They used that ep to resolve some situation using a lot of comedic strings. I was not disappointed. I liked how…
My hope is that she gets stopped at the door, or that it gets dealt with pretty quickly to leave room for DH-SB happiness. I do not like to make unreasonable demands of show runners, but BR deserves a second season or additional episodes or movie or something. Not just for DH and SB either. There are so many plots that could have been expanded on. What about the little used JSJ and other office workers that seemed friendly with DH and YJ too. The sisters' mothe, EB's career, and DS and GB as well. This drama was definitely not lacking in characters and stories to tell. Maybe they created such a big canvas that I cannot help but to want to fill it in myself.

The DS-DB arc was good, but could have been more. She is rich and still in school (I think since they rarely show her in school), and he is a poor webtoon artist. They could get a spinoff and if done properly, would be really funny and interesting. The best friends meeting again was really good, and I hope it leads to DH's mother and father to understand and respect each other more. Concerning SB's reply, it was a bit unexpected only in the sense that the drama is running out of time. Why stretch it out when she could have said yes, and have the same events happen. I disagree that is it proof that she is awakening from her childish infatuation. I feel she might have been infatuated before she started to work then live with DH and his family. She actually got to work and spend a lot of time outside of work with DH. I am trying to think of a proper analogy, so hear it goes. Before she started to work with DH, he was like a bright, beautiful appliance in the store on display with SB glancing through the window with wishful thinking. Then, she got to buy it, take it home and use it. While she noticed it was not as perfect as it was in her mind, she did not regret her purchase for one second. She sees DH as a real person, and has seen the good and the bad, the high and the low, and the happy and the sad. I believe she truly loves and cares for him and his family. Maybe she feels she does not deserve him which was only compounded by YJ and also with the unusual misunderstanding/lack of communication with DH's mother. DH spoke up, but clearly that was not enough (writer's intent). So another case of noble idiocy as she prepares to leave.
I thought episode 15 was really good. If I just took episode 15 and looked at it on its own, it reminded me of a classic Korean romantic comedy episode. Comedy, romance, scheming, misunderstandings, and family drama. My issue is that when you put that kind of episode in BR, it seems a bit misplaced because the flow of the story does not really seem to say it is necessary. BR is more comedy than romance, and never seemed to take itself that serious. Don't get me wrong, it has all of that and then some, but the pace seems a bit off. The introduction seemed to take the first half of the drama. Then, action started picking up leading to what I might consider the climax in episode 14. Episode 15 seemed to expand on the after effects of the climax and looks to run into episode 16. There also needs to be a conclusion where I hope they tie everything up nicely. I would also like to see a payoff of a happy ending too. That seems a lot to ask for in one hour. I said it in a previous comment and I will say it again. I would gladly take a few episodes from the first half of the show and use that time to add episodes to the last half.
There are so many facets of a person that determines who they are. There are also so many things that have to go right between two people for a relationship to be successful and last. One thing a person cannot have control over is their age. So a person should possibly miss out on the love of a lifetime over something they have no real control over? My opinion about BR is that the couple has chemistry and they think they do as well.

There is something about Asian dramas that make me want to be a completionist. Usually they have a set number of episodes and a majority are available to watch all at once. The auto start next episodes and showing up in the queues do not help matters with streaming services. It can almost be like a taunt more than a prompt. Not being able to finish can sometimes make me feel like I have commitment issues. Who wants to feel like that? So of course I try to grind my way through the episodes. Then, I wonder if it is like eating a whole cake in one sitting. Did I really enjoy it, or suffered for what I thought was supposed to be enjoying? There are a few shows that I have not been able to finish. Now, I just drop them, and that would be my advice regardless of what show you are talking about. Drop, drop, drop, and drop. The good news is that the shows are not going anywhere. Dropping a drama does not mean you have to forget it. Sure, you may never feel like watching some of them. I have also found that how I feel, and what I think I want or need make a difference in how I "watch" a show. After some time, perhaps you will see the dramas differently. Maybe a particular life experience will lead you to see a story in a new light. Or maybe you will forget them, and then accidentally stumble across them and wonder where the show has been all of your life. I say that because it has been my experience. It may not be true for everyone. Thanks for taking the time to write an article. I clicked on your profile to find you have written quite a few articles I have read, so keep up the good work.
Assuming you have seen the previous 14 episodes, are you a contrarian? Perhaps you are magnanimous and see a path…
Technically it was nine episodes, but they did not have that much time together. We kept hearing two plus years, but at least in my opinion, I never really felt they were together. They never really "clicked" or looked comfortable together. Compare that to DH and SB who were together for most of the drama and enjoyed each other's company. Glancing at the comments, I think most of us would trade at least five of those first nine episodes for five more at the end.
I watched this a few weeks ago and just watched SSH in He Was Cool the other day. It is hard to believe there is 16 years between the movie and the drama.
Assuming you have seen the previous 14 episodes, are you a contrarian? Perhaps you are magnanimous and see a path of redemption for YJ? That being said, in the Korean dramas I have seen, YJ does not look like the villain of a drama. It could also be as simple as picturing yourself choosing between KYJ and HSH.
What does "lacks consideration in portraying different genders and produced contents that can cause viewers discomfort and aversion" even mean? I can understand if they have a problem with slang or swear words, but my Korean is not at a level to watch other shows to point out any sort of unfair criticism on BR. It seems most of the drama about the drama started before it even aired or after a few episodes aired. It seems a case of the squeaky wheel getting the oil. Does the show have issues? Yeah, it does. The world has issues, and almost every Korean drama I have seen has issues. This show ironed out a lot of the issues by simply moving on from them during the course of episodes. Part of me is glad that a world exists where small groups can have their voices heard. Everyone finds themselves in the minority from time to time, and I definitely want to be heard too. I hope we can realize the power we have and use it responsibly. I want people who are interested in the show to give it a chance, then make their own decisions about it. For any show for that matter.
no, it's not. people who live in homogeneous societies are used to seeing only one kind of people and cannot distinguished…
It is really difficult to interpret what one statement means on its own without any context. I agree that one way to look at it is just a sort of group bias that people tend to pick up on visual cues that they are most familiar with and struggle with ones they are not. While it is not the same thing, I would compare it to knowing English but being able to see words in French or Spanish, but being totally confused by Korean and Japanese. I hope it does not make me a bad person. But the original statement included the word "all" in it. That seems like something more negative. Using the same analogy, it would be like saying Korean and Japanese languages confuse me since they are all the same. In regards to the first statement, another one or several were made which paired with the first, show some less than harmless feelings. Aside from that, less than four days left to the next new episode. I take it you will be watching?
I see it as just a statement. One without context.
I called them issues, and I agree that they did not rise to the level of not being able to watch it. I thought the show was going to make JSJ the "villain" but it seems that they are going to make YJ go all out to be a bad person. I really does not match her character at the very beginning. I hoped she would realize the relationship was the problem and remain friends with DH and accept SB. In my opinion, I see a villain as hard and sharp. I think the actress who plays YJ (Han Sun-hwa) has soft and rounded features, so it is difficult to want to see her as a villain. More suited for a turn towards bad but never really going that far. DH and BS had a lot of screen time and while you could tell they were not the same age, they looked good together. With only two episodes left, and I assume at least one to deal with YJ, I do not know how it will all play out. I am looking forward to it though.
This is really disappointing. It's making me sad. Only 2 episodes left for their romantic love story. I'm sure…
There was romance, just not the type that you usually see in other Korean romantic comedies. There are two more episodes, so maybe they will cram a lot of sweet romance into them. If that fails, start chanting with me. "Eight more episodes! Eight more episodes!" I am also willing to accept "Second season! Second season!" as well.
I see it as just a statement. One without context.
It sounds like the person is being purposely difficult. And of course a person can be racist and still watch Korean dramas and eat Korean food. I do not know if the BR comment section is the best place to delve into the differences between bias, prejudice, racism, and discrimination. Discussions that revolve around those topics can really get heated and get away from the original intent. On topic, what is your opinion of the drama so far, and what do you hope to see in the final episodes?
I see it as just a statement. One without context.
In my opinion, it seems like a less than positive statement, especially since the word "all" was used. I know when I first started watching Asian dramas, it was so new that some actors and actresses would look the same, compounded by the unfamiliarity with names and the spoken language. Maybe it was over-exaggerated to make a point but meant to be harmless. Given the current climate, I can see it being offensive, but you can always try to engage in a discussion with the other person and see what they meant.
I see it as just a statement. One without context.
I do not want to leave it as appearing to straddle the fence. I would definitely want more information before making a decision on what the meaning of the statement is.
Wow this drama is literally being carried by the main leads bc the writing, directing, and editing is absolutely…
When I first read your comment, it was late and I thought I was just not reading it correctly. I figured when I got some rest maybe it would make some sense to me. It still does not. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and if you think it is a 0, 1, or 10/10, that is fine. I would give some shows negative scores. What you see, choose to see or not see in a drama is your prerogative as well. And if in your mind, you want to take everyone involved in the drama from the executives to the actors to the part time crew and send JCW and KYJ on a trip while you berate and light into the rest of them, I suppose it is your imagination. Part of me is actually glad that you take such a vested interest to want to see something as good as it can possibly be. I take issue with statements that seem factually incorrect. After a brief, but not complete survey of the drama (in addition to having previously watched all the past episodes), the mains have more time than the sides. It also could be that I see the mains' light shine brighter so it just seems that way too. I also think that some of your word choices really paint you into a corner with how you view the series and how others see how you view the series. Words like literally, absolutely, only, and nothing make the situation seem hopeless and make me wonder why you would punish yourself for 14 minutes, let alone 14 hours with BR regardless of who is starring in it. I also think that some of your sentences could be worded to express your thoughts rather than to tell others how they are supposed to think. I am sure if you wait long enough, someone will condense all the sweet DH/SB scenes to share. And if you are the one that is suffering to create that video for others, then I will thank you in advance for your hard work for others. JCW and KYJ are really good together in this drama, but so are DH and SB. Can I count you in for the last two hours? Maybe, just maybe these last two hours will make the previous 14 all worth it for you. Life is like that sometimes.
Is it too late to petition for eight more episodes? After seeing the most recent episodes (13-14), I still think the episodes are getting better and better. I do not want to forget the episodes from the first half because they set the scene and were good, but the second half of the show has been really good. I hesitate to use this comparison, but it reminds me of a massage chair. Getting a massage is enjoyable. If the setting is too low, you do not feel anything, and if it is too high you feel beat up. But when the setting is just right, it is amazing. In my opinion, these past half dozen episodes have been dialed in. Comedy, drama, romance, action, pace, and development have seem to hit their stride. Curiosity has led me down the rabbit hole of this comment section, so I would like to express some of my thoughts as well. Mainly on YJ's character and then on DH's feelings toward SB. I wish that YJ could have been a more supportive character instead of the classic villain role she is running to. I wanted the relationship to be toxic because YJ and DH did not belong together, not for YJ to be such a person. The show made efforts to show that JSJ was that sort of person, not necessarily YJ. DH likes SB. DH has liked SB for awhile. Perhaps even before he became aware of it is how I see it. He described it best when he said love is not always at first sight, but a destiny made gradually with memories. He also referenced the time three years ago when he met her while saying that. There have been a few big events, and a lot of little ones throughout the drama that showed me as much as she was running to him, he was also taking steps towards her. Agree or disagree with my opinions, but what is true is that we are getting towards the end now. The drama has been really surprising and definitely entertaining. The comment section has been a source of surprise and entertainment as well. This is my first time really being as invested in conversation about a drama as I am in the drama itself. I have seen better dramas, and I have seen worse dramas. I am not sure why I felt the need to constantly comment on this one. On a side note, I hope that my comments age well. While a person's comments cannot tell you everything about them, they surely can tell you something.
I appreciate the list. It gives viewers like me a reason to watch a drama I have either never heard of or was hesitating to start for one reason or another. One of my favorite dramas is the Chinese remake of I Hear Your Voice called No Secrets. The OST for the drama is really good as well. It has songs that make the drama even better, catchy songs, romantic songs, ballads, songs in English, and songs sung by both leads. Summer or not is just a matter of perspective. I can see summer in them.
