People in the comments will side with heart eyes with a serial killer who kills serial killers without a single moral hesitation, I can tell.
The show needs to have room for relatable characters that shake up the plot with righteousness. Imagine how boring this show would be if everyone, even without a single conversation, just did everything they could to destroy other people (even if these people were the worst type of people).
It's scary because these "evil" people and corporations actually exist in our world today. They are politicians, businessmen, big associations... they actually exist. So if you had the chance, would you (like fr) go face to face with these people without any fear, remorse, or guilt?... because that's scary. Human beings are actually pretty fragil. Characters that act as the moral compass of shows like this NEED to exist in order for our main characters to recognize feelings such as missing each other, for example, and what's their truth. that's what's called "character development" really well done... kinda rare in fiction these days, but that's how a story like this should be written (in my opinion).
Shout out to Moon Yoo Seok for being an amazing storyteller!
The hate the character of Soo Hyun gets is unnecessary and I don't understand why people don't like her character.…
Also people need to understand that this separation between the male leads had to happen at some point, and she was kind of the one that made it happen. i think it's pretty safe to say Ga On didn't left Yo Han's side, he just feels conflicted atm. He will be back on the game soon enough, but we are at ep 13 out of 16 and we never seen Yo Han actually lose something out of all his crazy games. Obviously smt like this was bound to happen. If Soo Hyun was not the competent and decent character she is, Ga On would never be shaken. He did prioritized information over a dead body. He needs to keep bringing balance to the duo, or else they will both be as mad as everyone else. This is perfect storytelling. People that can't understand that the actions of one character influence the others, are just here for a cheesy and easy script with no depth.
I feel like they wrapped things up pretty well in Episode 7. I mean he breaks up with her, so maybe the showrunners…
agree with everything you said. i am just sad and scared if the characters already had a different ending planned, that would make sense for both as we would have more time to learn more about why they are the way they are, and that somehow as an audience and since i dont plan to read the webtoon, i will be "stolen" from that alternative ending that could've make more sense to me. hope they wrap it up good. they barely had any screentime already.
I didn't like Ep6, as they were goving us JaeEon backstory, but other than that the show is doing what its suppose…
i understand her struggles. i have never dated people like jaeon before as i rather not have fun to be hurt and played around, but that's not necessarily better?! why should i be glamorized and applauded by the majority of people in this society and people like nabi get cursed out? she is in her own journey. like sure he is manipulative but she is not naive.
like you said, she just needs to accept the reality and be okay with it. the deal breaker between these two will be simple. nabi wants more. she will always want more and jaeon will both never be enough for her and she will never fully trust him. everytime the phone rings she will be going insane.
they might even fall deeply in love if you will, but if you don't trust your partner you are just burning time. it will always end eventually.
glad his ex is exposing his dirty ass but why should he be cut out of an already recorded tv show? Like are you cutting his scenes out and possibly also cutting his co-star Hye Ji, because of his personal life dramas? Korea really is too much sometimes.
I guess we can now forget any reasonable ending for this couple.
It was weird that his response to "you have a girlfriend" was "that's not the issue" instead of "I don't have…
i asked the same questions. like for once he could've said the truth and would play in his favor as well. like he really does not want to show vulnerability ever? rather be a jerk than soft? like that was the only part of the ep that i didn't understand. at the same time it's hilarious how even with that reply Nabi went *lol fuck it*.
also yup very weird. i would be scared to enter that car even. that's a bloody maserati, hello? pretty sure that model costs 150K. bishhhhh- i would sell that immediatly xD "thanks mom"
Just finished episode 6. I am very frustrated about the fact that NaBi just acts normally as if it was nothing…
well cause sometimes other people are in love with you and you find them lovely but they do nothing to you. there's no sparkle, no desire, no different feelings that makes you go "i think you mean more to me than a friend". i understand the place you are trying to go with this comment, but it doesn't make much sense. the producers and screenplayers are not trying to make her not pay attention to do hyuk, i am pretty sure she finds him very cute, but she is also very much into park jaeon rn, and that won't change over night.
with this i am not saying she will end up with jaeon. i am pretty sure she wont. but for now, she is into him. for whatever reason she has and feels. her choice. her heart.
Just finished ep.7 …. am honestly loving this show .. the tension… the gazes … amazing
same! i find their choices rather fascinating. i might not do it myself, but i don't always have to relate to the main characters to try and understand why are they both in this vicious cicle.
It was not really a clear confession... To me it was rather Sol who confessed after Ji Wan passed out.
i agree! even though we know that that was a confession, sol keeps seeing jiwan go on dates. my favorite people on earth are also my friends. i could legit say "you are my favorite person :D" to my best friend rn and she would just say "sameee bestie hehe let's go get ice cream".
so we know, as an audience, it was honest but sol doesn't quite understand the full context, cause can you imagine how awkward it would be if sol would reply with a true honest confession too and jiwan would go "wait... what? i meant as a friend... sol...", you know? it's tricky. cause they are best friends. once one of them it's honest, it's either "dating" time or they will "have" to stop talking to each other, cause it would be too awkward and weird to keep acting THAT close when one of the parts it's madly in love. A confession changes a friendship forever.
i disagree with everyone here saying this kdrama has become boring. i absolutely love everything this team is doing with the show. i don't relate with most of the FL/ML actions but i am genuinely interested every week to know what they will chose: road to pain or salvation?
it's super interesting to me to watch their choices, and on top of it i get so many other storylines in the middle. like the university seniors living together are freaking adorable. we might not get to see a lot from them, but it was such a cute contrast with the rest of the ep. also jiwan and sol stole once again my heart this week :( like please i need them to be honest to each other.
as a matter of fact if ALL the characters were honest... ALL "couples" just need to be honest. that's it. the thing that it's interesting though is that i understand this right? but in irl i repress my feelings and i am often scared to be in love. i actually don't really enjoy the anxiety it gives me. so i understand what i need to do and what the characters need to do in order to get their shit together... but i just stand still and i let the moment pass. So it's interesting how i relate with that aspect so much.
the thing i don't understand about park jaeon on this latest ep is why didn't he just said he does not have a girlfriend anymore and that that's an ex that he is still friends with. like what's his deal? does he rather be seen as trash than to show genuine affection? is he that afraid to be vulnerable and honest?
i mean don't get me wrong he really went overboard this week with his manipulation games, like he is not even playing cute this time, he is dead serious. But at the same time why didn't he just said the truth?! i fail to understand this side of him. Did his mom really messed him up this bad?! is this trauma related?! like i am genuinely interested in knowing why didn't he just said what Nabi wanted to hear (cause for once it was actually the truth).
I am loving every second of it. At every turn, even if something i am not supporting personally happens, it gets me intrigued. i want to know more about all characters. All actors are doing an amazing job. If you hate a character so so much is because both the writing and acting is killer, and i love that. Honestly loving it all. At some point i don't even "care" who she ends up with. I just want to see what they will do next and try to understand all parts (since it's their lives and not mine).
have those bookmarked to watch still :/ i would advice you to watch the pilot and decide for yourself if it makes sense. But rather than psychological games, or feeling like a thriller, this story is more about society, human kind, power, justice and money. It's meant to create moral dilemmas within you as an audience. Does not make you scared. It's more about how far will humans go when they have power, and who is telling the truth. Which side would you pick.
More than GO moral compass (which I find right by all means), why he came off as a frustating character is because…
i respect and understand your pov! That's very true. just feels like some people been saying how they hate his role and how irrelevant he is to the story and that is so so wrong. Through his dilemmas we get to form our opinion on Yo Han. So Ga On is a very important character. He is bound to pick a side sooner or later. I don't think the character deserves a "it doesnt belong in this kdrama", but rather a "he makes me a bit mad... but i am interested".
I feel that's one of views of this show, how everyone handles justice. Some don't respect it and make their own…
yeah i like how Yo Han is not an hero but an anti-hero. Someone that you know is not enterely right but you still support based on what you are seeing so far. i am sure Ga On will keep struggling until almost the very end. He will pick his side soon enough. Although i don't understand why people hate him so much as a character for not trusting Yo Han. I wouldn't either although i side with him.
