Oh yes I know. Thats why I put OR -- 'historical / XianXia' since this 2 genres are my faves. I know Luoyang is not XianXia since they do not have deity/immortal elements in the story. I always consider all historical dramas is wuxia though (lol) since this 2 always go hand in hand.

Yes, the subs are fast since its Iqiyi original drama but its not really popular though since its not even in the trend list. OTL I guess not many people like historical dramas in general.

My favourite genre in the whole world is Chinese historical / XianXia dramas so I'm looking forward to this. Looking at the trailer, it seemed like a really high budgeted production that are meant for movies -- I'm truly impressed! The problem when I start watching this type of drama is that I will be obsessed and will finish the gazillion episodes in 1 week's time so I always reluctant to start watching this long dramas lol

I'm watching Young Blood now (which I enjoyed since the male lead is kind of hilarious and smart) so I will probably picking this one next. :D

I'm not trying to convince her but just interested to know when she deemed the camera quality for Jdramas are acceptable to be watched. Because tbh, I didnt find anything weird on the camera quality on old Jdramas. Or did she mean picture quality? Like old Jdramas has 360p instead of the new ones with 1080p / 4k?

Yeah I totally understand. Its like I could never watch black & white movies. So despite Casablanca & Citizen Cane are very famous, I have yet to watch it. ;_;

As an avid Jdramas lover, the quality of Jdramas from the late 90's and early 00's is the best. They completely leading the drama world at that time with their tight script and quality content. I found many gems during that era and it remains iconic in my heart despite all the times has passed.

I esp love pets in dramas. Out of all, the one I love the most is Jung Haein's dog in When You Were Sleeping. Robin is just utterly one of the cutest things I have ever seen. He lights up the screen everytime he appears. He's the same level as Baby Yoda in my heart lol!

I do agree that the ratings is too high for this drama. I usually feel like ppl are more generous with rating for Kdramas but this ratings is too high for such a plot lol

I actually love C-romcom in general and contract marriage plot has always been my favorites but this one is totally a miss for me. For starter, the plot is not believable that I had to rewind scenes just to understand how can it comes to that lol esp when ML was convinced that he didnt need to marry the FL for his father. And it missed from the usual contract marriage plot sweetness that made the usual contract marriage plot fun and special. I gave it 6.5/10 and this is low for me since I'm usually generous with my ratings

I absolutely love Fated to Love You (K-version)! I even bought the expensive DVD set when it comes out. I feel like it corrected many things that I dont like from the Taiwanese version

I mostly can handle love triangle as it so common in dramas and most dramas usually involved with the leads in love with each other with SLs like them. But you know the SLs have no chance with the MLs as the leads put boundaries on them (friendzone them). So despite its love triangle, it didnt bother me as you know from the start its not ever gonna work out. But I do have problem with love triangle like Jealousy Incarnate thats why for the life of me, I fastforward the drama and only watch the secondary characters parts lol.

I wonder what is your tolerance level for drama like Fated to Love You where the ML is in love with the SL at first but later fall in love with the FL once he gets to know her.

I think the most interesting love dynamics drama that I watched is Black & White. In there, all the leads like someone else (5 people and all of them like someone else). I have never watch any dramas like that before so I was pretty much amused with it

Impressive! Do you happen to have Tomodachi no Koibito subbed? I would love to know the ending of that drama lol.

I watched this when the drama aired last time and I remember all the analysis some people did on how wrong what Ji Ho did to Se Hee. All the red room (?) conversation was interpreted wrongly by the writer and the characters did at the end is opposite to things it preached throughout the drama. Its one of the worst writing I've seen in Kdramas. Yet many people thought the script is deep when its just pretentious throughout. :(

I'm a perfectionist so list like this makes me anxious since I need to finish it all to feel at ease. So I never keep PTW list for my sanity. I usually will read the synopsis and if the drama interest me, then I will watch it. And I could never lie to myself so despite I started watching drama without ever dropping them, I started to do that and it made me happier. Some dramas are absolute trash and I aint gonna spent my precious time watching them and feel frustrated lol.

I'm not alone! OSTs has always been one of the best things that made me enjoy dramas even more. And I actually obsessed with OSTs more than regular songs lol. Chinese lyrics are very more poetic that I keep a book to write those verses so it can remind me how a simple verses can be so beautiful and heartbreaking.
'Memories would be the wounds that will never heals'
is an example how imaginary Chinese lyrics in general. I love how they use things to describe feelings so I have been collecting these beautiful verses like pokemon lol

I think one of the most memorable OST in my book is probably 'Snow Flower' by Park Hyo Shin. I'm Sorry I Love You is the most heartbreaking dramas I have ever watched and this OST just made everything even heart-wrenching. I watched this drama decades ago and still remember how the OST made my heart hurt physically lol. Or 'Goodbye My Love' by Ailee from Fated to Love You. Oh my goodness, how this song not made anyone feel the sorrow? Its so beautiful in the most heartbreaking way.

I agree on Ye Xuan Qing. She is my favorite Chinese singer. She has like one of the most beautiful voices I have ever heard. Her The Eternal Love theme song; 'Nine-Part Rhythm' is still my absolute favorite. I'm so happy they bring back her theme song for the 3rd season. :D And Jason Zhang's 'Three Lives, Three Worlds'! I remember thinking its probably the best theme song in the history of Cdramas. 8D

You are right! I recognize many of the names from my times of watching Hong Kong dramas when I was small. It amazed me that they are willing to compete in this show despite being so veteran in the industry. :D

The ratings always went up after dramas finished. I always wonder why people rate dramas during its airing time when they havent watch the drama fully yet

I just finished Plot Love lol! What a coincidence. It wasnt as good as Unforgettable Love and I believe the writer is most likely is not a mother thus the child plotline is handled really terribly imo. But I enjoyed the drama though. The leads acts like a truly married couple in love and they spent most of the drama together and being in love even when he didn't remember her due to the accident.

One of the best sageuk in the history of Kdramas. I love the leads and they are perfect to their respective roles like a glove.

I really feel like putting Yi San in my pocket and protect him lol -- he deserved all the best thing in the world. ;_;

Have you watch this show? Because if you do, then the OP comment gonna annoyed you even more. Han Ji Min character in Yi San is literally one of the best example of strong female character in Kdramas. Her role is so memorable here that she remains one of my fave female characters ever in dramaland. She is strong yet she is gentle at the same time -- he helped the king with his pursuit of a better Joseon and she is his strength rather than his weakness.
