So after 288 days of filming (2017/11/02 to 2018/08/16) Eagle Flag has finally wrapped up. The crew documented some of logistics involved in making this drama. Notable facts are: - The number of night scenes alone involved shooting over 134 nights. - A total of 1576 performers acted in the drama. - The action and stunt team alone consisted of 159 people. - An on-set computer visual effects crew of 18. - Over 2000+ sets of armors representing different armies are created.
i am still trying to get anchored in this show. on ep 4. Is her shadow supposed be the love interest or the blind…
I assume you're following the drama on English subtitles. I don't know how complete those are but by episode 4 both ML are still relating to FL mostly thru their (changing) perception of her filtered by their own core values. But at the same time, both ML at the point have yet to reveal their inner thoughts to the audience and we are mean to judge their characters by their speech and actions shown on screen. There are good reasons why neither ML could afford to pour their hearts out to just anyone.
I would say part of the "fun" of watching the show is to see the characters expressing themselves through their conflicts of values, anger and bitterness, love and hate, guilt and hope, consequences of past actions and personal responsibility to others - which hopefully move the audience in the end. So why not just let the story articulates to the you as the viewer whom the FL should choose as the love interest rather just let someone tell you now? ;)
Ending theme song with lyrics https://youtu.be/1F5dgYb4FhY
Thanks for the effort of creating a video cut for the often neglected ending song sang by our lead Li Yi Tong. The original Chinese lyrics is pretty good but it's difficult to do a proper English translation to capture the meaning.
To commemorate BR's achievement of exceeding 1 billion episode views on Youku a few hours ago, I'll shared an interesting trivia: According to the producer, scenes in Episode 17 (the Blood Lotus side-story arc) were in fact shot last in BR. By then, the production has no more money left from their modest budget and also out of time. This is part of the reason why this sequence is a bit more abrupt and disjointed from the rest of the story.
in ep 23-24what did chang anh give wang mei when he was kneeling outside?did she forgive him?thanks!!
Chang An was implanted with a "heart pain" GU. When an activated proximity trigger worm is less than one foot away from the GU in his heart, he would start to feel a stabbing heart pain which intensity grow inverse proportional to the distance.
As part of the lopsided deal from Cha Luo, Chang An is allowed to be Wan Mei's shadow once more if he planted the trigger worm inside her. Wan Mei did not know about the deal, Chang An's GU implant or how the trigger works but she allowed him to put the worm inside her because she trusts Chang An.
@Erudite Is WanMei’s blood a good thing or bad thing for her. I know Her blood is able to attract low grade…
'Nine Lives' is an engineered "GU" geared to enhance the survivability of its human host. Gong Zi needs it to maintain his failing heart. Wan Mei swallowed "Nine Lives" at the end of Episode 1 and it has achieved endosymbiosis with her, giving her limited ability to attract and control certain type of GU (which is not entirely witchcraft)
I seem to be the only here who like Chang Ah. I want her to be with the Prince. I feel so badly for the Prince…
Wan Mei is a conscientious objector of killing "good people" - not against all killings. When Gong Zi saw Wan Mei's revealed "shadow self" in Episode 9: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8MSuoNelKB0 he understood her in a more complete manner than any other characters in the story at that time. In some other drama, after a traumatic event, the heroine would be shown embracing her dark side and viewers would find her actions justified. However, as Wan Mei "awakens from her naive self", she had the insight to take only what's useful in her "shadow self" and reject or suppress what is evil in it. In episode 20, when Wan Mei rejected someone's offer for alliance, she criticized the other party for "not standing high enough and has no vision", it is a reference to Episode 9, showing that she is is learning to integrate previous unknown aspects of her personality into a true self.
Just wanted to throw a thanks for Erudite for all the great info, comments, subs, etc!
Thanks for your appreciation :) I will be doing at least one more full sub - for the episode(s) with the story arc where Gui Hua city found itself defending against a full invasion.
I really love how well Li Yi Tong is portraying her character. Not over the top or cutesy. Thankful that they're…
BR utilized on-set dialog recording and Li Yi Tong use her own voice playing Wan Mei. In fact, all three leads did well with their original voices. A few characters in BR were dubbed but many other characters featured their own voices.
liuliu87- It was a sexual surge pill. She wanted to get him in bed, but he resisted it.
@liuliu87 In episode 21 and preview of episode 23 we see that in spite of strong temptation and coercion, Chang An and Wan Mei fought hard to keep themselves chaste for one another. I don't think anything more need to be said ;)
BTW, try not to nest comments 3 levels or more deep if you want to ask a new question because level 4+ answer will appear as a level 3 comment on screen. This might caused confusion to readers who want to follow a comment.
I think this an important question for those feeling disinclined to start watching this drama because of the source…
I have not read the novel. But the story in the drama, even thought it is written by the same author is totally different. So the novel wouldn't help anyway. On episode 23 preview, it is a GU but we don't know which type yet. Also, the GU is to be implanted by Chang An into Wan Mei, not to himself.
1. Gong Zhi is the Duke of Ning because of his mother's relationship with Li Ke Yong, the Emperor's father.2.…
Thanks for keeping the faith in Wuxia after so many years, @ Lilly. We seemed to share a bit of common Weltanschauung. Keep a tab on https://kisskh.at/30396-sword-dynasty if you haven't.
Forgive me for asking, but is there rape in this drama...and if so, is there retribution for it? Was not prepared…
I think this an important question for those feeling disinclined to start watching this drama because of the source novel. So I will answer without tagging this as spoiler: After 22 episodes, no rape scene was shown on screen. Also, I'll summarized what I wrote before: Some of the characters, dialogues and plots are taken from the novel but they are put into new settings and does not necessary reflected that of the original novel.
Yes, Liu Guang requested that she be made Chang An's mistress - to save his life.Episode 18 provides viewers with…
I answered you two days ago :p He is a rightful heir to the throne of Tang Empire. However, the old Tang Empire is no more and he need a leverage to be the King. That object is in Cha Luo's box. He need to get it, and therefore putting himself (and everyone close to him) in danger.
Ok, so my fully English subtitled Episode 1 for Bloody Romance is now available. I had tried uploading a few times into different sites and the video didn't successful completed because of size or was blacklisted due to detection of HD copyrighted contents :p So finally I had to use Openload, it works but may not stream as fast as other sites. Another drawback is the site may displayed some advertisement previews of questionable taste. I have nothing to do the selection of those ads :p
Due to speed of OpenLoad I offer two version of Episode 1 video: 1. Best quality: https://openload.co/f/gXQlEUHhVks (version 2 - new link) It is encoded at 1080p full HD with slightly reduced quality from my original so that it will fit under 1 gigabytes. 2. A 720p streaming quality versions which should be faster to load with less stuttering. It can be found at: https://openload.co/f/LFLLY8L4oEU (new link) (UPDATED to version 2 New version fixes a few minor errors and added a complete translation of Opening Theme Song)
About 340 lines of dialogue, narration and lyrics on all scenes have been translated. I would say that my version is quite accurate to the source, with only some parts altered slightly for better flow, readability or just to clarify. In my translation, I have tried to preserve the personality of each character as expressed in their choice of words, what the words concealed and speech patterns as in the original language. One example is the flattery formal manner the Madam speaks, and the circumstances where she would deliberately called the Colonel, 'General' by mistake.
in ep 18 is chang an is liu guang master now and not wan mei?sorri was watching raw and dont know what happening…
Yes, Liu Guang requested that she be made Chang An's mistress - to save his life. Episode 18 provides viewers with insight to why Liu Guang does things her way - saving our heroes yet side with Cha Luo at the same time. Liu Guang said she has only known of 3 "good" Shadows since she came to Gui Hua - Chang An is the third one and Xing Feng (Cha Luo's Bailiff) is the 2nd.
Wan Mei gave Chang An a chance to explain his actions at the hotel. Chang An choose not to, deliberately trying to distance himself from Wan Mei after finding out his true legacy. :( Almost everyone in Gui Hua knows that Wan Mei and Chang An still cares very much for each other ;) Note that in light of what Liu Guang said about Xing Feng, he sentenced the ice block punishment for Chang An but put Wan Mei in charge of overseeing it.
Details you didn't ask but I'll add: 1. In EP17, Wan Mei actually bought a house for the young girl before she left. She also explained to Yue Ying her rationale for not bringing the orphan to Gui Hua City. 2. Liu Guang told Chang An she has something to heal Wan Mei's face. Later before end of EP18 she told Chang An there seemed to be something hard under her pillow ;)
