I think he did send him there, to tell the entire story. so that all the blame would be shifted to him only. That would lessen their resentment against xlx.
The fact that jiugao reported to jinqi immediately after. And jinqinonly relaxed and joined his friends when it seems mission accomplished.

They should visit her family right? Is it 3 days after the wedding? I'm not sure if the # of days changes, but they're supposed to visit her family.

If you saw spoilers, you may have seen how or why they got married. So far, that's his worst yet. For me.

We, the watchers also saw the same. it's only drunken xlx that didnt. 😅

Romance started with the ML and it's one of the sweet moments.
ML does have an uphill battle in making FL love him too.
it'll be interesting how the drama would also convince the audience and root for them. 🙂

I think he would prefer to patiently court her, to avoid spooking her if he's too forward, and then rejecting his proposal. He has always wanted her as his wife.
but he didnt foresee a formidable rival and then opportunity presented itself for him to be able to request a favor directly from the emperor. I think he just grabbed that chance. It is the most efficient option to deter any refusal from all sides.

It's okay. There's a lot of sweet and loving moments throughout the show. There's also anger and disgust. There would be sadness again. It's really a roller coaster for your emotions.
