I just dont think Murong Yao and his gang had a good reason to be villains and they didnt even explain how he was able to v successfully cooperate with the enemy country and legitimately boss their general prince around. His character, even after being revealed, was not that dominating. MRY revenge story honestly left me like, "What? That's it...?" because I feel like they could have honestly added more reasons for his hate and then Dad's switch-up. On the other hand, I was in a total roller coaster with Xia Jingshi. One minute I was rooting for him and the next I was annoyed at him for being so uncaring. At one point, I truly thought he would come around for Princess, but his obsession was too much. When they switched up Princess's endgame, I was actually surprised. I did not see that one coming.

I understand why Xia Jingan had to die, but honestly I felt bad because he changed for her (somewhat), but he did kill too many people and broke too many homes beforehand. It made me so sad when he was begging to let his girl live when he gave the long speech about never getting on his knees :(

i JUST finished the last episode, and I had the same question. I think he is just following his mother's wishes, and he just doesn't have interest in governing. He seems to care about staying on the ground rather than make all the administrative decisions (but action on the field is not happening for another 10 yrs so he is basically jobless now haha)

They almost seem like two different stories sometimes (except for major events being similar), so it's fun to watch and read them one after the other!

I have watched everything you suggested sp, so that's why I am putting a lot of hope on Fated Hearts and praying it's not going to disappoint. TPoB and WDBtD edits are on a constant replay for me. Like, I legit just keep watching these edits to fill the void

i was hooked on the first few episodes, and now I am like what is happening after they lost their memories?? When do 13th prince and Fl get together? And is she wishy-washy throughout drama in who she chooses? Honestly, spoil it for me at this point. I want to watch, but I don't especially love the love square going on.

yes! exactly. As for recommendations, these are some i really like over the yrs (both cdrama and kdramas) 1. Familiar Stranger (I can't recommend this enough), 2. Intense Love (just so wholesome with no big problems) 3. Red sleeves (so good; i have not moved on still) 4. W two worlds, 5. Prisoner of Beauty (? not sure if u watched it but i had to read the book first before starting because it wasnt aired when I found out about it and I COULD NOT wait)

Yep, that's on hold for me, I will pick it back up. 'Are you the one' is so underrated, I feel like. I love morally grey leads, and their chemistry was even better after she remembered. It was awesome.

Yes, I actually went and rewatched LBFAD after this because I felt like I didn't fully appreciated it the first time around (that was my first xiaxian drama).

After I finished this, I had to go re-watch LBFAD because I couldn't move on. Yes, it's quite similar but I realize I like Fl's character here more because she is so relatable with her modern-time habits and jokes, though I don't think it's a proper comparison anyways because LBFAD is not time travel.

I feel like by ep 26-27. But she is not completely running away from him before either, because she suspects what she knows might not be all true. So it's not terrible.

This drama changed my perspective of xianxia (which I honestly recently discovered is the name for these types of shows). I honestly watched them very sparingly before (I can count on one hand how many I watched), but after this drama, I found myself actually wanting to explore that genre more. She was one of the most relatable FL characters to ever exist, and let's not even talk about how amazing they were together.
