someone said below, I actually think they have been putting in scenes with meaning that explains the story between the leads in every episode. I swear Seok Tae and his father play a part in messing everything up everytime; there must be something about them too.
People should really give this a chance... can't expect the dreamy male lead every single time. If he was that dreamy, he wouldn't be having this problem getting a girl anyway?? >.>
Suuuuch a cliche saeguk ending.
Anyhow, overall just an average drama. It started off interesting, but went downhill and got boring. The characters started getting super useless, so even the crazy second female lead whose character barely makes much sense became the more likeable one.
They were definitely wasting time on romance, and unfortunately it wasn't time well used to develop the romance either. The romance did not tug on anyone's heartstrings, and half the time we're all just like ??????? why??????
I anticipated a lot cuz I like Yoo Seung Ho and Kim So Hyun, plus L is one of my biases. Too bad this show did not deliver. Idk what good things to say about it.....I mean the acting was decent (my Myungsoo really showed some potential), but that's not enough when the story itself isn't good. I guess the good thing is that the story had potential and it has an interesting base plot. It's not a trash show, and I don't regret wasting time on it, but it was just really average...
Overally suuuuchhh a sweet and cute drama. These few (years?), I really haven't been any "EEEK OMGGG" fangirl feels with any of the kdramas I've watched. I can barely remember the last one where I shipped the OTP HARD and gave me the fangirl feels. (Maybe Healer?) But THIS ONE, really finally got me feeling all fangirl-y. Seriously so cuuutee. The ones that get me all fangirl-y make me want to keep the episodes to save for re-watch instead of going in the trash, but I swear it's been a loooong time since I've had that urge. But this one will be saved for sure <3
But I really have to say the ending was definitely a bit of a disappointment cuz it didn't wrap things up very well. Just very abrupt conclusions to all stories and conflicts. Very underwhelming....and very little explanation. They spent several episodes building up the mystery of the landlord lady, but the revelation and solution of it all was all just too simple and quick. No official reunion, no direct explanation to Aera...all just very underwhelming. Dong Man and Aera's reconciliation was also the same... Basically just showed everything briefly to the audience, but not bothering to delve into any emotional depth in the last ep...
But it's ok drama, I forgive you, cuz the other 14 episodes were really good.
Already hate Hwa Gun so early into the drama... It's not even the acting, it's just the character that downright pisses me off. Looks like a character who's potentially going to be crazy and delusional because of her little crush... Only two eps in and she's had me going ???? at everything she's done so far.
Anyway, love the two leads as usual. And my L <333 Maybe sliiiiightly exaggerated in some parts, but I'm proud of his improvement :D
Yoon So Hee fans, I'm sorry but... Hwa Gun, I totally dislike you gurl -.- I wish she just goes away and…
Omg seriously. Sticking a needle in her neck to get matching marks with the prince was beyond creepy. She looks like she could be potentially crazy / delusional... So far her character is soooo annoying
Messy plot overall...Just felt like a few choppy stories bunched into one. Didn't feel like they focused on a main story or a main takeaway/moral/lesson. The flow wasn't smooth at all....
Jeha's "revenge" was pretty much pushed to the background after like one episode or something. He was pretty much just there to assist Yoojin and fall in love with Anna. They didn't actually use full potential of his character or his story to make him seem more like the actual MAIN character. We could tell he's smart and has so much ability, but it just wasn't exhibited to its fullest?
TBH, the romance development also wasn't convincing enough - just don't think they wrote it very well. They tried to make it like they were sooo in love and how deep their romance story is, but eh...the development wasn't good enough for all of the audience to feel the same way. But anyhow they are quite cute together.
Overall a disappointing drama, but it's watchable. I think the best thing about this drama is Song Yoon Ah's acting. Just really blew me away. I love d watching her despite the fact that her character was supposedly evil. I guess the second best thing is Ji Chang Wook's face ;)
I don't know how I should feel about this drama anymore...I think it would've been better if they concentrated…
I agree. They aren't focusing on building the main plot enough, like revenge and the secrets that are clearly embedded in the show, and maybe why the presidency is so important to them? I like the overall plot of this show, but there's something missing that should keep me captivated. I feel like they wasted last week's episodes only on romance development. The romance isn't that convincing to be honest... It all makes SENSE, but doesn't make me fall head over heels for them. I agree Yoojin's character definitely steals the show. Her acting is just so good.... Even though she's evil, I still love watching this character. (No, that does not mean I think am rooting for a Yoojin-Je Ha romance.)
The concept was really unique and the drama was good for the first half... Then it started going downhill when they started throwing too many overly dramatic things at us. Spent too much time trying to "shock" us and just went overboard. So many unexplained things at the end, so definitely not satisfying at all. Not a bad show, just kinda lost its quality near the end. It wasn't as interesting in the last few episodes.
Don't waste your time with this drama. It's really bad. The heroine is crushed from beginning to end, she ends…
Ugh I so agree. I have never seen a makjang where the main lead is STILL getting misunderstood and hurt in the last 90% of the drama >.> The evil ones did not even regret a thing they did until like the very last episode?? Se Jin's mother was still trying to kill NY till the very end...until her daughter got hurt. Seemed to me she just had to reluctantly beg for forgiveness in the end. Can I also mention how Tae Joon's mother stayed annoying until the very end and never learned her lesson?
Oh god...this show. I'm sorry I cannot agree with those that say this show is the best makjang. For me, it is absolutely NOT. Makjangs are always dramatic and draggy in the middle, I am fine with that, because usually the revenge part is so good that in the end, I feel like my time was still worth it. But this show..... ugh. ugh. ugh.
I am absolutely fine with forgiveness in the end (cuz that's pretty much what always happens); but the revenge part was not written well at all. The revenge and revelations were very weak. I feel like some of the horrible things weren't even revealed to everyone in the end?? I did not feel any satisfaction from the so-called "revenge" Na Yeon got. All I felt at the end was... what was the point of everything??? I don't even feel the characters learned their lessons until like the VERY last minute >.> The characters (esp Se Jin's mother) really did not get everything they deserved. The ending, it seemed like everyone just SUDDENLY forgot everything that happened and lived happily ever after. Again, forgive and forget is a great moral, but execution was horrible and also very unrealistic considering all the things that happened. The accident at the end was incredibly stupid; it's like because they felt all makjangs MUST include some organ donation story so they added it in. =.=
Hwi Kyung's character was great, but after a while he kinda started getting on everyone's nerves when he kept telling Na Yeon to give up. Many people's commented that this makes his character so weak, and just so repetitive... Pls realize how much pain she is in and how much his family damaged her. Also, Tae Joon's mother also had NO character development at ALL. Actually she did a lot of horrible and annoying things in the beginning, but literally no improvement from her at all, did not get punished, did not learn her lesson, and she just stayed annoying throughout. And they totally did not wrap up the story for Hwi Kyung's mother??
Usually, I enjoy a makjang as long as the ending and revenge is satisfying and/or there is really sweet romance. No sweet romantic moments here (though I liked the OTP), revenge absolutely unsatisfying, absolutely NOT enough OH DAMNNN moments.
Rarely this unsatisfied with makjang dramas, but yeah, sorry the revenge execution was not good enough at all. I'd say you can watch this if you're a Lee Yuri fan cuz watching her is always great (which is the reason why I watched it). If you're looking for those "OMG OH DAMN" moments (which I think a lot of people look for in these revenge dramas), you probably won't get much of those.
The OVERALL ride is actually a decent one, meaning I enjoyed watching the middle, but the last ten episodes are absolutely so disappointing when you FINALLY realize this drama is STILL not going anywhere satisfying and probably won't ever be.
Really disappointing how the characters are and how the story is going. Really love the Sorim couple...but at this point I think I'll just consider waiting for someone to make cuts of their moments instead >.>
