William Chan played his role well in ep 14. He made me so mad but I feel just like Xu Yan whose life led her to this point where she had to fabricate her parent, he has something going on within him. I like that he loves his son and that he has been good to her previously. It was not all fake. He looked genuinely concerned that she was hurt trying to save him and I thought he would be back to pamper her. But it could be the memory of Haochen's mother made him go to him and left Xu Yan waiting. He could have at least called her. There has to be a reason other than him being cruel to her. My take is that he doesn't want to love her and he stayed with his son to give himself space from her.

I also feel he loves her but will not admit it to himself. He was so awful to her in ep 14 but he had to be for us to enjoy watching him fight to get her back. Many of us will be taking great delight in watching him run after her. I admire Xu Fan for feeling she needs to start over and for admitting she was wrong in lying to him.
