I am not sure. I didn't read the novel. Maybe someone else will answer this.

He doesn't know about her childhood. He only knows that her grandma raised her. But there are clues from what she said about childhood happiness and a life time.

I am not thinking is just grateful for her help and treatment of his family. I am thinking he saw the beauty in her actions. I loved her just watching her interact with the family with patience and kindness.

I agree and hope no more drama for at least the last 4 episodes, but 6 sounds better. I hope the lawyer and Fang Lei are dealt with by ep 26, so we can focus on the leads getting back together. There is still the issue of Haochen that needs to be resolved and Xu Yan's business, which will hopefully be a huge success so she can be equal to Haochen. The second arc is not just a redemption arc, but also for their relationship to gain balance and equality.

I love when he appears on screen. I wish we saw him more.

It was bad and while I wasn't as mad at him as some because I felt he cared more than he admitted, I also thought it would take a lot for him to redeem himself. But I softened quite early and I hope he succeeds soon😂

My first thought when he pulled out his research on her and slapped it on the table was that he was on the defensive. Guilt can make you blind. He has too much pride and arrogance. He went into full mode. As Haochen keeps telling him, he needs to apologize.

It was brutal. I almost abandoned him if not for the feeling I got from previous episodes. Also, just watching Xu Yan with his family especially with Haochen, how can he not feel something for her? He showed empathy and care for her when he noticed her sadness looking at a height chart in one of the episodes. Also, when I watch his face in the hospital scene when she talked about happiness in childhood and its effect on adulthood, he stared at her as if he sensed her emotions. He was appreciative of her for taking care of Haochen. And when I look at his character I don't see any evil to explain the way he mockingly hurt her in ep 14. All I can think is that the director felt he had to make this bad enough for the next arc to be more effective. Perhaps this is the reason his character was shown to be good in many ways before this.
I wish they had shown his expression flicker in hesitation in ep 14 for moment but they made it brutally blunt. But not too long after, the memories came back to haunt him just as he explained in ep 20. I am looking at the whole picture, but I can understand those on the other side. I started forgiving him when I saw him sitting in his chair looking dejected with Xu Yan's text message in his hand.

No. It was in ep 20 that he said what he felt but she thought it was an act.

Oh yes. There is on part I mentioned that was in a later episode but even so, it just validated my thoughts.

The drama has unfolded beautifully. Put that with great acting and it is no wonder it is a big hit.

The suspense in the earlier episodes was killing me!

Sometimes it takes someone leaving for you to know how much you love them. And even if you know you have feelings for them, you don't know until happens how it feels not to have them in your life. He also didn't trust her and though he had his feeling under control.

I believe Haoming because I felt he always loved her before he said it. Watching one scene in ep 14 no matter how horrible, does not negate the others that made me feel he cared.

I am 100% with you! Of course, his words in ep 14 were brutal, but I knew it had to be to set up the next arc. However, I never felt he did anything to her that made him unredeemable and he had me when he turned off the AC💗 He also showed tenderness to her throughout the first arc. And he did not fake that look when he saw her looking so beautiful in her wedding gown. People make mistakes. He overestimated himself in his arrogance and she left him to his dismay. I love the way this drama takes situations where the viewers and even the characters think the person is putting on an act but the words are actually from the heart. Everything Haoming said in front of the other couple and Steve was his reality.

That was hilarious especially when he asked his assistant to edit the pictures. Then he looked so smug with his sunglasses walking out the door only to undo all his hard work in a split second 😂
