Is this drama adapted from a novel? Can anyone tell me where to read that novel?
Yes, but the original novel is really X18-rated "fantasy wuxia" with extreme explicit graphic scenes which turned me off immediately at first chapter. Even without reading further on the novel I am quite certain that if they filmed the book as it is, the show would be banned in most countries around the world. Fortunately (?), the author herself is the screenwriter and apparently change the story for the drama so that it is now NC16, MA15+ or equivalent ratings in your country.
"Legend of the Naga Pearls" movie is listed as a side story and it's the only related content I've seen. Do you…
Wings of Wind (Legends of Feather) was announced after shooting is completed for Martial Universe.
The first Novoland novels ("Eagle Flag") was written by Jing Nan. Around that time Pan Hangtian (Novoland: Dark Veld *) and another author proposed other authors to join them to create PRC's first "shared oriental fantasy world" franchaise. They adopted "Novoland" as the name of this shared world. Eventually "irreconcilable differences" caused this core group to break apart.
So far there are no official English translations of Novoland novels.
* Dark Veld TV series has been approved by SARFT but no further news of its progress after nearly a year.
I was pleased that Viki has added a fan channel for this upcoming drama and hope it will be licensed for world-wide…
Thanks, it is quite unfortunate that Viki videos almost invariably show up as "not licensed" for my region - I can watch dramas easily through other venues but it means I will not able to join in any cooperative translation work for Viki.

"Naga Pearls" is a non-canonical Novoland story. But to answer your question, yes - Yi Tianzhan, a important support character is one and so is the female lead Yu Ran (her native name is "Sasimore" in Winged language). Without giving too much spoiler away, Yu Ran is consider quite special (in terms of abilities) even for a Winged race. BTW, the canonical Novoland: Wings of Wind series I commented about 8 months ago in the Tribes and Empires section might have stalled. Zhang Li (Martial Universe) was supposed to direct it.
OMG helppp , what is the title of that music that plays in episode 34 towards the end when the crown prince carried…
If you are referring to the song that started playing when Wuji carried Fuyao across the lotus pond, it is part B of the ending theme song at conclusion of every episode. Listen until closing credit ends to confirm if that's the music you're after.
Oh please somebody tell them that don't delay "Martial Universe" more.!!! The trailer with thriller and suspense…
The latest notice is that only the first 40 episodes will be shown in August and this is now officially known as Martial Universe: Part 1. The remaining 20 episodes (Part 2) will be released at a yet to be determined date. I have submitted the change of release details to MDL.
Anyone knows what Wuji means exactly by calling Fuyao "Yada" ?
What Vivian and Ninan said is indeed correct. However, in the period and context of the Fu Yao story it is also a verbal jest by Wu Ji on how Fu Yao was raised up - as a "slave/maid girl". The etymology of the word Yātou or in traditional Chinese form 丫頭 is 'Y shaped head' which appeared in Chinese writings around late 8th century to refer to a coming-of-age teen girl with a 'two buns' hairstyle (Y shape with the head). But as indentured servant girls began to adopt the 'two buns' hairstyle in ancient China they are known as丫鬟 (Yāhuan) and sometimes simply called Yātou by their owners. Note that using Yātou to address a young girl is often an endearing term but can be consider slightly disrespectful to an adult woman, depending on context, especially during the Tang and Song dynasties (Golden Age of China) * * The story of Fu Yao took place in an alternate world.
Guys, it's been a frckin year since I found out abt this drama and it had trailer even then! Why are they starving…
1. When the trailer was released the producer said that it took them 2 months just to create the 2 mins and a half trailer. It seemed that all the Chinese and English sites just report how impressive the trailer is without mentioning the hard work involved. 2. Filming for the series was only completed on September 19, 2017 - 3 weeks after the trailer release. 3. It would take at least 6 months for proper post-production and seeing how passionate the creative team on this project is I do not think they will rush it at all. 4. It cannot be shown this July because give the iQiYi slot was given to https://kisskh.at/22500-the-destiny-of-white-snake. 5. There is a time slot available in early August, but if they don't take it, then the next slot after that is already taken up by https://kisskh.at/22170-fights-break-sphere since it is produced by the same company (their star Li Qin is in both dramas) and it has been waiting longer.
It is confirmed the music of Ever Night with be composed by Roc Chen. Reportedly over two hours of original music were scored for Ever Night season 1, making this potentially one of the longest original soundtrack for Chinese ancient drama series. (In comparison, the soundtrack for Nirvana in Fire is less than one hour long).
So far only around 100 secs of this remix music is revealed in the 5 min trailer starting at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pR6QAx73A9w&t=116 (The remainder of trailer used licensed stock music as a temp track).
Yesterday I managed to reach a milestone of 40 cast members (6 leads + 32 support + 2 guests) for this series at MDL. My last around of new profiles creation added several lesser known but fine actors from ethnic minority groups of China. The next round of cast additions will be on the remaining disciples of Fuzi, followed by other newcomers, completing each new artiste profile with a mini biography. By the time the drama is released I hope to have a more or less complete cast listing for over 60 characters listed. Here's wishing the ensemble cast all the best and that they all worked to embody the ethos that “There are no small parts - only small actors.”

Wow, Yu He Wei, Wu Xiu Bo... great cast. Also I checked Baidu, there is a female in the main ensemble as well,…
I guess you are referring to Hou Mengsha, the female lead who also costarred with Yu He Wei in a previous TV series. The reason she wasn't listed is because no one had created an entry for her in the MDL database :p I will updated the cast with a more complete list shortly, but there is slight delay before a new artiste can be added to MDL's people database.
Added several new supporting characters' photos to https://kisskh.at/26037-novoland-eagle-flag/photos Among them are General Bai Yi, Longge Zhenhuang the Lion King, the Wolf Lord, Ying Wuyi's daughter and Ji Ye's father. Cast list will be updated shortly...
The release date for this has been pushed back to August 27th to make way for https://kisskh.at/23184-meteor-garden which is taking its July 9th slot instead.
Quite a few of the 'inexperienced new actors/actresses' are fellow classmates or at least went to the same acting…
Technically it is Penguin Pictures of Tencent Group that will be doing the creative work making Pillow Book but we are going off topic here. I will just close with this - Ever Night (as I mentioned before) and https://kisskh.at/23171-legend-of-fu-yao (produced by Linmon Pictures) both received major funding from Tencent.
Quite a few of the 'inexperienced new actors/actresses' are fellow classmates or at least went to the same acting…
Tencent is the owner of Tencent Video (QQLive) among things :S https://www.theguardian.com/business/2018/jan/13/tencent-the-500bn-chinese-tech-firm-you-may-never-have-heard-of They are the production company for the Pillow Book title and cast as listed in MDL. GPM (the makers of Ever Night) originally plan for a 25 episodes series - however as soon as the filming began for Eternal Life began in Feb 2016 with another company I think they know it is hard to match such a production - so they trade the production rights to Tencent. In the end, I think it is a Win-Win situation, both of us get the books we wanted to make into TV series, with proper funding :D
Quite a few of the 'inexperienced new actors/actresses' are fellow classmates or at least went to the same acting…
Well, then the fact that this production company is willing to trade away their (former) TV adaptation rights to https://kisskh.at/27226-three-lives-three-worlds-the-pillow-book to Tencent on October 2016 in exchange for greater funding to make this series instead may came as a surprise to you...
Well after watching the trailer (in a comment by Erudite), it looks like they changed his character personality..…
If you are referring to "Red Wall, White Snow", that scene occurred at 1/4 point of the full novel. if you read to the chapter I listed, the actual context and what's is being said by whom should be quite clear. So how much of the novel have you read? It is best not to presume things you haven't read and project your expectations on how the novel will turn out to an adaptation we have not yet seen.

As for the choice of Roc Chen, I am very happy since he is a internationally known composer with a number of works I am fond of - just a few samples below:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GU7gjF2E3YY (Song from https://kisskh.at/8498-red-sorghum-2014)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4wsDwiMh-eo (Dancing Butteflies from 'A Bite of China')
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=clii-61LYFY (Ending song from https://kisskh.at/11122-legend-of-miyue)
Also, Chen's involvement means almost certainty that the soundtrack of Ever Night would be available for iTunes :)

The first line of dialogue in the trailer is:
"When you stare into an abyss, the abyss also stares into you" (a quote from Nietzsche)
