I am a romantic and normally I don't like the FL having an evil ex husband. But if the drama is really good, I can oversee that as in The Double. Also in The Princess Royal, the novel readers told me the FL was intimate with the sml in her previous life and they even told the chapters to read. I wish I had not read it. In her present life, it was obvious she only had the ML in her heart and I loved TPR! As you said, let's hope the screenwriter and director make this work for us.

I love strong leads who are cunning. The FL in The Double is a perfect example. I took at look at your watchlist. I see you also like WTPR. It is one I did not like because the FL was weak and acted more like a deranged woman out for revenge. I think this is the makjang effect in Kdramas. I got turned off Kdramas after watching Marry My Husband and WTPR. But now I am watching Our Universe for the little cutie. It hasn't hooked me, so I put it on hold until all the episodes are out. The FL is not strong or cunning.

I haven't read the novel but I agree with everything you said here: "I really thought that in the first 100 chapters, why is he not a lot there! So if the script writers can increase his prominence a bit, without diminishing the light of FL, and not show her as damsel in distress always to just hype ML, but keep what it is in the novel, then I don't see a problem! Both Wang Hedi and Meng Ziyi are good cast choices, and I think they will do a good job!
Also, since you read the novel, is the ml someone she meets in her second life? From the synopsis, she was executed by her husband or I assume he was the emperor.
