I searched the cast and i could not find queen hyoui so I’m guessing they decided not to focus on the fact he has a wife and other concubines. But of course maybe they might be introduced later in the show. Most Korean historical drama are not historically accurate even if they are based on real people anyway.

I don’t see other wives in the cast. Maybe he has them but this drama will not show or feature them at all? A large aspect of this drama is whether she wants to become his concubine or not based on the synopsis… It was very normal for crown princes and kings (and other rich noble men) to have multiple wives in the past.

I loved kings affection in the first few episodes!!! I was so obsessed with it but the plot is too slow for me. That’s why I’m really hoping I like this one hahah

Loads of saguek this past few months. Hope this doesn’t disappoint. I didn’t like red sky’s plot. My interest in king’s affection also kind of fizzled because other than the first two eps nothing ever seems to be happening.
The first two eps for the red sleeve have been pretty good so far so I hope it keeps up the pace and humour. And also the leads interactions. ( lm shamelessly in this for the romance lol)
I started watching this drama because it seems to be quite focused on romance based on the teasers so i hope we get a lot of that and less politics. I’ve had enough of politics of this era from watching 70 eps of Yi San and reading his mother’s memoir lmaoooooo

But this is also a historical drama based on a period that had a lot of politicking and power struggle 🥲 I’m only in this for the romance lmao. I’m fine w romance but it feels they are rushing into it. And honestly the other aspects of the story (FL living life as a man, politics and background story of some characters) are more interesting than the romance so far lol.
Ep 1-2 focused more on the politics and the FL and they are definitely the best eps for me so far. 3-5 has introduced a bit more interaction btw the ML and FL and I thought those were not as interesting.
Then again this is a fusion youth romance not a political historical drama, so we might both have to reset our expectations haha.
