"Great character development for most of the main cast except for the male lead, who saw no growth because frankly…
Yup he had some flaws but even his flaws were “perfect” flaws. He was too loyal to the Khan, who didnt trust him all that much. But even in the end he was still loyal to the Khan. And throughout the show (even from the beginning) he did not follow the khans orders in order to help Chang ge, the eagle tribe and at times even the people of Tang. He also stayed true to his principle of conquering but not harming innocent people. So I’d say although he was loyal to the Khan, he never blindly followed his orders, so I don’t really see his loyalty as a flaw. The only thing Sun was reluctant to do was to attack the Khan, since doing so would literally make someone he calls his father his enemy and they’d have to fight to the death. The other main characters had more negative flaws in the beginning, which were resolved by the end of the show. E.g Chang Ge was arrogant and vengeful, Leyan was weak and naive, Hao Du only blindly followed orders. None of that had these traits by the end of the show because they grew out of them. sun on the other hand had few to no flaws so he did not have much growth. Also I don’t Hage his character or anything I think he’s cool and i loved his character but these are just what I observed
I stumbled upon this movie and I loved it! So cute, fresh, warm and heartfelt. I kinda expected a high school romcom based on the Netflix trailer, but it turned out to be so much more.
i watched until ep 4 on iqiyi and from ep 6 onwards i need vip access. and then i found out from the comments that this was gonna be released on netflix on 9 sept ASDFGESA. now im just waiting here for 9 sept to come lmao... should not have started this show hahha
It’s slow burn romance for both main and side couple. There’s no “real” kiss although there’s a kiss…
HAHA I agree it made it TOO FUNNY. I think it would’ve been enough if they too a far blurred shot and end it quickly instead of a pretty long scene of the birds going at it LMAO
Damn I’m so lost with all the lords and families in this show LMAO. I don’t usually pay attention to the court politics unless I absolutely llove the show so this bad habit of mine is catching up on me. I usually just lump them into “good” or “bad” factions but damn There are so many names and families. They be like “lord XXX has betrayed the country” and I’m just here struggling to recall who he even is, let alone try to figure out where his loyalty liesLOOOL.
Idk why but from the poster, show title and hype I kinda assumed that this drama would be romance but part 1 is really a slice of life family drama. (I know part 2 is when the romance really starts cos I’m watching it at the moment) This part focused a lot on the female lead and her standing in her family and society. It also explores her quest for freedom and individuality. Her journey is frustrating but she knows there are good people in her life. Although this part was pretty grim there are some really funny parts? I LOVE the dramatic fights, those are just so funny and I also really like how some humour is sprinkled throughout. I don’t care much about the palace politics and ling buyi’s revenge tbh
Good coherent plot with strategies that actually sound smart. You know sometimes in shows they describe the strategy as smart but damn I don’t have to be god of war Sun Tzu to know that it’s dumb as fk, but the war strategies here at least are logical and easy to follow. Great character development for most of the main cast except for the male lead, who saw no growth because frankly he was the perfect character in this show LOL. ALSO WHY IS ASHILE SUN SO HAND SOME I CANTTTTT. He literally looks so good with his long wavy brown hair and armour. Even his regular day outfits are 😍😍😍😍 I think the main leads make a great partnership but were only ok as a couple. For romance I preferred the second couple tbh. I’ve watched 3 historical dramas in a row, although they are all kinda different, I think this one had the best plot and production. I didn’t really like the “villain” plot twist at the end but I get that it’s needed to wrap up the show and to show how far the female lead has come.
Is this a slow burn romance? Aslo when do they kiss and get together?? Someone pls spoil me
It’s slow burn romance for both main and side couple. There’s no “real” kiss although there’s a kiss scene. They are kinda always together but they get together as a couple at around ep 30 I think?
Hi the long ballad fans, i am into half ep 1 and i am still have mixed feeling either want to continue watch or…
I’m at ep 40+ and it’s good. I just came from who rules the world and this better has better plot IMO. Zhao lusi’s character is a nice person here although she’s VERY different from Bai Fengxi. She’s a bit naive in the beginning but she’s a very lovable character here
But of course they also made it very vague on purpose so this drama is best seen as one about unrequited love.
