Poor PWX😭 He made so many preparations.

I thought the death notice would have done it. And I agree. It is too much now. Time for the drama to move on the trust issue or whatever it is. It is not that I don't see where it is disappointing, it is just that I am enjoying the happy scenes between the leads more than anything SRQ does with LR

Yes. It was great when she noticed he was quiet and she asked him he thought she didn't care. Then she told him how she felt when she heard he had died. When he thanked her for having faith in him, she told him it was more that she could not allow herself to believe he had died because she didn't how she could live without him. I hoped she would have stopped resisting him now after the death news, but I guess the drama is dragging it out. Jin Mai said it would take time.

Who knows what is really going on in his mind. Either he is headed down the same path or he is trying to change it. But no. He will not be with LR with PWX around.

We will see what happens next. It looks like it might be a turning point but I don't know why she wants him to wait. She said she didn't know what she would do without him had he died. But she is still afraid to trust her heart to him. She is afraid. The previews for tomorrow is hard to follow because of the lyrics to the music.

I don't know how he can have hope after he saw her reaction to the news that PWX was back. I am puzzled as to SRQ's motives. He tells himself that LR must be protected but I don't know if it for his benefit or he sincerely cares about her. I wonder what happened to him after LR died. I might browse the book.

PWX is more to her than a tool for power. She was obviously happy to hear PWX returned. She refused to believe he died. SRQ would not let her speak of his proposal once he saw she was so happy to see PWX again. When I watched today's drama, I saw LR as a woman who was shaken at the thought that PWX might have died and for her own mental state, she chose to believe he was not. It was not just faith in his ability to get through it safely. It was because she didn't know how she could live without him. I saw her fussing over him both when he came back and when he was hurt in the assassination attempt. I know she has feelings for SRQ due to their past but will never accept his proposal. In ep 12 she told herself she didn't know if she could trust her heart to PWX again after what happened, so she decided to concentrate on the mission. And yet, through her actions, it is evident she loves him. I loved today's episodes because of what I saw between the leads. I didn't like her pushing PWX away especially after he had just returned. But she is who she is and I hope they don't drag that out too long. I am more concerned with what SRQ is up to that could hurt the leads.

PWX already told him it was none of his business. As for LR, I think she is trying to get information for SRQ and she will bide her time so she can watch him.

There are many aspects of The Princess Royal to love. The one that makes me love it, is the chemistry between the leads. PWX loves LR. He will wait for her to admit she loves him which she does and he knows it. I find myself watching and going back to watch again because the dialogue has meaning.

Spoilers for ep 18/19

But sometimes it is just the joy of watching them together. Ep 18 and 19 showed the couple growing closer after the time PWX was away. It is so cute the way he missed her. There are many sweet scenes:

1. Li Rong's reaction on hearing PWX had returned was emotional and heartfelt relief so much so she was moved to tears. I loved seeing her run to PWX and the expression on his face when he saw her💗

2. It was sweet to see the way Li Rong hovered over PWX as she got the doctor's report that he was fine. And PWX managed to look like a cute boy watching as someone took charge of his health. It was funny to see his assistant's concern as well. He loves his young master😂

3. The first kiss in present time. PWX told LR he knows she him in her heart. And she looked as if she would relent but she is still holding back. Nevertheless, the director chose to interrupt the kiss with a flashback to previous lifetime to show there was a time when they were happy.

4. In addition, LR asked PWX if he thought she didn't care. She told him she didn't know what she would have done if he had died. She is not comfortable expressing her feelings but PWX had a smile on his face. They both missed each other.

5. The pride on PWX's face as he watched LR take control.

6. The terror on LR's face when she heard someone tried to assassinate PWX.

7. PWX's showing his bare chest to a LR who appeared not to notice. ZLH is so good at this!

And this was only from today. I really wish more comments were about the leads. Anyone coming in here might be discouraged from watching and they would miss out on this couple.

Li Rong is a strategist. She is always thinking. She knows she shouldn't trust SRQ and she has to be careful how she approaches him if she want to find out the truth about why she was killed.

Maybe he died after. I think he also went back. It as if he knows something.

True. I am not saying I agree with him. He is different from PWX who stands proudly watching his princess and will support her. I loved that smile on his face as he watched her. I am going to have to watch again! I watched it twice last night before going to sleep.

He said that going against the nobles will get her killed. I have to watch again but I am pretty sure he said something to himself about keeping her safe.

You dropped this because you are confused and you don't like the FL? First, the FL is a complex character, and Jin Mai is amazing portraying the different layers of LR. The director chose her because they felt she could portray Li Rong not only by her acting skills but by her speech. She is not dubbed for that reason. This drama is deep. I rewatch to analyze the dialogue. The cp is amazing. Not only visually beautiful as both leads are good looking but they are also natural together. One of things I love about Jin Mai is her natural acting. She doesn't need to stomp up and down like some to show her emotions.

We all have our preferences. Funny you should mention ABAY in your review. I was excited for another Xu Kai modern drama but was disappointed as soon as I saw Seven who is great in comedy and family dramas but flat in romance. She also overacts her emotional scenes. I don't like her in romance, so I am not sure If I will watch even for Xu Kai. I skimmed through the first episode and already cannot watch her. But if I do for Xu Kai, I will be sure to leave a review. I haven't enjoyed Xu Kai's recent dramas due to cp and plot lines and I am hoping he will will costar with actresses like Lusi or JIn Mai.

I wonder if SRQ will surprise us. He seems to be concerned over LR's safety unless I am not understanding this right. Maybe he regretted killing her and trying to make amends.

There were some beautiful scenes today. I keep going to back to hear the words.

I have never doubted that she loved PWX. And with each episode as more was revealed and watching her reaction to him, it become more clear. Even when they threw in SRQ scenes, I still believed she loved PWX. The only thing I wasn't absolutely sure about was how close was her relationship with SRQ in the past. But not I have separated past from present in terms of their separation and watching to see how they evolve. The love is never a doubt.
