hah, they're not even bothered to give us a proper 3 minute closure?!
It is because they want to make it as 2 endings. First for the people who is a realist or general public and need to convince that great achievements can only be achieved with sacrifices. And another one for people like us who love our happy endings. But I thought the way they actually spent in telling the ending is very awesome and all hints that comes with it. Everything has closure and properly being addressed. Though, a little extra will certainly make me more happy lol.
I like reading all of your comments here. So, what's your interpretation of the ending? Do you think WG and BC…
Ohh thank you! But the drama itself is amazing. :D I just pointed out the good points that the drama has in each episode. Not many dramas actually took time to write proper story and depth in their plot but this drama certainly did and they also cover many important things as well as a social commentary.
About whether WG and BC reunited again? Of course! I thought its very obvious. I wanted to say its an open ending but its actually not. Its a clear cut happy ending except, it wasn't in our face kind of thing. There is so much hints in the script to say that she will appear again. First, her conversation with WG before she disappear about life is long, and perhaps they will meet again. Then all the conversation of WG with everyone about BC and everyone seemed to convince that he will meet her again esp the message that WX passed to WG. Notice how WG never tries to find his mother or father since he knew that they are really gone but with BC, he is adamant he will find her again. I guess since her origin is the crystal it served as clue on why she is different.
But then, the most obvious one is the way the story progressed after that. It shows the passing of times; Spring, Summer, Autumn & Winter before WG arrived at their house at human world again. They wont show this passing of times if they just want to make he is just meeting someone random / no one. This narrative served as a purpose to show us that his journey has ended when he met BC again.
Then, the Snowman is biggest clue to us that it is BC since it is exactly the same Snowman that she once did at at the mine. Now I understand why the Snowman scene is important since its actually served as clues for the ending. Then the one that sealed the deal for me is Wu Geng's expression upon seeing the person who open the door -- its a smile with tears in his eyes. If it wasnt BC, his expression wont be that way.
Ok, just finished watching the last episode. What a great ending. I love how they actually took time for the ending -- the battle with Hei Long, the aftermath, and all Wu Geng visits, and later the end. It wasnt rushed at all and it is beautifully written carefully with an awesome message on how Wu Geng's legacy is not him inheriting the throne but rather how he lives in people's hearts.
And tbh, I didnt expect to cry, like its a battle dramas with fighting from beginning to end but the script is awesome? They let everyone have their emotional moments -- starting with the grandad, not gonna name anyone here but even Xinyue Kui? Like they have to show the Dad and the sister, and there I was shedding a tear lol. 😂
I'm still not coherent right now to write review but I'm just very happy with this drama. The script is definitely its biggest strength and both Ren Jialun and Xing Fei are awesome playing their respective roles. And all the supporting casts did an awesome jobs as well. I love even how in the end, the drama shows that it wasnt Wu Geng ALONE who defeat Hei Long but rather a collective efforts and helps from everyone.
So many twist and turns in merely 3 episodes. Who ever wrote the script deserved a brownie point. This is how you write a good drama and a good ending!
I cant believe we only have 6 episodes left. And pretty amazed how they managed to fit so many things in yesterday's…
I think the biggest twist so far is Shen Yan is on their side -- I did not expect that part tbh, like AT ALL. But the drama writing so far like to be deceptive in their storytelling and fool us so I'm sure we gonna get another surprise later about his real motives.
I cant believe we only have 6 episodes left. And pretty amazed how they managed to fit so many things in yesterday's episode -- it was tight, but didnt feel rushed at all. I love this kind of pace. Its really fantastic!
And I just love love how the script keeps coming back to the main theme of the story which is 'Fate is in your hand' -- so you yourself decide on how you are going to fight against it. Wu Geng's conversation with Uncle Ziyu is all kind of awesome on how they touched the topic about fate and how his father will fight for it even when he knew the outcome and the effect on him and his family and the condemnation that he is going to face -- which being brought up multiple times in the drama. But change is needed, you can just stay at your place and wait for everything to change on its own.
I also love the fact the drama went back on the topic how Xin King's decision to rebel against the Immortal robbed the chance of ordinary people of choice -- choice to join or choice to just live their lives. Just because the main character decided on something, doesnt mean they get spared from being criticized with it. That is why with Wu Geng now, all the people who joined him are with choice -- a choice that they made on their own. That is why there is people like Chen Jing or Xiao Sheng -- despite supporting Wu Geng, yet, still making a choice of not to fight. I love how the drama paint all these people as different, and have their own thinking -- entities that just dont exist for the main leads or just exist as plot device -- they are their own people, making their own decisions on how to live their lives.
This kind of comments always had me scratching my head. The leads' acting has been impressive so far. Their expressions are on point.
Like yesterday's episode when Xing Fei's change from evil to good, you can clearly see when she made the switch clearly. And if that is not good acting, I dont know what is it. Her eyes expressed so much. When she said Ah Gou, you can see the yearning in her eyes. Then, when she becomes evil, you can see how blank is her stare.
I keep rewinding the scenes during the Ceremony (Ep. 28). The way Wu Geng's face expressed disappointment and sadness towards Bai Cai was so good. It made me question at that time that I could be wrong when I thought it was all part of his plan -- I was like 'he cant be this sad if he planned this lol'. 😂
Yesterday's episode is so good! Love the part where Bai Cai keep changing from Bai Chai to the Crystal Spirit. Her scenes with Wu Geng was really well made -- you can see how she struggled to keep her conscious.
It made me laugh how his Aunt just want them to have misunderstanding. It made me lol how obsessed she is. But even the Spirit didnt want to give her that. 😂 Wu Geng knew right away Bai Cai is not his Bai Cai.
Before watching today's episode, I just keep rewatching Episode 28 for just how awesome is the twist. I really like how the script is deceptive while also telling us all over the place not to believe that deceptive narrative at the same time -- totally a brilliant writing.
And Wu Geng & Bai Cai's acting while executing the trap is excellent with no cracks at all -- the betrayal and disappointment expressions to all the tears are very convincing. The one that kind of give away its a plan is the Bai Prince when A'Lan tries to send a message by a butterfly -- he had a worried face for a split second in that scene.
In the source material NXET does die unless they change it here, IQIYI does tend to not kill them off and leave…
I think Erxing definitely die as in the intro, we can see he become stone and Hei Long walks past beside him. But I wish he didnt though. I really like his character. But during the promo, the way people talk, it seemed like he died. Thats the feeling I get when I watch it.
I wouldnt be rejoicing and praising just because there's definitely some tragedy coming around the corner
It is foreshawodowing and 100% will happen. But like I said, it probably will happen before the big battle at the end so she probably come back.
And Xing Fei said her character has a happy ending so I dont think with happy ending, she meant that she died at the end. I try to be optimistic. We have watched so many Cdramas -- they always come back esp for Fantasy/XianXia type of story.
literally!! I couldn't agree with most of the comments saying bai cai killed wu geng and so and so I almost got…
I'm a big RJL fan and I truth to be told, I actually have faith in the scripts that he picked. I dont think I ever seen his dramas with stupid misunderstandings thus I knew the script wont betray us. 🤭 I really hope he keep this track record since it makes watching his dramas so satisfying.
I actually really like the dramas he picked since he usually picked interesting and good script. Like Twilight last year for an example, I knew it has only 7.3 ratings at MDL but if you actually rate it based on the script quality, it deserved at least a 9 with how the script is structured and how complex the characters are written. I dont think I have seen any Cdramas with that kind of unique and creative storytelling with a looooot of detailing. Thus, it scored an extra points in my book.
I wonder why everyone else is saying the show will end in tragedy? Is it because what happened at the wedding? The wedding will happen before the big battle at the end so I'm pretty sure they wont kill the FL before the big battle considering she is also crucial for the team for her crystal ancient divine power.
Aren't we already being fooled so many times by the drama? Everytime we thought something will happen its actually the opposite? Everytime we thought the leads are stupid is actually their plan all along?
Plus, Xing Fei told us her character has a happy ending so I'm pretty much convinced we will get an open ending instead lol. 😆

Absolutely we fall for there trap but yeh that's the biggest point that Wu geng not finding bai cai but going…
Yes, the fact he is chilling while Bai Cai is crying is actually very telling. 🤣
The fact is, the drama dropped so many hints to show us that he always know it is Xinyue Kui's manipulations. They cant give us that many hints while also showing us that Bai Cai slowly turning to evil. That is why when they keep showing how Wu Geng fall for the evil scheme, it is pretty torturing since it seemed he is so gullible and stupid. I was like; it cant be, this cant be the same Wu Geng that we know from the drama lol which further my conviction that its all part of his plan all along.
Well done 👏 and I join you in thinking Bai Cai had so many hints by Wu Geng, and trust, and actions speak louder…
You should have watch the drama first before reading the comments since it will play with you all sorts of emotions before they revealed to you the twist.
And you are absolutely correct. This drama has done many foreshadowing for future events as hints to a lot of things. And all these hints are so glaringly obvious as signs to us the audiences about the characters such as how smart is Wu Geng or how sensible is Bai Cai. The way the drama play around with the hints while showing us different things are all kind of brilliant. It even makes you question whether have you read the drama correctly or is it going to betray you? -- this kind of questions keep running through your head while you are watching the episodes -- a very unique way of storytelling. The attempts of the screenwriter to fool the audiences while also giving answers at the same time are very entertaining. It makes the twist super rewarding and satisfying.
I wouldnt be rejoicing and praising just because there's definitely some tragedy coming around the corner
Of course! Tragedy is bound to happen as we still have 12 episodes left. I'm appreciating the fact that the writing is still solid so far which didn't betray the characters or make them doing stupid decisions or using dumb misunderstandings to move the plot. A good writing can still end in tragedy and it is perfectly fine as long as it is written with logic and making sense.

Xing Fei said her character will have a happy ending so I guess tragedy most probably out of the question. Hopefully 😬
