I have to admit I've been comparing this one to the j-drama version and have been nitpicking small details even…
I agree. You're automatically going to compare and it's usually hard to beat something so good, especially when there's emotions and probably nostalgia tied to the original version. I also think the last episode was done fine, much better compared to the first few eps. I'm also REALLY glad they're doing a new game that's not in the drama! YES! That's what I was hoping for because it's just not as interesting for those of us who know every single game already in the drama. I would also love to know if it was in the manga too
I wouldn't say it's NOT a copy but a remake, since they DO copy the games and strategies exactly, so it's not like they're playing with the concept only and making everything else their own. Especially when the games and strategies are the main point of the story.
Other than that, I like the different characters, even though the lead is no Matusda Shota, but he's still likable in a different way. I'm okay with the TV show concept, even though I do agree some of it is unrealistic and they don't explain the rules clearly enough. My main issue with it is that already knowing what happens with the games, it's just not as interesting, and my view is they don't execute it as well as the Japanese version, so that doesn't help either. I'm still watching for sure, but it's not "great" in my books.
IDK kind of getting more and more disapppointing when the games and strategies are the same but not done better…
the disappointment is not that it's the same, it's that it's the same, yet not done as well as the Japanese version (in my opinion), making it unsatisfying.
IDK kind of getting more and more disapppointing when the games and strategies are the same but not done better or as well as the Japanese version.... since it's s predictable to those who watched the original
wow seo in guk in a saeguk :O I also don't think his acting is that mature / good enough, but I suppose I don't mind him. I really liked the plot of The Face Reader, although the plot written above is nowhere near that....... but I am assuming it will be the same/similar. Will give this a try.
Hmmm... they make it seem more realistic and reasonable but I think I like the Japanese version better with its…
I agree, like when they're revealing what tricks Woo Jin uses, it's not as exciting as they do it in Liar Game... The revelations really aren't done as well as in the Japanese version. Another thing I liked about the Japanese version is how they introduce the "rules" and "strategies" in the games. I really hope this ver will keep that or do something just as well like that.
So many things I am not liking about this drama: Hyunwook falling for his dead gf sister...and he apparently doesn't…
She is simply stating what SHE doesn't like about the drama. What gives you the right to call someone dumb? Just because you don't agree, doesn't mean you have to force someone to have the same opinion as you. How do you know she hasn't paid attention to the drama? If you don't agree with something, simply just ignore the comment. Why are you being so rude? She was not even being rude or inappropriately critical in her comment.
Watch The Drive of Life (if you haven't) for Charray!!! Their chemistry there was much more amazing than in Line Walker. They were really funny in Line Walker, but nothing beats Charray in TDOL for me.
The drama was sweet, but for me, it will never beat the Taiwanese version, no matter how silly some aspects may have been. This version was great and had its own cuteness, up until the terminal illness. That ruined everything. I had to take a break after Episode 12, which worked because I was less pissed continuing the drama weeks later. However, the drama still didn't redeem itself very well because well the rest of the drama was pretty much just typical "I have a terminal illness so I need to push you away". HOW MANY TIMES HAVE I SEEN THIS TYPE OF PLOT??? The characters are great in their own way, and holy Choi Jin Hyuk is soooo gorgeous, but yeah, this drama absolutely got ruined by the terminal illness. And I feel like we barely really got to see the growth in Mi Young's character. The growth was just assumed with her success, and we saw a bit more strength, but compared to the TW version, there was overall no story after the miscarriage except for "I have a terminal illness, I have no right to be with you. - No that is ridiculous, I will be with you until the end, you would do the same in my position. - Oh right..that's true." A little disappointed. But at least the characters / actors made up for it.
Wow, the rating boost up so much! This is a good sign since it seems to have boosted AFTER the ending... which is rare :) Can't wait to watch this! At least it has a high rating AND wasn't way overrated during its run.
I really like this, but I have to say there was more depth in the romance of the Taiwanese version. However, I…
Ugh, thank you. Exactly my thoughts. I just watched up to the part of her running away and I am just sooo ticked off. No matter how much "less stupid" this version is, the amnesia/stupid illness ruined the drama for me, and it'll never beat the TW drama now in my books T_T ughhhhhh
Honestly, no matter how well they execute it here, one thing just ticked me off so much that will never make it better than the TW version for me. Why the hell did they have to add the stupid terminal illness?? That just hella ruined the story for me. The miscarriage was done much worse in this drama IMO. The fact that he had to push her away and act cold cuz of his stupid illness? UGH. That just ruined it. Honestly, the point of the miscarriage was really emotional and memorable to me in the TW version, but I didn't like it at all here. Maybe cuz "i have an illness, stay away from me. Oh wait damn. I regret it. *runs to airport*" is just wayyyyy toooooo cliche to me, esp in a kdrama. UGH. Not done the drama yet, but this seriously ticked me off.
Glad I'm not the only one. I also feel like this drama is kinda boring... I'm on Episode 13. If not for the cast, I might not be able to continue with this. but then again, I'm also one of those people who don't like to drop stuff. Just feel like the writing is a bit off, NSM and LJK had a lot of chemistry in TBDAW, but here...IDK I don't really get the feels :'( So disappointed. I feel like I'm FORCING myself to like the show right now. But yeah, maybe cuz I'm also really tired when I watch the show these days.. need a lot of energy watching saeguks hahaha
ohmygodddddddddddd i do not mind at all if they can make a good remake out of this!! I really missed watching Liar Game. Wish there were more shows like it!
omgg choi ro woon AND lee chae mi! This drama is love!!!! And I really like Jin Gu and Se Young line ! Gahh hope he doesn't get friendzoned the whole drama :'(
