No. Why is it specifically for Thai BLs when this is fairly commonplace in writing in general? Boiling it down to a "curse" that happens in "episode 11" and then complaining about said "curse" is dumb and diminishes the work actual writers put into writing it. It's not a curse, it's intentionally written to be that way, and if you don't vibe with it, that's cool.

I heard about "the curse" a while before I started watching Thai BLs and the way it was presented, I was expecting it to be something that just destroyed the entire show, and it wasn't until after I had watched /several/ Thai BLs that I realized they just meant some dumb conflict that got solved in usually one episode. Maybe that's on me for having those expectations in the first place, but my point still stands that this is a normal thing when it comes to writing in general.

That's what I mean! It doesn't work like that. It can't be a curse. That is my argument. If it was a curse, it would be something more objective, but there isn't, so it's not a curse. Does that make sense?

But it isn't "quite fitting". It doesn't even have anything to do with it being the penultimate episode either, it's literally just because it's nearing the end of the series. It could be anywhere in the last 3-ish episodes depending on how long they want the conflict to last. It's just writing, not a damn curse💀

As for this show, it's been a dumpster fire, so I'm sorry you were expecting more from it. However, when I said "something that ruins the entire show" I meant it more as an objective thing, and not subjective opinions. It should also be unintentional from the writers side, of which this is clearly intentional.

I'm not a believer of the episode 11 curse. I understand them wanting to add conflict to the story before the end, so it's more of a penultimate episode thing than specifically episode 11. It's not a curse either, it's just the writers wanting to insert some more conflicts before they attempt to round it out for the finale. A curse would be something that in my opinion completely destroys the foundation on which the series was built and makes the entire show unwatchable even though that wasn't the intention of the writers. That would be a curse! Not just a silly conflict arc that is solved in one episode. Boiling it down to one specific episode number is also dumb in my opinion. Is it sometimes shoehorned in towards the end, yes, like in this case. But that doesn't mean it's not designed to be a conflict. Personally, in this case, I just found it incredibly funny.

Sorry, not meant as an attack on you or anything, I'm just tired of seeing people complain about the "11th episode curse" but also completely misunderstanding what it actually means and why it's there in the first place.

This isn't the last episode for the first couple though. I'm pretty sure we still get the kidnapping coming up and THEN they move onto Fuma-Kai. There's no way they'll skip the kidnapping.

"They just filled the time with sex scenes" weren't there like 5 scenes total + the special episode?

If I wanted this to be the Thai version, I'd just go watch the Thai version. Both versions can exist simultaneously. Yes a lot of it will be really similar because they both have the same source material.
For me I don't really mind either way, I'm just along for the ride, enjoying it for what it is and I'm having a good time so far.

Well, to be fair, Rei is supposed to be inexperienced, so it's anyone's guess if that was because of the actor or if that was just how he was directed to act during that scene.

I don't think it's time for Fuma-Kai just yet bc after Mr. Sore Loser loses the race, he kidnaps Rain, right? So I think that's what will happen next week and THEN we get Fuma-Kai in episode 6.

Not to mention some people just look younger, while others look older. It's a completely natural thing

I don't think they will skip it unfortunately, or there won't really be any drama in Arashi-Rei's story. They've already introduced the poor loser who can't take an L as well... not that I know his name though.

I'm a bit upset we didn't get Rei just waiting in the rain, but I feel they still kept the spirit of it and combined it with Arashi winning the race against the prick. Next should be the kidnapping right? And then maybe Fuma-Kai in episode 6? I'm so curious how the rest of the series will differ from the Thai version, or even which parts will stay the same. I don't really mind either way, I'm just here to enjoy the story.

I've had the feeling that they would start off exactly the same and then slowly diverge a bit, while still hitting on the same beats as the Thai version, and I feel like episode 4 showed exactly that. It's still adapted from the same story after all.

As for the NC, I feel like they showed a bit more (at least compared to other more recent series)
Either way, they exceeded my expectations
