I think this is one of the best Chinese dramas I have seen this year. I also applaud the writers for simply skipping the angst and melodrama instead of trying to show it and potentially dragging the drama. The time skip does not make sense, but it makes for a better story with the addition of a child who can help move the drama forward. I personally enjoyed watching 35 episodes that left me wanting more rather than sitting through 50 episodes complaining about how draggy the plot was and how flip-floppy the couples are. Zhou Yu Tong was magnificent (or any other superlative you want to use) in this drama.
I thought this drama was okay overall for the usual 24 episode fluffy Chinese romantic drama. I do take issue with how poorly they dealt with the mental illness aspect. Her illness and treatment were woven so much into the drama itself that to have made it more realistic would have probably taken away most of the drama itself.
I thought it was a really good drama overall. It started off light. Maybe not fluffy, but definitely light and easy to watch. After about 2/3 of the way into it, it dropped off into an abyss of dark melodrama for the rest of the drama. Minus the special as it tried to tie things up in the most fluffy way. The "tiger" transformation scene (in episode 35) was probably one of the cutest things I have ever seen in a drama.
You and I are thinking exactly the same about the ML.You described the ML in "Strong Woman Do Bong Soon" and it…
If the exes were toned down from a 12 on a irrationality scale of 1-10 to about a 6, the drama would have been so much better. It could also be that the leads were so steady that it made the exes look irrational by comparison.
Good advice!! I did exactly what you said and I recommend it to any newcomer.
I humbly and sincerely appreciate your kind words. I have been using the site for awhile and I still find new tools and tips to make the most out of watching Korean (or other Asian) dramas from this site.
My introduction to Korean dramas came via Netflix.

In my opinion, a poor understanding of personal space and being socially stunted are some of the red flags for creepiness. When you feel threatened but not sure why or how to respond in the setting, that is probably when you feel creepiness. It does not mean the other person is bad or has bad intentions. It is our way of trying to figure out how we are going to react. At least that is how I view it.
Everyone of importance in the drama has deceived someone else in the drama. The argument about who has the moral high ground is really a question of who you think has the higher moral high ground. You might get several different answers to that.

I do not think there is a good or bad creep. Being a creep or creepy has a negative connotation. Without knowing anyone's true intentions yet, I would say the doctor is uncomfortably creepy and the other one is disturbingly creepy.

And that is why it is called a cliffhanger. Thankfully there are four episodes left and not a drama that ended unexpectedly or got cancelled after one season. Those are the worst cliffhangers.
I feel like jeongha is literally only there to feud the tension between Haehyo and hyejoon at this point lol she…
I feel the same about Hae Hyo. I wonder what he has been doing since Hye Joon got famous. He appears to have stuff to do but always seems to have way too much time on his hands.

I am often reminded that everyone has a different set of eyes on which they see the world. I do not think Hae Hyo would have been invited into her house had it not been raining. I also do not think she is looking to make anyone jealous or seeking out options. Both mains are struggling individually, and therefore their relationship is struggling as well.

I agree with this to the second sursolid. No way she would do something like that. I think she knows HH likes her to some degree given some of the awkward scenes. For a guy like HH, who has no real backbone, to do that to JH and in turn to HJ is really not a good look. I hope JH cuts him off before he says or does something that cannot be unsaid or undone.

It reminded me of the Charlie Jung cliffhanger. While I am not sure it is fully resolved, it did not seem to carry as much weight in the next episode as the previous episode seemed to suggest.
I try to welcome everyone's opinion, but do you have to be so vulgar and rude? Especially with personal attacks. Of course it is not very nice, but it also weakens any sort of point you are trying to make.
I could be wrong, but that is not the vibe I was getting. Especially since Record of Youth comes across as a family/slice of life/lightweight drama. It did seem to look like the point where Hae Hyo might finally tell Jung Ha how he really feels instead of hinting at it. He is a coward and a creep to begin with, but that would really be a jerk move for him to do that to her and Hye Joon. Hye Joon is already in a drama style kill box with seemingly everyone out to get him and his supporters unable to assist or doing more harm than good. The drama would not do that to him, would it?
