Bloody Romance received some early buyers overseas - from a total of 13 countries.
While details are scanted, it had representatives from 5 continents including the middle East.
From the foreign language posters revealed, we can deduced some of the buyer countries.
Some of taglines and translated titles is not from I would expected based on my limited knowledge of those languages but nevertheless it's still cool news to me :p

I have decided to just complete my translation for Episode 1 and go on with my episode preview channel for Bloody Romance. :)

Just curious whether most of you here can see subbed versions above and how good it is since the videos on that channel are not available to my country to check out.

Currently I am half-way English subbing Episode 1 but did find it slow going as I am not a professional :p and there's few hundred lines of dialogue in it I have to time and synchronize properly on screen. Since I started so late I will probably not finished it if there's no need now, let alone more than one episode.

You should think of this as stories with same characters in 2 parallel worlds:
1. This drama -> Story A on world A
2. Book (original + sequel) -> Story B on world B

All the character arcs are interesting so far and there are more to come as the story unfolds.
A little teaser, just from the first few episodes I could already feel that the male lead B is a kind of 'anti-Mei Chang Su' (from Nirvana in Fire) ^.^

Yue Qing Ya mentioned this in his conversation with the Emperor around the 25th minute of the episode.

The original novel actually has a frivolous happy ending.
The author said she has written a new ending for the drama and this will superseded the old one. Also, she announced that there will be a book sequel forthcoming, 11 years after she concluded her original novel.

Unfortunate this is the wrong episode (no. 3 instead), also the video quality in this link wasn't that great.
In view that the director spend extra money and effort filming the entire series in a 21:9 wide screen format, I recommend people who want to watch the raw now, do a free registration at the official Youku site or at least wait for a better quality version on your favorite streaming site.

The singer of the opening song is Yuan Yawei, also known as Tia Ray.
The name of the song is "Yi Sheng Deng Ni" or translated into English:
"Waiting for you my whole life"

After five episodes, it continue to be a compelling watch. I suggest people not to pay too much attention to the contents of the source novel but enjoy this wonderful reimagined story by the original author.
The semi-historical world-building is good here and the fact the leads Li Yitong and Qu Chuxiao and a few others use their own voices added to the enjoyment of the show.

Tempted to English-sub 1 episode myself just to get things rolling - but not on Viki since I am in an "unsupported region" >.<

Well, after watching 2+ episodes, I would said this show's 1st episode is easily the best series premiere for a period C-drama released in 2018 for me so far. While not as amazing as the first, the 2nd episode also managed to deliver - exposition are relatively seamless with interesting characterization abound.
I have a feeling the writer is remaking her book story into a more sanguine form for the drama yet retaining its dark tones and strengths. The narrative is first rated so far.

In chapter 1, more of the former but it also featured a form of mutilation.

Notwithstanding my misgivings about the source novel (see below) - the trailers, production team and cast of this drama did intrigue me.

PS: Not sure whether there was a misinterpretation in the English synopsis, but Chang An is Wan Mei's assigned "shadow", a role with a very specific purpose in the drama.
