Clown nation getting lively over a prank of october 2022 air date......After searching deep in douban I found…
Yeah I wouldn't trust anything that puts air date in 2022. The political environment is going to be extra sensitive until early 2023 at least due to CCP leadership events. In fact, expect to see only government-sponsored "tribute dramas" for all of Oct (e.g. Light Chaser Rescue is one).
Honestly I think the best chance we have of watching HYX in the next few years is if someone leaked it in full. I'm sure at least a few people have a full copy of it, and of these people, many would benefit from this leaking even if it didn't air officially.
I know this is just a rumour, but just looking at it makes me furious lol. I think I'll be so mad if they turn…
I think this is pretty unfounded rumor that we should not be repeating because it riles people up with no basis in fact. Also Sabrina Chen just joined LYX's agency, and I suspect that this wouldn't happen if she ended up having a much bigger role in the drama.
Tencent is making these decision, not NRTA I thought? To export overseas?
Tencent can possibly make a deal with the govt with export though. I think there is precedence for some drama that was banned domestically due to Fan Bingbing was allowed to sell broadcasting rights to TVB in HK. Or something like that.

Yeah it's true and in the regulations. They treat tv production the same as manufacturing food or medicine - even if you were export only you would still have to pass local standards. So it's not just the broadcasting they control.
Can anyone till me what is grey about Tantai jin? Can someone note any instances of him being evil. Also, how…
It's more toxic in the book. They definitely made TTJ a more sympathetic character in the drama, where a lot of the bad things he does can be justified. As they say often in chinese internet - let's separate the drama from the novel.
Hypothetically... if there's NO censorship, would people rather watch a dangai TV adaptation of 2ha (i.e. bromance only) or danmei adaptation (where there are actually love scenes)? Obviously, nothing as explicit as the original, max something that could be shown on HBO
It goes both ways; the surprise level of Demon as ML is dimmer now but many pp also anticipating the next Demon…
PS I like the food analogy! Let's just hope people don't get sick of the let's turn the bad guy good plot. For example, after eternal love, no one can do love over X lives anymore without some other twist. Even love and redemption was just a minor hit (though to be fair it was not as well-executed)
You mean here? There's no official time set yet (Chinese drama air dates tend to be announced super last minute), but Youku has said it's likely going to be early 2023.
Hmm what did you read about the novel? Thought it was good and the adaptation will take out all the more objectionable…
Hmm I find this review to be highly subjective and potentially a misread of what the author is trying to say. I don't remember the novel ever suggesting the FL to be "pampered" or "a total psychopath herself" (and I read it a few times in Chinese) Though the reviewer is entitled to her opinions and interpretation, I would like her to point to the exact passage where this is evidenced.
I don't think the author ever tries to justify TTJ's actions as OK and in fact categorically portrays him as an evil character until his final redeeming act. Readers sympathize with TTJ because of his tragic upbringing, just as we do IRL when people are driven to bad actions due to circumstance and other things beyond their control, like the personality they are born with. The central messaging here is that everyone deserves a chance to love and be good.
One of the most famous lines in the novel is something along the lines of "even a demon wishes to be blessed by the gods".
If this is not loud and clear from the novel (and it will be even louder and clearer in the drama), readers are not engaging deep enough and completely missing the point.
Is it possible people are all reading an amateurish translation? If so, I don't think it's fair. They should make it clearer they are reviewing a shit translation instead of the Chinese original because (1) things are bound to get lost in translation esp if not done by a professional and (2) you are reading through the subjective lens and interpretation of, again, an amateur translator.
I've read some nasty stuff about the novel so I hope it shall divert from the source material in the best way…
Hmm what did you read about the novel? Thought it was good and the adaptation will take out all the more objectionable bits. The FL is not a damsel in distress and is fact very heroic and sets love aside
Ahhh read some melon that Legend of Anle is now likely to wait till December. They're not going to make the summer window, so I guess they don't want to waste this heavyhitting drama on fall.
It's probably going to take 5-6 weeks to air (VIP timeline), which means TTEOTM will be looking at the earliest mid Jan, if not Feb. ....
They should really export it overseas!
